Such a pleasure to see my local race track in a quality production! It's quite an experience visiting the worlds northernmost track.
However, I would argue that you haven't put any effort in to investigating what the real lap record actually is, which is a shame.

Okey, this is crazy. May 2018 I saw this car at Spa-Francorchamps during the FIA WEC 6 hour endurance race. Little did I then know, as I just found out, that the same car had been just a few miles away from my home the year before! 😯

Man I wish I had the privilege and honor of being there on that road and driving the baddest most beautiful car in the world, the gt. My dream car is the gt40 mk2. But not even that's a reality I could touch. If I could just drive that gt for 5 minutes I would be in tears. What an amazing experience that must be to drive up there and be able to take all that in. That's incredible!!!

other menions you maybe like wil be trollstigen , lysebotn , lofoten , runde and gerianger all in norway.

they should've made the road a bit wider, made a loop at both ends and made a road circuit course for an annual race like N24 - The Arctic 24.. Imagine having prototypes and GT racers going at it with almost 24 hours of daylight..

Arild Guldbrandsen: the record for set is for production cars, the Evo is for street legal cars (with other words tuned cars)
so you could call it a race car with slicks but it was still street-legal with street-legal slicks while the Ford GT is for "untuned" factory cars.

Incredible car in so many ways. But why are the paddle shifters on the steering wheel?
The car is very much intended to be used on tracks. For that purpose, we want the driver to be able to keep his or her hands on the wheel and still change gear so this was the best option.
No actually its not. Some enthusiasts prefer it not mounted to the steering wheel.

Yes, I'm ready to see them too. The 2018 Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE got a 7:16.04 and that's fast for a pony car. Anyways, I can't wait until they show the lap times for the 2017 Ford GT. I live in the US.
Nordschleife and Laguna times please, maybe Anglesey. Silly to go to completely unknown tracks in order to escape the competition.
I would guess at somewhere around 7mins 5 to 7 mins 10. More likely to be closer to the first time I mentioned. We’re talking road trim not BS tuned Cars with extra bit on them of course. Standard tyres etc etc.

The record of 1:41:00 was made in which car? According to Wikipedia a record time of 1:29:8 was made in a Mitsubishi Evo back in 2014 so I'm not quite sure what went wrong here... The GT should've been much faster yet than that...
Colin Finger the quickest car around the track before the Ford GT broke the record was done by an Audi R8 4.2 V8 model the Ford GT did it in like 1:38:29 or something like that so it beat the previous champion the Audi R8!!!!

competition. Wow, the 420hp R8, really?!...and it goes down there from there.
It was the audi r8 not the mitsubishi
for street legal cars the Evo trashed the Ford GT with almost 10 seconds... but that is for "street legal" and the record that the GT set was for production cars.
so clearly that it wasn't just 280bhp in that Evo when it set the record and only cars been faster than it are Formula 3 cars and Touring class race cars.
The front doesn't look like a GT anymore, just another supercar.. the back is beautiful though.

We live not too far away from the Atlantic Ocean Road, however I'm in another city studying at a university for the time being. I got really puzzled when my dad called me and said he passed by "a yellow car with black stripes that looked like a racecar". I later discovered he was talking about this exact Ford GT and I just got super jealous, hahah!

What can the Ford ka do on this track? Asking for a friend...
This record wasn't that impressive to me. It just looked like Ford went after the low-hanging fruit. The previous record that was held on that track was with an 2006 Audi R8, a car that have done just above 8 minutes around the Nurburgring. If I'm just doing the simple math, then that should mean that the initial lap for the Ford GT around the Ring would be 7:30. At least if you judge it from the results from this video.
