  • The statistics are startling. About 44 percent of women in North Carolina have experienced rape, physical violence or stalking by a husband or boyfriend in their lifetimes, and about 25 percent of North Carolina women have been the victims of domestic violence at some point in their lives.
    The WRAL Documentary, "Enough is eNOugh," examines the problem of domestic violence in the state from the perspectives of both victims and abusers.
    Hosted by WRAL News anchor Gerald Owens, “Enough is eNOough” originally aired Dec. 18, 2014.

    Implementing a program where ankle monitors are placed on abusers when a protection order is issued is BRILLIANT. Otherwise a protective order is useless. Kudos to this police department!

    There are plenty of women in prison for killing their abusers.
    One old lady said she told her husband to stop hitting her and he didn’t listen. She picked up a shotgun and blew his hip out.
    Another young college educated black woman told her boyfriend not to ever hit her again. He didn’t listen. A few days later, a friend of the woman came over to visit.
    She smelled something coming from the closet. She opened the door and the man’s dead body was rotting inside.
    Women kill their abusers quite often. I don’t think they should spend the first day in prison.

      @Confessions089 Před 3 měsíci +2

      I don't believe that they should either and I also don't believe that women should have to kill in self defense because nothing gets done about domestic abuse.

    • @ct7853
      @ct7853 Před 3 měsíci

      Yeah I disagree with that. After an investigation is done, and a trial is held, then a judge or jury should decide how the perpetrator of the crime should spend the next era of their life. Right is right. U don’t get a pass because you’re abused, unless you have been abused unjustifiably so, and that’s everyone that chooses to take the moral high road and choose nonviolent behaviors to resolve n work out their issues. They must prove this in court or whatever. Nobody walks away free. In relationships things are pretty tricky, but it usually takes 2 people to sink that ship, but only one to create that initial disturbance of relationship harmony. These statistics are skewed, and if it’s researched by feminists, then I Really question if there’s motive or an agenda to mislead or misinform. That usually is the case.

      Search a crisis shelter in your area. That’s how my mom got away. Friends and family may not understand how serious it is but the shelter will. I was 7 but I remember we went to a parking lot and volunteers picked us up. We could not be told the address of the house or anything because it was completely secret. There were other women and children there and counselors. We stayed a while and then they helped us leave the state. It was a real commitment, because we never went back home. I never saw my cousins or friends or pets or toys again. But we were safe. It’s really hard, I hope you the best. If I could I would come get you myself ❤❤❤

    Here’s my 10 cents; my 2 sense is free! Always know, and remember there was a time when males were off to work, and females were home, up until the late 80’s to 90’s when they boomed from the homes, and out into the job markets in complete full force, and closing the gaps. There were abusive fathers, and there were men that abused or sexually assaulted. Who do you think often monitored kids, and watched over them at nurseries or daycares etc????
    Women or females. A lot of boys are messed up today because of it. Girls or females as well. Before we believe everything we read or watch, we may want to analyze, and rethink. This in no way excuses any behaviors at all. This isn’t common sense, it’s just sense that we can all think for ourselves and not be blinded, or beguiled or even biased for or towards certain groups. I can’t fully trust statistics simply because all the info could be Tampered with or set to rouse an agenda. Can’t be trusted unfortunately and that’s sad, because how can we know the truth completely.”

      Yes, some men do, but it's very rare. Not everyone with ADHD, treated or untreated, will be abusive. I assume you're talking about yourself since this seems specific. I truly hope that you have changed and have changed for good. A lot of people that "change" are only like that temporarily. It depends on what they did. If they did what the guy in the video did, then I think they should be locked up for a long time. However, if they hit their significant other once and never did it again, I think that's much more forgivable.

      It depends on the individual situation. In any case, lets say the man or woman who engaged in active violence at on time has stopped, that's a good thing. But it also should be understood that the relationship is dead. And that they must release the person they abused to pursue their own future. No , one does not have to pay their entire lives- unless they killed or crippled someone.
