I miss DC ICONS…possibly the best 6 inch DC figures ever made?

- I saw some DC Icons at a local toy show and it reminded me how great these figures were. It’s a shame DC Direct couldn’t keep them going. They had announced some really nice looking figures that never saw the light of day 😔.

I think if DC Icons had just been slightly taller to fit Marvel Legends scale they would have probably been even more successful. I think one that that probably held the line back was that it didn’t quite scale with 1/12 scale figures
I think you are right in saying it would have been more successful but personally, I was never really too concerned with how they fit in with Legends.
@@UnparalleledUniverse I honestly think most people were. I worked at a comic shop in high school when DC Icons dropped and that’s all customers would talk about. I think because most people lump all heroes into the singular “superhero genre”, people really want DC figures that scale with Marvel Legends
@@UnparalleledUniverse I think when I had them in hand I always thought about how cool they would look next to the Avengers in particular, but they are such great figures in their own right and they came with such well thought out accessories and the price point was so reasonable, the sculpts and paint apps were great too 👍
Same here, I wish they were slightly taller but the sculpts were on point. Deathstroke is still my favorite from that line.

Man. I was sold on Icons. Green Arrow and Blue Beetle were my favorite of the first wave. No reused parts.

@@_INKY_THE_IDIOT That would be terrible because you'd be waiting years for the characters you want, meanwhile they'll have 7 repaints of Batman, when we already have plenty of Batman figures on the market, with the Mafex Hush Batman being the best of them all. Jada is overrated AF and their figures are "okay" at best.

To me, that firestorm is a total wild card. You can use it with mezco, mafex or dcuc.

I really thought this was gping to be the line to take them to the next level i swear i remeber reading they were going to release accessory packs for them which is something legends never did and they were doing it because of that fact but i never saw these guys in retail near me
I dont think these were ever expected to hit MAJOR retail, they were mostly in comic shops.

I just discovered the DC Icons' existence and bought Black Adam. Man! He’s awesome! A perfect fit for the Mafex DC line.

I have Harley Quinn, Batman, Superman, The Flash, Nightwing, & Aquaman. never was able to get that Green Lantern.
Bro! Did you ever try modding the heads on these figures? I love the last rights Batman but I wish he could look up more. Head is on a ball point but I'm not sure how thin the neck peg is. Don't wanna stress the plastic and break it. I learned alot from your ultimate cap mod

Hope Dc Multiverse McFarlane follow this type action figure line. The current Multiverse are just out of my scale. At leasr they do it around 6.3 to 6.5 inch 😭

I miss them too!! They had their fair share of issues, mostly the proportions and articulation, but not a bad series of figures at all; really wish DC collectibles didn’t go bankrupt, especially with all the nonsense and garbage Mcfarlane puts out now. Why must they insist on them being 7 inch scale!!?!?!?!?
Of all my domestic Dc figs, my icons collection will always look best. It’s hard to compete against such figs.

It would have been better if Essentials had all these accessories available I’m glad to still have my essentials . They’re still the best . McFarlane is good but one Batman too many . How about some milestone or New Gods ?
Good, but had serious problems from the get go. They made foolish scale and articulation decisions they later tried to swerve from but were too late. But I still enjoy the ones I own
All them had to do was copy marvel legends articulation set or something like g.i. joe and this line would have been a success

It was a pretty well made line it was just a little bit too small. I think I have six or eight of them and they're nice but they don't scale with anything else

I'm prolly in the minority but I thought this line had possibilities but it came up short. Literally. Too small, bad articulation, kinda flimsy...GLs Armor sucked bc it didn't stay on. Firestorms energy bring thingies didn't either.
