- I was giving the opportunity to try out the Graff diamond cut off wheel in my shop recently. I'm always interested in finding new ways to improve the efficiency in my shop.
Here's an Amazon link to the Graff Diamond cutt off wheel

“A” on the video, “B+” on the hair Doug🤘
I'll have get on the make up and hair department to step up their game 😊
Thanks for the information. I have seen a diamond blade like that being used for alternating between brick and steel in the field which saved the hassle of changing blades but I had no idea what they were like on only steel so thanks for showing it.
I can totally see how that would be a good dual purpose blade out on a job
Thanks for the video Doug The only use I can think of for using the diamond wheel. is when you are going to tig weld at a high standard. With the grit wheel you have to then clean out the contamination the grit wheel left behind.
That's a really good point. I have another diamond wheel that has the grit on the flat side of the wheel as well as the edge and that's what use it for
Diamond blades are great for rock, tile, composites like fiberglass, and other hard, abrasive materials. Carbide teeth seem to be a better choice for metal (with the right tool).
I'd agree with you👍
Good honest review 👍
Thanks 😊👍
I use diamond wheels for cutting stone (not the same as that metal one). With those types of wheels you can "sharpen" them by running them in something abrasive, like a cinder block. Perhaps yours needs to be sharpened. It's not actually sharpening. If the blade becomes glazed over, running it in something abrasive will help wear away the matrix that holds the diamonds, to expose new sharp diamonds.
I have one of those diamond cut off disks from Lennox in my stash but have yet to use it. I keep waiting for the 'right' application.
That's good to know about the "sharpening", I'll give it a shot
Great Test on the Diamond Blade , your hair did better than the Blade , Ha Ha Ha .
Great too Hear about the Bus 👍👍👍👍👍
Haha thanks Barry
@@ArtfullyRogue Merry Christmas Doug 🎅👍
@@barryphilrush719 Merry Christmas to you and Marlene as well
I only use diamond blades for tile cutting.
That's the only time I've used a diamond blade as well.
how much do the diamond blades cost though
as much as i like my 28 115mm grinders , its hard these days not to own a plasma
Tom these particular blades are right around $20, I have an Amazon link in the description
ohh the sounds of the water and the birdies 💚 My buddy Tools did a review on the Graff discs as well ... czcams.com/video/VuTCby9epe0/video.html
I'll check it out. It will be good to see what someone else thought of it
Diamond cutoff wheels, aren't they really more intended for use on ceramic tile and glass? I've never tried cutting steel with one. Additionally, I wonder if using a bit of water would help. As to the regular cut off wheels, I recently purchased about 50 off of Wish. They're made for a 5/8 inch arbor so I can still use them in my grinder. Think I paid a little over a buck a piece for them. They seem to work about as well as the regular kind. Cheers.
I definitely used them for tile. Apparently Graff designed this particular cut off to cut metal. I used it for about a month and once you get through the honeymoon period which cuts fast and clean, it settles in to slow and clean
@@ArtfullyRogue How much does one go for? Or did I miss it in the video.
I think they're about $20 on Amazon
@@ArtfullyRogue Mmmm....kind of a toss up as far as cutting steel goes. I wonder how they would do if you're cutting alloys, or cast iron? I find the abrasive cutting wheels a bit sluggish in cast. Thx for the info, though. Cheers!
