I have been upgrading to the grip edge on a lot of things at first i bought the shallow torx socket set in the small case then got sucked on to the cornwell truck and seen the 62 piece set so i got that and brought the torx set from t6 to t60 home for home use lol
Knock on wood i have not broken one yet, i have had snapon torx set and broke many of them!! Specially the t30 for rotors that would brake them fairly often, and potentially round out the fastener and then i would use a chisel air hammer bit punch some lines in the head of it and then air hammer it in a twisting motion at good angle and get it free then flat head
Was on the fence about the rbrt rpt sets then saw the Mac sets were buy 1 get 1 free this past memorial day sale so I ordered them finally. I still have the Gearwrench brand set I've broken a few times but my parts store guys exchange it for me. They are decent if you can find an in store sale.
I’ve had the Mac version for 2 years or more and I can say from experience that this style extractor is the best I’ve ever used and they haven’t failed me once. I’ve used them probably 10 times with the most recent two weeks ago on a Perkins c2 diesel engine removing a broken exhaust mount bolt from the head without heat. With any extractor , there is a technique and you need a little common sense. But these will get the bolt out if it’s possible to thread out. Cool video Clay.
I am in Australia and have tried so many extractor tools over the years...... yep, sometimes you get lucky but even then the tool is had it and they tend to be a one trick pony. I will start looking about to see if I can source them in Aus. otherwise I will try Amazon. Thanks for the content

Golleeeee, look at that wall of Matco 😍 it’s things like that that make me kinda wish I was a mechanic lol. Although, when I trade in my Cornwell Platinum set up and end up with a wall of… Prob Snap On but I’m leaving that open until the time comes. But that will make that flex so much harder lol
It looks like it works well but very expensive compared to $40 icon set at harbor freight. I seen on your favorite tools site on Amazon you have a $75 universal swivel attachment and I got a two piece set (3/8” & 1/2” drive) at harbor freight for $9 with lifetime warranty 🤷♂️

Terrible extractors the first time I used one it snapped and I used the larger size than recommended. The extractor body is to long causing a week spot in the neck. The drill bits are good tho. I paid a lot for them and was not impressed.

Do you also own the Mac Allen RBRT? I’m asking because they look similar, and i wonder if they can be used as extractors instead of buying this set?

Try it on a real bolt that's broken and stuck on? That demonstration is misleading that bolt could of been taken off easy with other tool.
