- NOT a cassette.
You can get a freewheel remover for less than the cost of a McDonald's value meal here: amzn.to/2kA8Suz

Before cassettes were invented, everyone in my club in the 60s called them clusters. So why people call the old clusters freewheels beats me. All clusters and cassettes allow the wheels to freewheel. And the alternative was a fixed wheel, which used a fixed sprocket.
My 1950's rear wheel has a cluster one side for gears and freewheeling, and the other side has a fixed sprocket. So if my derailleur gears failed or were damaged, we just turned the wheel around and shortened the chain. If you're in the Scottish Highlands, you have to be self sufficient and carry a tool kit.
Didn’t understand a thing… great job !
Vice grips and a spade bit will work for this, just did it this morning.
I also used a cheater bar.
If you have the actual correct removal tool, then a hammer blow to the handle works better.
Thank you mate! This was the only video that gave me the right info and made me unlock that cassette! Thanks!
He just said it’s no cassette !
Are they always Right Handed threads ?
