That was beautiful! Amoebae are my favorite things to watch. Some are so small, even at 40X, they're too small to record properly. This one is a beauty! My guess is that you left the video at normal speed, not increased at all. It looks like he swallowed a treasure of jewels. Lovely.

      Hello.
I'm very glad you liked this video.
I also like watching amoebas, but I see them quite rarely. Perhaps because of their small size, they are easy to miss. Despite this, I still hope that one day I will observe some spectacular event related to amoebas (e.g. eating some microorganism)..
You're right - the video plays at natural speed.
The internal contents shimmer with different colors and look like a phase contrast observation, but it's all a bright field.
I will continue to look for wonderful amoebas.
      Regards

@@akrydor1268 I have created an "amoeba farm" following Oliver's suggestions. For a while, it was doing pretty good, not many larger amoebas, but decent amount of smaller ones. Then, the farm was overrun with Euglenids, Coleps Hirtus, and other very populous protists. I am hard pressed to see amoebae at all! However, last week I went to the river, found a stick in the water on the bank, took it home and broke it into smaller pieces to fit into another container. Yep! Success! No large ones yet, but no Euglenids and Coleps either! LOL!
Looking forward to your next video!
