You know what time it is… Epic drag race time!! Mat’s in the Porsche Panamera Turbo S e-hybrid, and he’s lining up against a Nissan GT-R NISMO & an Audi RS6!
So how do they compare on paper? Well with a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 coupled with an electric motor, the Porsche is the most powerful car here, with the ability to put down 700hp & 870Nm of torque! On the far end, the Audi RS6 is powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 which can produce 600hp & 800Nm.
Then we come to the GT-R NISMO. Technically it’s the least powerful car here, as it can ‘only’ produce 600hp & 650Nm from its 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6. However, it has one key advantage over the Panamera & RS6… It’s a whole lot lighter! Coming in at 1,745kg, it’s almost 600kg lighter than the Porsche!
Will such a difference in KG be enough to power the NISMO to victory? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

@@hashmethlee_yavuz Correct, the WRX would just blow a gearbox or headgasket, Evos have snappy acceleration but not a heap of top end and the Skyline would be ahead.

Having never ever seen a real GTR on the street, I was suprised just the other day when I saw one in a absolutely stricking pure sun gold color on a set of switchbacks...he was coming down the hill and i was going up and I'll tell ya, it is a head turning car for sure! that aint no ordinary Nissan, thats for damn sure! what a beast!

Because it's not the same gtr that launched in 2007 with 480hp. Gtr engine is upgraded almost every year with the same exterior
@@M_H_H Not changed at all since 2013. The 2016 model is the same as the 2013 model, they just upped the max. revs from 6400 to 6800, causing it to gain +20HP and +5Nm of torque. Also, the curve-band since 2007 was at peak torque at 3200-5200RPM. Now, it's increased to 3300-5800 RPM. You can buy a 2007 GTR Nismo and ECU-tune it to match a 2017 (latest model) GTR Nismo. At most, you need to upgrade to the slightly larger turbo they use now and that's it. However, what Nissan had been upgrading over the years was not peak-performance for dragracing, but for track-use. Porsche makes the 992 Turbo S for daily-driving (dragstrip king) but their track version, the GT2 and GT3 are slower on the dragstrip than the daily 992 Turbo S. They are track versions, just like this GTR Nismo.
@@Henry_Jr_Watsson upped the max rev is consider upgrade. The conclusion is it not the same gtr that launched in 2007.

10.8 for an OEM saloon is freaking fast (remember: GT63S and M5 around low 11s).
The older Turbo S E-Hybrid always was a bit too heavy to have a chance against the other performance saloons, but now it has enough grunt to maybe even smoke an M5 Comp LCI in a carwow drag race

Test drive one, a 911 turbo, and pending on the budget either the 458 or 488. I thought the gtr was fantastic. The Ferraris were the best driving experience. And the 911 was the best overall package.

Can we just all agree that porsche is the best sports car/super car brand in the world now? Nurnburgring lap records, near sub 10 second drag race times, an electric car that just keeps delivering (unlike teslas).

And it's the old (full stock) GT-R version. Impressive. And the Nismo is a track car with downforce, not for drag racing. This car is more impressive on a circuit. It's like saying a Porsche GT2RS is a drag car when it's not ; )
Example, a Turbo S is faster on the 1/4 mile than a GT2RS. But the RS or even other cars including the Nismo GT-R would destroy the Turbo S by far on a track with professionnal drivers. Tsukuba is a great example among many others
Straight line is not true racing. Watch FIA GT3, Super GT etc if you like competitive racing. And the GT-R is always on top of the list even recently.
The GTR survived 15 years and still is one of the fastest cars,the engineering of that car was way ahead of its time ❤️❤️
