    Summary:
    1) Stay on a sustainable diet that you personally enjoy and fits well within your lifestyle (make sure you get a balance of all macro nutrients and keep your protein intake high)
    2) Avoid too much cardio especially the endurance type cardio, instead increase your NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis) or work in intervals (intensity matters the lower the more fat is actually being targeted and the higher the intensity glucose is the main source)
High intensity cardio can alter your recovery which ultimately affects your resistance training
    3) Speaking of resistance training, its the most important type of “exercise” an individual should be doing to lose fat since it increases the amount of lean body mass and that in return increases your BMR making you burn more calories (mainly fat) during rest, however do not always count on the number on the scale since there would be a chance that you’re at body recomposition stage (building muscle and losing fat) and therefore that number would remain the same, instead measure the size of your muscles over time to see if there is progress.

    Great content. I enjoy eating..
I enjoy what I eat everyday though. So it doesn’t feel like I’m dieting.
It keeps me excited through this process.

I lost 84lb this year, and still wasn't happy with my body, with loads of cardio. Watching your channel pushed me to joining a gym 2 weeks ago.
Oh gosh do I love doing weights, and can see changes in my body and muscles already.
    What an amazing feeling

Finally some sensible advice! This is exactly the attitude that has helped me loose 15kg the last 6 months. And most important, I can live with it for - I feel the rest of my life...
Weight training 2 times a week, 3 good long walks pr week and other activities when I feel for it and find it fun. Otherwise a little focus on what I eat, and some compensation if I’ve been “sinful”. Focus and sustainability is the key words.😊

The body adapts to everything, the way you look is a product of the things that you do, so if you stop doing the things that made you look that way in the first place, you're not going to look the same way. Saying "don't do too much cardio because then you're going to have to keep doing cardio to mantain your weight" is like saying "don't lift weights because then you're going to have to keep lifting to mantain your muscle mass". Of course you're going to have to keep doing whatever you're doing if you want to look the same way as you look now. As I see it, this type of advice usually comes from people that enjoy lifting and hate doing cardio, wich is totally ok. But again, your body adapts to anything you do for a certain period of time. So a better advice would be to do whatever you think you could keep doing long term, regardless if it's cardio, weightlifting or both. It's not like your body is going to magically keep your muscle mass even if you stop lifting or you start lifting less.

Thanks Paul, I’d be interested in a video that covered what to do if you’ve made all those mistakes and how to get out of it? Where to start? I understand the whole reverse dieting etc. But for gen pop....where would you advise they start first? Clearly trying to change everything at once will likely have negative effects in terms of weight gain etc.

good info, but of course if you eat like crap and stop doing cardio, then you will gain the weight back that doesn't mean cardio is bad at all, that's the new mentality cardio is bad for weight loss, well ok, show me a fat marathon runner, show me a fat swimmer, or show me a fat cyclist, and I will show you a fat weight lifter all day long (of course I believe in doing it all from stretching to cardio to weights ,etc.) I was just making a point
