Best 31 minutes I have watched on CZcams in months! Thank you for sharing such a wealth of knowledge while answering great questions. Editing is fantastic. Straight to the point conversation with your audience and an excellent way of describing things. You sir deserve way more subscribers than you currently have! As a welder fabricator with 12 years of experience and wanting to “break off” and start his own business, this is gold level information. Thank you for your effort, time and sharing. Looking forward to your next upload!!

Thanks for posting great videos! It's awesome to see that you're still having fun doing what you do. The amount of helpful information you've put out in these is a testament to the type of person that you are. I remember bombarding you with questions about your manifolds years ago, and you were nothing but helpful and pleasant back then as well. I don't think I'd be half as happy with my project if it didn't have your name between the tubes. Thanks for all of your help back then, and thank you for continuing to be an excellent person today!

I absolutely resonate so much with everything you mentioned in the video. I’m an automotive mechanic of 20 years and I have such a strong passion for problem solving and metal fabrication. I’ve started CZcams a few months ago. I love the challenge of learning a new skill. Video editing is so time consuming but so worth it at the end when you watch what you’ve made back. I’ve never read a proper book as an adult… just workshop manuals haha.. but you’ve got me intrigued with the ones you showed.. maybe they might be my first books that I properly read. You’re very inspirational and I can’t wait for your next video! Cheers buddy!

Im like, ok at welding, didnt go to school for it, but realised I liked working with my hands, and a good few years later, I am still at it. I have done a few bits now for my own car, from engine mounts to exhaust modifications. But have never really considered having a crack at doing it on my own. Each one of your videos youve released lately have made me feel more and more, with the resources and tools I have, I could easily get started making a few parts, starting with vehicles we have already and maybe expading from there. But yeah, thanks for the videos, and the behind the scenes honest info. Has changed my perspective a lot, at a time im feeling a bit stuck, and ready for more. Appreciate it man.

Great video, thanks for sharing your tips and tricks.
One other angle regarding the CNC mill.... In addition to the high cost and time involved in becoming proficient running that machine there is the time involved in designing and machining the parts.
Great if you have the time but as a fellow one man show my time is precious and hiring out cnc machining is like hiring a part time cnc operator without the overhead.
Owning an expensive piece of equipment like that makes the most sense when it's running all day. Otherwise saving 50% on machining in house is quickly washed away by the cost of the machine collecting dust in the corner of the shop.

Why do you use 309 instead of 308 or 316 rod? When i first started welding i used a 309 out in the field and after a day of rain the weld rusted and my boss called me into the office to basically ask me why i was so stupid. He explained 309 was for welding stainless to carbon steel and told me not to do it again. I also learned later on that some schools use it to train students to weld stainless steel while using carbon pipe for practice to reduce costs.
Years later we had an issue with the welders in a shop i was the lead fabricator in and the young guys insisted 309 was good for stainless and sure enough we got rust spots even after an acid wash. My boss and I ended up having to lock up the 309 rods in the tool room because they kept using it without permission.
Now I'm wondering if there's actually a really good reason to use 309 on stainless and I just missed a method to keep it from rusting. It would especially throw me off if there's a good reason to use it on sanitary tubing.
