Out of 7 billion people you must consider age, which narrows down your options alot. Then location, which narrows it even more. And language, which is mostly in part with location but it wouldn't hurt to consider. And you should remind yourself how small your options are when the only people you meet are at school, work, etc. Don't feel bad if you haven't met someone yet. There is a match for you, don't settle for anything less.
I think traveling might help because staying in the same old boring town can really limit how interesting the people you meet are. Which is important to me
The biggest problem today is that we treat people as 'options'. Human beings have essentially been reduced to 'products' to choose from based on the features that these products can offer us. No matter how hard you look, there will always be a better 'option/product' just over the horizon. The grass will always be greener on the other side. We all pursue the ever elusive perfect man or woman. Little do people realise there is no such thing.

I think it is much harder to find love now cuz people have extremely unrealistic expectations and standards. They expect too much, they want too much and therefore turn away any suiters cuz they feel they deserve better and expect to get everything they want. So yes I do believe it's harder to find love now days also, you have much more people who don't want to commit or be in a serious relationship and the other person might want exactly that.
My last relationship resulted in me becoming a single father. I love my daughter, but it's pretty difficult doing it on your own. After that whole experience I'm just not interested in a relationship.

Its much harder now. People use social media so much they're no longer in tune with whats around us everyday, the reality we can see. Profiles made to portray an image greater than the truth, awkward interactions, awkward expectations, assumptions, and no genuine feeling or emotion beyond that of an emoji or an "lol." That aside there are so many people that rely on technology to be their comfort, further drawing them away from each other. You start a casual conversation with someone sitting next to you (no, not a creepy or weird way) and they'll literally pull out an earphone to answer disinterestedly before getting back to their phone and doing whatever it is they were doing. On a note of personal observation both outdoors and indoors, its usually girls/women on their phones/social media so much. Here's a scenario: Person A: "Hey, I see you around this bus stop a lot, you go to ______ too right?" Person B: *takes out 1 earphone and leans out ear to hear Person A repeat* Person A: *repeats question* Person B: "Yea." *puts back earphone and goes back to phone* Person A: "Its a long bus ride, literally from the beginning of the route to the end, you take any other buses?" Person B: *pulls out earphone to answer* "Yea I take 3 total." *puts back earphone & goes back to phone* Person A: "Oh wow, thats a long way. I guess you just like going to ____ then right?" Person B: *looks away from phone to answer* "Yea." *goes back to phone* Person A: *thinks to himself* Well either they're doing something super important on their phone (which its usually not), not interested (maybe based off appearance), or they're doing something on the phone that's a whole lot more interesting than wanting to get to know me. I'll stop talking. Person B misses out getting know someone who might be worth dating or even just getting to know. Person A decides Person B isn't worth the time and effort. Person B fails to find 'love' on a dating app with their superficial profile and expectations. In the meantime Person A is only a step closer to being anti-social. Everybody loses. .
no matter what anyone says, finding love is very tired as a concept. Sure, it's a thrilling experience and it brings a lot of memories but really the most important thing is to establish a healthy relationship with yourself. Like love is important ESPECIALLY when it comes from within. don't let people shit on you for not having a relationship. If you truly want one, it will come. Just let it come naturally. Yeah and we overthink the situation. You might think you kinda like someone you met in person last night, so you'll look up their instagram or whatever and over analyze the situation by thinking you have an idea of who they are rather than calling them to go on a date and find out for yourself. And if you like people who has very dark skin? by all means, you will have the luxury to choose only dark skinned people. It's harder because no one even bothers to meet anymore. Social media is being used as 'real interaction' when really it's not. In my experience people just aren't willing to meet each other as much as they used to. People are getting this perception you and someone else know each other just because you talk via text or call when really it's not giving you the full details. Humans are different in person than you think. Whether that's how they actually engage in one to one convos in person, to how they perceive things in person.

It has always been that way. Sex is much easier than love in part because people don't want to make the effort at something harder and the more the relationship is focused on the easy like sex, the tougher true love becomes. For in the long run it is tough loving feeling like a sex object, for there is not much progress in sex so a relationship with only sex going for it, gets dull fast. The real problem is that most people don't know what love really is, and so they focus on the physical they can grab and see which isn't love, and the more you do that the tougher it becomes to see or believe in love. Materialism is really what kills love. Faith, courage, truth, hope and will power for better increase love.

Love has never been easy to find and I don't think it ever will be, for it is not just about how many or few options you have when it comes to love, it is also about understanding what love really is and why it is always hard. For all who hope for love hopes for something better, but if one comes with 3 pizza bagels and the other with 2, one will LOOSE pizza bagels if there is to be a change in the physical. For both partners to "gain" in companionship there has to be a trust, love, respect, creativity, sharing, security and progress in the partnership and that takes very hard work no matter what age you live in or how many choices you have. So I am not sure it is as much about choice of partners as it is about effort to take care of a partners needs whom you don't know will take care of yours. So both the risk and reward is great with love making it very tough. People today find relationships easier, but they tend to last much shorter. 1000 years ago it was tougher to find a relationship, but people did more to stay in it even if the relationship was not ideal as options were less. Which is better? I think it is the same, for on the one hand it is not good to settle for a relationship you are not happy with, but on the other hand with too many options it may be tempting to give up too easy or thing that all other options are better, and make less effort to work at the relationship you are in. Since love is not about the physical but about something inner, the age and amount of choice can not really have anything to do with love. Love succeeds when two people make enough effort for it to regardless of outside circumstances.

For years I thought I could never find love. I'm finally dating the guy I've liked for years and he's liked me for years. I thought I was undesirable to everyone, unattractive and just too weird for my own good. But my boyfriend loves me for who I am and the things I thought were flaws he sees as selling points, like how I nerd out about space so much I end up foaming at the mouth, my love of casual and comfy outfits, the fact I'm naturally skinny (I always felt being so bony made me ugly), the fact I'm unusually strong for being so skinny. To him, I'm the most beautiful girl in the world (or at least that's what he tells me, although by how he talks about me like he's dating his celebrity crush, I think he really is that into me). It's WAY harder to find a good woman now. Dating apps have basically destroyed men. You meet a woman 35 years ago at the bus stop, and she would be thinking about you and about going on a date. You meet a woman at the bus stop TODAY, and she thinks "Well he was cute, but lemme check my dating app! Oooh this guy looks interesting!" and then she literally forgets all about you. TOO. MANY. OPTIONS. And it benefits neither side.
I don't have any data to back me up, but I think the amount of people who find love or companionship has remained pretty constant (per capita). Single and unhappy people can be pretty vocal about it on the Internet, which is a perfect anonymous platform for voicing their grievances. You can even find unity with other unhappy people. But going back into the past there's no lack of literature relating to unhappy love, or a lack thereof.

My mother and father have been together for over 20 years now, and have gone through all their rough situations between them. I think the problem is nowadays that people give up too quickly. If you get into an argument, you decide to break up. In my opinion, true love is 2 people that have feelings for each other and are ready to overcome any difference between them. Perfect boyfriends and girlfriends don’t exist, unless you find a way to make it work.

*My Answer:* It's not harder to find love, its easier considering that now in the modern age, we have all these dating apps and technology that helps remove the gaps that we all had before the 21st century. However, its harder to find a soulmate because people want someone to check all the requirements theyd like a partner to have. If you like a blonde? then you will only give those with blonde hair into consideration, you like a red head? same thing. And if you like people who has very dark skin? by all means, you will have the luxury to choose only dark skinned people. In this age, we're given a large amount of flexibility of who we can choose to date. It's a great thing but its also a bad thing because we judge someones physical traits before knowing. Its perhaps one of the things I always admire the people back then, dating was easier because people weren't as picky as people are today. So , is it hard to find love in this date an age? yes, especially when you compare how we date today to how people dated back then. However, is it easier to find people to date? yes.

I think it is the same, for on the one hand it is not good to settle for a relationship you are not happy with, but on the other hand with too many options it may be tempting to give up too easy or thing that all other options are better, and make less effort to work at the relationship you are in.
Since love is not about the physical but about something inner, the age and amount of choice can not really have anything to do with love. Love succeeds when two people make enough effort for it to regardless of outside circumstances.

For years I thought I could never find love. I'm finally dating the guy I've liked for years and he's liked me for years. I thought I was undesirable to everyone, unattractive and just too weird for my own good. But my boyfriend loves me for who I am and the things I thought were flaws he sees as selling points, like how I nerd out about space so much I end up foaming at the mouth, my love of casual and comfy outfits, the fact I'm naturally skinny (I always felt being so bony made me ugly), the fact I'm unusually strong for being so skinny. To him, I'm the most beautiful girl in the world (or at least that's what he tells me, although by how he talks about me like he's dating his celebrity crush, I think he really is that into me). I'm eternally grateful.
It's honestly hard for me to find people I'm actually interested in, or realize I'm even into a particular person. With me being an Aquarius for one, and a manipulative daydreamer (which is a very real thing). But hey, as long as a have very close and loving friends along this journey of never ending hell, I'm good. :)

Sure, you can find love, but due to vast amount of people in this world, your significant other or you will always find someone with better characteristics than you, or basically an improved version of you and therefore will be tempted to sever the bond. All in all, can't trust anyone.
The reverse is also true though. You can always find someone with better characteristics than your current SO.

It's WAY harder to find a good woman now. Dating apps have basically destroyed men. You meet a woman 35 years ago at the bus stop, and she would be thinking about you and about going on a date. You meet a woman at the bus stop TODAY, and she thinks "Well he was cute, but lemme check my dating app! Oooh this guy looks interesting!" and then she literally forgets all about you. TOO. MANY. OPTIONS. And it benefits neither side.

I don't have any data to back me up, but I think the amount of people who find love or companionship has remained pretty constant (per capita). Single and unhappy people can be pretty vocal about it on the Internet, which is a perfect anonymous platform for voicing their grievances. You can even find unity with other unhappy people. But going back into the past there's no lack of literature relating to unhappy love, or a lack thereof.
Finding love is well.... impossible, since making friends is already hard enough.
Since everyone has potential of betrayal and backstabbing, I don't trust any SINGLE person on this planet.

I don’t think it’s impossible, I just think people are developing higher expectations. My mother and father have been together for over 20 years now, and have gone through all their rough situations between them. I think the problem is nowadays that people give up too quickly. If you get into an argument, you decide to break up. In my opinion, true love is 2 people that have feelings for each other and are ready to overcome any difference between them. Perfect boyfriends and girlfriends don’t exist, unless you find a way to make it work.
I think it is harder to find love because some of them are shy ( And i am shy )
