    When The Kings got Jason , Vlade, Webber they had a practice game for fans called Fandemonium. Not televised but I was there. He was making full court passes. The ball was flying all over the court. We knew we had something new and fresh that night. And for a few years we had some of the most fun basketball to watch.

      @@DDAWGY1 the funny thing was several of the first games weren’t even televised locally. That’s how bad the Kings had been. The games that were televised locally were with Premier teams like the Lakers or the Celtics. Fans would come to the games wearing Lakers jerseys or Celtics jerseys or the bulls jerseys. It was kind of embarrassing. It was so bad that some of the major highlights of the game were televised on the news using the in-house feed that was shown on the Jumbotron. It was grainy and low quality but you could see how great they were.

    He’s being modest as hell about his work ethic. Dude would come through RDV sportsplex and practice passing to the same spot on a wall for about 15 - 20 min. And if you’re on his squad it’s run and gun all day. Solid guy on and off the court

      His points and assists would have been much higher but the BiGGEST REASON is that he was trying to play this way back then, launching like Steph but his coaches were not having it and didn’t encourage it, which if they did they could have brought out the Original version of what we see from Steph , but back then it was so frowned on that if he missed from that deep he’s gonna be out of the NBA
      and J was hitting those in Sac @ 1st but goofy coach was tripping on him so he got scared to keep doing it.
      Completely different times

      whats ironic about j will saying that is in game 6 2006 the dude went 10/10 in the east finals vs the vaunted 04-06 pistons defense led be ben wallace rasheed wallace and taushaun prince richard hamilton lindsey hunter antonio mcdyess and chauncey billups...that shit is legendary he ended ben wallaces time with that team...they were never as good again...they won 64 games that year...miami made them look like nothing lol and they were healthy...thanks to j will putting to shame that defense that tormented the nba for 3 years he torched them that game...

    I'm so glad he explained the play against Gary Payton in full, and how the crossover was set up by a previous play where he pulled up for a jumper. Usually when we watch highlights in a vacuum, we wonder why their moves work so well, when in fact they are usually set up by something that happened earlier.

The Jordans and Currys will bring attention to the individual playmakers, but the players with quick decision making and good focus passing make for some of the most fun teams to watch.     The late "Pistol" Pete Maravich taught me the "elbow pass" and his "ricochet pass" when I performed with him and his Dad Press Maravich in Heidelberg and Mannheim Germany in 1975. Jason reminds me of Pistol 2.0

      @@alli2964 Although Pete was considered a great passer in those days and averaged still holds the highest point total in only 3 years of vasity at LSU while averaging over 44 pts per game, I think Jason brought more of the Rucker playground swag as compared to Pete's small town back yard creativity even though both are from small towns.     Very humble guy. I enjoyed being his teammate from 1999-2000. My brief time on the Sacramento Kings was VERY pleasant because of him even though being the youngest player on the team at the time, and being pushed around a lot by our other teammates who were also awesome, I enjoyed it all!
