Chengdu’s Amazing Teahouses (Renmin GongYuan, HeMing Teahouse, Pengzhen Guanyin Pavilion + more)

We set out on our bamboo bikes in the city of Chengdu to explore the amazing world of tea. Here are some facts we found out along the way:
- Southwest China is the birthplace of tea
- Sichuan is the first place tea was cultivated
- Chengdu has more teahouses than any other city in China (or the world)
- The ‘Three Religions,’ Daoism, Buddhism and Confucianism all encouraged tea ceremonies since the Tang dynasty
- There’s no better place in the world to experience tea culture than Chengdu!
