Sounds like a 1/2 3.5l twin turbo ecoboost V6, and frankly sounds best out of all 1.5l turbo engines I ve ever heard.
I have a 140 HP Fiesta st line and simply amazing.... Imagine this One...

Doing the road full throttle all the way up is astonishing both by car and motorbike but remember: it's cyclists favorite place also!

RP20072003 Was genau ist daran doof? Ich finde es genial. Klingt wie ein kleiner M3. Dazu hochmodern, effizient und kompakt. Kann absolut nicht nachvollziehen, warum Leute 3 Zylinder für ein Problem halten.

Ne ich frage ja nur nach dem Grund. 2L 4 Zylinder ist halt standard. Bei einem Performance Auto spielt auch Gewicht eine Rolle. Und mehr Gewicht sparen als mit einem kompakt gebauten 1.5 L Alublock geht doch nicht ;)
P1TV Der Fiesta st 150 hat auch wenig gewicht mit nem 2l Duratec 4 Zylinder und der hat auch Performance und hört sich auch besser an
(Muss dazu sagen das ich generell auf alte Autos stehen die neuen sind ....naja zu viel Elektornik zu viele Assistenten dir teilweise unnötig sind TEILWEISE )

Sounds better than i expected. I was worried about lossing a cylinder. That whoosh sound though! Great job Ford. Now comes the hard part. Waiting more than a year to come to Australia. Can't complain much, atleast it's coming, unlike a few unlucky countries.

No 2018 Fiesta ST or Focus ST to the States, Ford bean counters pulled the plug on these two models, sucks for us hot hatch enthusiast.

same as the last one, at the end of the production run likely 3 years. Similar to when the Focus RS gets done, at the end of the first cycle before the face-lift.
Hey. I'm a Ford fan. All my cars were Ford. The landscape is magnificent but if you allow me I have a suggestion. If you want to see unique roads, I suggest TRANSFAGARASAN in Romania or TRANSALPINA, also in Romania. Even the makers of Top Gear were impressed. Thank you, Respectfully for your work

Ben Troxell Probably you didn't studied mechanics , 4 cilynders means you a have force every 90° but you can compensate this force with another cilynder. With 3 cilinders you have it every 120° but you can't compensate it. So in long terms in theory the 3 cylinder is less reliable.

Hey Ford Europe, tell your American sibling to put their bean counters on check. You guys finally refresh the alien looking interiors and bring some excitement, and FoA decides to sell the worse handling lifted Focus only.
Pickle Ahoy Ford has betrayed the US again. Of course the Focus did poorly in the previous numbers when it's base model has a shameful DCT which shook confidence in the brand among average consumers. KIA and other opportunistic manufacturers will end up devastating Ford by the time Ford realises that Rally, Drifting, and motorsports of all kinds are gaining popularity and the new generation wants something different from Mom and Dad's SUV or truck. I don't know where Ford found these people who are currently running the US division, but for their sake I hope they left room for rapid flexibility.
I bought the 2018 fiST (NA version) as we in USA are screwed on new fiesta and focus....worse the focus active only version we will see isnt AWD (which kind of defeats the purpose of what they say its for) and unless they give us an engine option like the ST which they aren't ford performance is finished in the u.s (besides mustang too big and bulky for me).....I'll mod my fiST and when my wife buys new in a year and a half I'll be pushing for subaru or Volkswagen as ford now offers nothing I really want well in the u.s. at least

Seige CJ The Mustang has always been the glory car from Ford US, which is fine, but many of us want a more practical kind of performance. There is a call for strong 4 cyl or 6 cyl sedans and hatches and the Focus, Fiesta, and Fusion are nearly all you see on the roads near me. Seriously, there are way less Chevy, Dodge, or any other domestic vehicle in that class. So an extremely popular set of platforms are getting chopped not due to consumer demand, but for profit in spite of consumer demand for the more sporty, fun and fuel efficient car platforms that they have grown to depend on and love. Now there will be no parts, no innovations, no support for the vehicles we so trustingly have purchased which makes them largely into disposable cars that are on borrowed time rather than a long term investment. And that means something to those of us still making payments on our Mk3s, which I would never have purchased had I known this was coming. That's what makes me mad anyway, I'm sure others have their own reasons.

Sorry for this sincere feedback, but I guess we expect some up-to-date content from such a great company wich you are. Still love your cars, but please by all means do something about the image quality of otherwise great videos.
It seems like the new ST is over 150kg heavier than the previous ST which had a kerb weight of 1088KG whereas the new one is 1262Kg... thats not good is it, and did the journalists feel the weight difference, or is it still as agile feeling as the previous gen ST?
got more power than the old one, so the power to weight is pretty close to the old model (158bhp vs 165bhp per tonne). Plus it's got a better diff and a more square stance to the road so if anything it's more agile. Even my new shape ST-Line handles as good as its predecessor
Tom Clayton yes but I feel like the engineers put in the fancy new rear curved springs to compensate for the fact that's it's a lot heavier, surely being heavier will make it feel less Darty and less agile than the predecessor, but as u said, the new suspension might make it difficult to notice the extra weight... An LSD in a car that has 200bhp is a bit unnecessary don't u not think tho
Tom Clayton ya the track width increased by like 148mm... That's a huge difference and has super sports tires!... On an ST haha ford has went all in with this new one!.... But I'm really glad that journalists have been saying that it's just as agile and as happy to get the back out on lift off as the previous gen is so I'm good!
Rejoice Rone As a MP215 owner, this new car adds nothing to me. If I want a quaife LSD I can get it installed on mine.
As you said, the base weight is lighter as well.

Also with the 3 cylinder engine and ford got so much power out of it, I worry abt the long term reliability of the engine, especially ppl buying these r going to thrash it to the red line as often as they can, and it wudnt offer much of a power upgrade from unlike the previous gen cuz it only has 3 cylinders now

I thought Ford said the consumption of the new ST would be 11% lower than the previous ST200 and the emission had estimated around 114 gr/km. I am petrolhead but daily usability concerns me, especially in terms of economy
I get 50 mpg on long motorway runs & 35-36 mpg driving to work old one I got 30 mpg driving to work I think the main thing with the new one is to get in to sixth gear ASAP then start flooring it

The last ford fiesta & focus model got a major gear issue. I went to the workshop twice a year just to change the bloody clutch , motor .. Very irresponsible for the past 8 years Ford company is not doing anything while many complains and lousy invention!!
Scrap... downswing engines are not good for that's way BMW and VW probably go back to Rightsizing engines. 3cylinder newer give good culture of working unit and this vibrations no thanks. Better CO2 emissions that's a myth and proven.
