- Search warrants obtained by the Texas Rangers show what evidence they've collected about the Uvalde gunman and provide a horrifying glimpse of what officers saw when they first entered the school.
The search warrants allowed investigators to perform a forensic download of the gunman's iPhone, search the pickup truck he abandoned near the school and the home where he was living.
The affidavits say two men first saw the gunman dressed completely in black standing by his pickup and loading a rifle. The two witnesses ran into a funeral home as the shooter fired in their direction and then at the school.
Officers looking for the shooter walked by injured students suffering from gunshot wounds and discovered multiple casualties throughout the hallways and classrooms.
After 18-year-old Salvador Ramos was shot and killed investigators found a black, iPhone 13 Pro-Max next to him.
The warrant says they're searching for text messages, voicemail messages and photographs.
In the truck they collected one rifle and 15 magazines of ammunition, a bloodstain on the center console and DNA swabs.

Just my opinion, but putting a new building on the same site isn't really going to change the fact that this is where it happened. Seems it would make more sense to build on a different site.

I totally agree. The spot the school is on now, should be made into a memorial. Maybe have a large pond with a waterfall and benches with their names. Some place that is beautiful and serene so they are remembered. It would be a good place to remember them, especially for the families. 😔

@@fisterhr I agree it is crazy people that is the main problem, but it would be foolish to totally ignore the impact of said crazy person having a gun. It's easier to run from a knife than bullets. And it's easier to stop someone holding a knife than a gun. And the same can be said for most other weapons used in comparison with guns too.
@@PeteFredrickson Yes, guns are more lethal in that aspect, they should not be banned. Gun control doesn't work. Take Mexico for example on a large scale or places like Chicago and NY on a smaller scale. The reason you don't hear about them killings is because it is mainly black and brown people killing each other, not white "racist" people killing blacks or brown. Guns are needed to protect ourselves from a tyrannical government. Our forefathers knew this simply by studying history. You want to solve problems in America or the world, spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to as many people as possible.
@@fisterhr Mexico doesn't fully ban guns, although it does ban people from carrying them out in public. The people there still have the right to own firearms in their homes for self-defense. Chicago and NY may have stricter regulations on guns than the rest of the US, but again they're not fully banned there either, plus it's easy to get guns from elsewhere and bring them there to commit crimes. If you look at developed countries that do have heavy restrictions or full bans on guns, you will see that they do indeed have a much lower number of gun deaths. I'm not even saying we have to fully ban guns like some countries have. I realize that is just not possible here, but I think adding some new regulations would reduce our number of gun deaths significantly. Take Canada for example, which also doesn't fully ban guns but does have much stricter regulations on them and bans certain types of guns, has a significantly lower number of gun deaths than US. I don't think their policies are perfect either, but if we worked towards something closer to their gun policies it'd be better than what we do now.
Also LOL at the notion that guns will protect us from the government. They have WAY more weapons, and more powerful weapons at that, than us. Our forefathers never anticipated the invention of nukes, missiles, tanks, drones, fighter jets, etc. If our leaders wanted to wipe us all out, they could do so easily. And fictional stories of old are not going to help us either.
The fact that they're terrified to go back in there makes this even more haunting and just horrible, I really feel for the families and the kids who lost both their parents in the same week, RIP to all of the victims

@@chupacabra619 i disagree as a kid and working on with kids there is a lot of kids that actually love or want to go to school because for most school is a safe place. For me i loved school but if a shooting like that happened i wouldn't want to go back. Definitely not at that school. I remember working at a summer camp and a child had drowned when he went swimming. When we went to the pool about a month a later a lot of children did not go because they were scared. And the children that did go stuck by my side the whole time because they were scared.

Elementary schools don’t have SRO’s
I worked at an elementary school once and I will never forget the day I was with students in the computer lab when a frantic office administrator made an announcement over the school system that there was an active shooter and the school was to go into lockdown. The feeling that rushes over you is two-fold; one you cannot believe it is actually happening at the school you work in and second; an immense paralyzing fear overcomes you. What pushed me to snap out of that fear was when the teacher that was in the lab with me looked at me with this look of utter terror then composed herself immediately and looked over at the kids then to me as if saying, "don't panic and don't act scared for the sake of the kids."
I relaxed and sprang into action without looking scared or acting too alarmed. I ran over to the doors and ensured they were locked and the whole time my heart was POUNDING but the teacher and I walked around briskly and told the kids everything was fine and to continue doing what they were doing at the computer. You could tell they were ready to panic but when they saw the two adults in the room calm and speaking slowly in low voices they all relaxed.
Soon there was an announcement that the threat was over and I made my way to the main office because I swear when the office administrator made that initial announcement she sounded TERRIFIED as if someone was approaching her but she was smiling and acting as if nothing happened. I asked if she was OK, anyway, and she said "oh yes. I'm fine." I wanted to ask her why on earth she sounded as if she was staring death in the face in that announcement but I let it go.
Later, I found out there was no active shooter but rather a man with a gun being pursued by police OUTSIDE the school and there was a brief moment when they feared he may have been hiding out inside the school but he never actually came in and nobody was actively firing a gun inside the school. That terrified behavior by the office administrator really got the best of us though. Had she not been so dramatic, we never would've experienced the level of terror we all felt and spared us all that horrible thought of being shot to death at work.
Interestingly, one of the first things I said to myself as I ran toward the doors to see if they were locked was, "Please no. I'm not in the mood of getting shot right now." What a strange thing to tell yourself but the mind doesn't think as it normally does and sometimes odd things come out of your mouth or fill your thoughts. If I could point to one thing that I remember most it was the immense, primal desperation to not get shot. To not feel that new pain that you know is going to hurt a LOT in ways you've never felt before. The impulse is to just get away any way you can but you have a responsibility and mine was with the kids and I think I speak for most teachers and staff that as terrifying as it would've been I would've stayed no matter what.

Rick Ramos This gave me chills & made me cry. I remember my school being on lock down but they never told us why. I found out that there was someone with a gun that could've come in but didn't. Your story brought that up & I can't imagine not going home that day. The world needs more people like you, that are able to face situations no one wants to. It hurts to see the way this was handled but I remember being that student & also that teacher aid when I was teaching for a class as part of my grade attending same school. I was told there was a lock down but the kids didn't & it struck me to my core to be reliving that. I felt like it was my time & it only made sense I did everything I could had it been an active situation. God bless you! Stay safe

The school's "invitation" for the shooter to enter is their sign, "Gun Free Zone". The courts are well protected - and that's the point! The schools need to have singular entry points with trained officers on sight. All doors should be locked and alarmed during school hours. That's all the deterrent that is needed. When we do that, this will end!
My daughters middle school has metal detectors & police that search every student before entering & anyone that comes in the building is in a 10x10 area with a window accessing the office and that’s how all schools should be . The doors are locked and you would have to enter through 2 doors before you can get into where hallways & classes are. This is horrible & they made to many mistakes & acted entirely to slow . But if a cops child was in the classroom I can bet it would have been a different outcome. Those babies were so helpless , I hate even thinking about this 😩

As a parent of children or young teenagers, you have every right to be "intrusive" or nosey into their lives. Obviously something was going on with this young teen and the parents never were aware of ANYTHING. Everyone wants to blame mental illness but there are signs to mental illness. It's so easy to traffic something, everything has a price and everything is negotiable. There r more deaths each year due to drunk driving, so y haven't they fully banned alcohol? All that being said, there's no point in softening up as a species and getting scared of everything.
