We got a bit of snow down here in Southeast Virginia last weekend and I was surprised at the way my Renegade AT5 performed! Shocked the isht out of me! I was in 4H 95% of the time. My next set will be BFG KO2, but I am pleasantly pleased with these budget tires.

Love the review and action shots of the tires in the snow. Great choice to replace my Defenders on my FJ. Its either going to be a new set of the Michelin Defender LTX m/s, (had several sets of those, love them) the Pirelli Scorpion AT, or these BFGs.

Hey I wanted to say thank you. Because of your videos I put the trail terrains on my GMC Sierra yesterday. The big reason why I got these over the ko2’s is that I spend 80 to 90% on-road. The times I do go off road are either in northern mn or in Wyoming so I also wanted a comfortable ride to the destination. Snow performance was also a big consideration as well. The Goodyear eagles that came on the truck were miserable in the snow.

I was a huge fan of the rugged terrain TA's and was sad to see them discontinued. When these came out, I had them put on my new 22 4Runner TRD Pro's right away. Love them! Great in the snow. Great in the rain. Very quiet for an AT. The only problem I have had is that they retain flat spots for the first 5 or so miles. The tire needs to be warmed up. Would definitely buy again.

Thanks for taking the time to make this review. Like any tire review though, we normally don't see a follow-up after 2 years of all-season use. Tires get hard and lose the ability to grip wet or snowy roads over time. Unlike ice tires which are great for below freezing and even below zero but almost melt above 50F, normal all-season tires can be unsafe once they get older, even if you don't drive on them much, the compound just doesn't stay as soft as they did the time of your tests. The last two sets of tires on my Jeep, Goodyear DuraTrac's and BFG KO2's have a tell tell signs. They get NOISY.

I went ahead and bought a set of these for my Dodge Durango. Since last time I bought tires, we moved, had a couple of kids, and we just are not off road any where near as much as we used to be. We drive a ton more straight highway miles now than ever before and we wanted a tire that was quieter, was made for more on road driving, and had a longer tread life. These tires are quiet do great on dry roads, and have done well in the rain. I got them then a few days later we immediately made a 5 hour trip. No shaking, they felt great, they are quieter than the KO2’s. I hope they do well in the snow. That was one of the things I loved about the K02’s they were great in snow, in mud and grass, and good on the highway.

@@dslotman120193 They did really well in snow! I have been extremely happy with how they did in 1-8 inch snow and varying degrees of slush. These are the right there with the KO2s in snow and are much better on wet roads and in slush. I have not driven them in really deep unploughed snow nor do I plan on doing that. I think they would do well even in deeper snow, but I will say they are Not a True Snow Tire. If you live somewhere that gets a ton of snow or where you are out often on untreated/unploughed roads, I would still say to get true snow tires. However for many places these tires are more than good enough in snow!!!!

Okay, I recently purchased 2 of this trail terrains for a 2007 chrysler voyager (minivan). I installed them in the front because there is where it all happens (traction, power, cornering, breaking, etc).
So far so good. They grip great, ther perform incredible during breaking and they are quite good on the rain. I don't see snow ever since I live right in the center of Mexico. Actually, they've performed so good that I'm gonna purchase a set of 4 for a chevy colorado 4x4 z71. The size I am using on the voyager is 215/65 r16 (original size) and the one for the colorado is gonna be 245/70 r17 or 265/65 r17. Some reviewers said they were horrible in the snow, but again could of been the older version of the tire. I bought them and was kind of having buyers remorse. But I noticed just about every tire I researched a few people had something terrible to say while others said how good they are.

I am interested in these tires as a possibility for my 2018 Silverado 1500. I am sick of the OE HT tires it came with. I am most concerned with winter traction, wet traction and tread life. I love the look of the more agressive tires such as the Toyo Open Country but rarely off road and have a bit of a tight budget. I do drive on gravel from time to time. As far as towing I occasionally tow up to a 6000lb trailer. Lately I have been hauling some heavier around 2000lb payloads. It is not an every weekend thing but on average once every couple months and only for around 15 miles. I have been doing this hauling with Goodyear HT tires. I am having trouble choosing between the expensive Open Countrys, cheaper Kenda Klevers AT2, Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT, Goodyear Wrangler AT and these Trail Terrains. Do you the Trail Terrains would work my truck? Would they be too light duty?
