Best description of what happened. Izzy can't admit, which is pretty normal too, he's human after all. Alex did invote him to dance at 300, and it would be huge, def. bigger than Alex vs Hill, but somehow he said no, have to factor Poatan's nuclear option, it must feel scary to fight against someone who can put your lights off.

The other 2 were people who beaten Izzy himself. Whittaker is the only fighter in Izzy’s resume that’s worth anything at this time. Marvin, Jared, Costa and Yoel all don’t come close to Sean, Jan, Jiri and Izzy in terms of a better resume. Also who cares what Khabib thinks?? So random to even mention him

At least that’s what I think he means. Well if you actually watched the fights you’d know the he reason why he knocked out Alex is because Alex rushed and got countered while Sean played patient and picked his shots. I can’t remember where I saw it but even Alex said that he told Sean to be careful and don’t fall for Izzy’s traps because he slightly regrets loosing like he did. I think it was one of the videos on his CZcams channel after Sean won.

Prior to 300, I imagine a lot of the UFC fans take Izzy's words at face value regarding a rematch with Pereira.
With what we know now and how easy it was for Pereira to take down Hill, this sounds a lot more like bragging over a lucky turnaround in a match.
I imagine Izzy knew this based on the look on his face in UFC 300.
If Hill put up more of a fight Izzy might have been able to keep this narrative going, but it'll be really hard to convince people that if Izzy matches up with Pereira again he'd be able to pull off another W.
