First youth game I ever saw live was the youth cup final, the whole game me & my dad couldn’t stop raving about how good Mainoo looked, so calm & composed, never panicking, just class.

Additional speed & quickness can be gained. After watching how ready to go Rashford was last season after an offseason at Nike, it’s sad that going to a facility like that is necessary. United’s trainers “should” be capable of adding 20% to Mainoo’s physical capabilities.
It’s just too bad United overall training staff is SO antiquated… then again, I wonder if this is a league-wide issue.
Portugal England combined for me: Sa, Dias, Stones, Guerreiro (or Cancelo), Walker, Palinha, Rice, Jude, Leao, Kane, Saka.

The over confidence of England fans is mental. On paper the squad looks mint but the obvious problems are at the back and they'll be exposed at the Euros. The keeper is an accident waiting to happen -- look at him at the last Euros. Also, the mental part of this team is the likes of Ollie Watkins (who'll probably be unused of won't go) would walk into most national teams considering the lack of proper strikers out there -- look at Germany & Spain etc. '90s England all over again but with a modern spin.

Shearer was quick at Southampton but he got a bad injury and had to adapt to playing with less pace. I think he'd have adapted, whatever the playing style was at the time.
Walker, TAA, Rice, Bellingham, Stones, Kane, and then maybe even Saka and Foden have realistic or even strong shouts to be the best in their positions. I think because we watch them week in week out we underestimate how good they are. Use Bellingham as the example of how he is universally loved, meanwhile people talk about Foden, Saka, Grealish, Rashford, Shaw etc like they are trash.

Players are developed and trained in the era they play in: it's impossible to imagine what they might be like if they'd developed and trained in a different era. Players develop physically differently now than they did 20-30 years ago.

Essentially, looking at France and Portugal v England's squad of players. I think the only hands-down starters that England have are Kane and Bellingham. On the right and left up top, I think Mbappe and Silva beat any England winger. In the middle I think Rice and Camavinga or Tchouameni kick anyone else out. At the back, France CBs are just better than Stones and Maguire. RB definitely Walker and at LB is Shaw is a 100% fit then he gets in. At Keeper Magic Mike from France takes it. So imo England gets 4 - 5ish players in.
Saying England overrate players has always been true but this time it's false. The potential in a Rice-Mainoo-Bellingham midfield is outrageous. Kane up top, Foden, Saka, Rashford, Eze etc as wide options. Stones in the form of his life, great RB choices, Luke Shaw fit in time. Their starting line-up is the best in the tournament.

Lots of teams have a good chance at the Euro's. France, Germany, Spain, Portugal are all just as good as England
England would have a lot of players in a combined 11 with Portugal.
Grealish Kane and Saka would all start over Leao Ramos and Silva.
Bellingham Rice and Mainoo over fernandes palinha and nunes.
Only Diaz gets in at cb as the only definite Portugal player in the 11.
