    Great video! Been getting lots of snow here in Maine with another 12” coming today. Turning the blade around and driving forward has been perfect for those light snow days of 2-3” and light cleanup. I have a gravel driveway and I don’t want to cut down to the gravel in winter so the short link setting in forward position is great for winter applications. BX2370 with LandPride RB1560 Blade. Thanks for you informative videos!

    Hey thanks - very timely- just used mine to plow a little snow this weekend and i didn't realize i could turn it all the way around and then drive forward. I was digging into the gravel here and there so had to lift it out of float but will try it turned around. Cheers and thanks!

      I did some plowing in this video. It is probably tough to see how it works.

    Great info keep up the great work ! Being in a wheel chair i like to put a hydraulic top link or make a top and tilt set for the Kioti i know it is over kill be i would be nice not to have to get off the tractor ! Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years ! Kioti Curt :-)

      @TractorTech  Před 6 lety +1

      Thanks Curt! A hydraulic top link would be a huge asset for you. It would not be hard to make one. Agristore has some that are pretty cheap too. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year too.

    Great video. How about a video on changing a used blade?
    I just bought a used scraper. It's mud season here in Quebec after all the heavy snow and massive rain.
    My horses are shredding my dirt path and the tractor is leaving deep tire impressions (MF 184-4) is it better to flip the blade backwards and drive forwards to best fill in the deep ruts? Or run it straight on a less aggressive cut?

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  Před 5 lety +2

      Do you mean changing the cutting edge on the blade or attaching the blade to the tractor?
      I would have the blade forward and drive forward with the toplink short, then if you need more cut, just lengthen the toplink.

    Great vid, same blade on a Kioti subcompact. Do you think the side to side float (by removing the rear pin) is a better alternative to constantly adjusting side 3PH linkage/leveler if you regularly change blade angle? Plowing (forward) snow from a blacktop driveway.

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  Před 2 lety

      Removing the pin would cause some wear on that part of the blade. If you driveway is short, and you only plow a few times a year, you probably will be fine. If you have a long driveway I would not do it. You could also add a couple of grease fittings to each side of the blade were it tilts.

    often an extended toplink is used with a double edge box blade, to bring the forward facing blade above the ground level, and ride the rear blade, in a non cutting, back blading fashion to smooth ground without removing material.

    longer toplink length more aggressive cut, shorter is less aggressive

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  Před 6 lety

      Yes, if the cutting edge is facing forward and you are driving forward.

    BOX BLADE SCARFIRE WILL CUT DITCH BETTER THAN STRAIGHT BLADE / U THINK ?

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  Před 3 lety

      It depends. I'd rather use a scraper blade with an offset so the tractor does not have to run in the ditch.
