- In this video, our local Chengdu friend, Troy takes us to an incredible tea house which is over 100-years-old. We were lucky enough to speak to the owner about the history and culture of the teahouse.
Troy runs an Instagram account all about Chengdu so if you are heading there then make sure to check it out! / chengdumemo

I like that. Really I like things of the old. I miss a lot of the old tea shops and old nostalgic vibes you don't get at all from the modern coffee shops.
Totally agree and I think Chengdu has some really beautiful ones.
Great heart warming episode!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go back to China and do more contents like these upon the completion of your road trip in NZ !!!
So happy you enjoyed it! We hope to go back to China soon.
Wow that place is amazing. You're right, a lot of places in China seem to be getting rid of the old and building shiny/flash/new - but that tea house is special because of this old style
Yeah it is so cool right! I'm so happy to still see it thriving!
Going back in time.❤👍
Let this channel grow.
🙌🙌🙌
wow so amazing, chengdu it's a paradise on earth!
It is such a great city!
Wow! The boss was like a DJ spinning tunes out of the kettles! Too cool for school!
He was awesome! Knows how to please the crowd.
i like this kind of place, so quite and so chill
really miss chengdu and this tea house 🥲 haven't been back for 3 years...
thanks for sharing
I love Chengdu so much and this was certainly one of the most interesting places we went.
Man I miss going to a good teahouse with my relatives in China, sitting there for a few hours with Father and law and relatives.
Yes you can literally sit there for hours!
this place is amazing. thank you for showing us
Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed it!
Unique travel destination in Chengdu.
Such a great place to visit!
This is my favourite video from you two. The story line, location and cinematography - just fantastic!
Wow, thank you! I'm so happy you enjoyed it!
"... businesses and consumers are always looking for the next trend. But sometimes the best way to stand out from the crowd is to stick to your principles.Trends come and go but this place is timeless." I love these types of places.
Ah, it’s Guanyin temple teahouse in Pengzhen, I haven’t been there even I am a Chengdu local. Not just this teahouse, a lot places like schools and hospitals in Sichuan and Chongqing used to be temples, it’s amazing sometimes you could feel the traces of history from these places.
I'm Chinese, l really love this video, thanks for sharing!
Charging the locals only 1 yuang which is around 12 cents. Good heart and very kind
so real!
Sorry Nico, going to Chengdu in 2 weeks time. Where exactly is this place? Would love to visit it
It's in the village of Pengzhen. If you search Pengzhen tea house you can find more info about it and the location etc hope that helps!
Another amazing one !!!!
I love love loved this episode
I’m so looking forward to visit China 🤞🏼hopefully sooner than later
Thank you
Sabrina

Thank you so much I'm so happy you enjoyed it! Was such a cool place. When are you hoping to go?
@@Nicofilms I was hoping this autumn they have such good prices with BA from London I’m not sure if you are back in the Uk 🇬🇧 but defo check it out or I was thinking spring early summer next in 2024 … Any recommendations on best time of year?
Amazing thanks for the tip I will check them out. I would definitely recommend Autumn or Spring in China. Try to avoid Summer as it gets super hot and Winter can be really cold depending on where you go. But Spring and Autumn are perfect but try to avoid the national holidays as they can be a bit busy! @@sabrinastraveladventures4263
@@Nicofilms Hey Nico, I just have one question for you. What is the meaning behind the famous red dragon in China? I always wonder about this lol.
Thanks!
Thank you so much! That is very kind of you!
What a great video!!
really appreciate the dedication of this teahouse owner to his community❤
Chairman Mao is timeless.
Yes
Definitely a must visit, for everyone. This reminds me of my childhood.
I love the culture and how all the locals treat it like a second home ❤
It was such a nice place to go!

Your friend/guid speaks excellent American English. Wonder where did he learn it? 😊❤
🙂🙏👍🙏🙂
hello troy...😂❤🌹🍁🌿🌴🍂🏵️💐🤣
are you come back to China yet?
Not yet we will let you know when we do!
The land you and jacks soul is connected with
It sure is!
I like your videos about Chengdu so much! But this time there were to much pictures of communist leaders and also the fact that this teahouse was once a temple mad me sad. But the video was very interesting and I enjoyed it.
Thanks a lot I'm pleased you enjoy them. Unfortunately we can't control what was on the walls or what it used to be but I'm happy to see the building still thriving even though the function has changed.
Nice ! What’s the name of this place ?
