    I think the massive 'benefit' that you may not have mentioned is "chipping and pitching" - when your hands are solid, when you chip, and if the club "hits slightly before the ball", the head just keeps going ( because your hands absorb the blow to the ground especially on any iffy lie)....your stress reduces considerably, your arms relax ( really your nervous system can chill out).. you become EXTREMELY confident around the greens. This has taken my chipping to a whole new level. WOW. Thanks.

    “Trail palm to lead thumb knuckle”. I had to watch this video several times before I fully understood it. I realized my trail palm was below the knuckle causing the club to be more in my fingers. This small adjustment makes a big difference! Thank you.

    Great video guys, thank you. Quick question on the trail hand positioning please, specifically the the need for the pinky pad on the side of the grip.... love this feel and will use it going forward. I feel I have to switch to an interlocking grip (I've always overlapped) though to achieve this. Is that correct? (Ie my lead index needs to be out of the way when gripping). Thanks, Dom

    • @claws_effect
      @claws_effect  Před 3 měsíci +2

      I would say we don't require an interlocking grip perse' however, it is def the most common grip among our students and people here at Claw. It just helps unify the hands is what we have found.
      Thanks for the kind words!

  • @eliot1c
    @eliot1c Před 2 měsíci +2

    Great video
    When I overlap grip I don’t get my pinky pad on the club. When I interlock I can get the pinky pad on the club. Overlap feels more comfortable. Should I just get comfortable with the interlock grip. Thanks and please keep this great content coming

    • @claws_effect
      @claws_effect  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Great question, Eliot! I would say I would go for the interlock grip and just try to get comfortable with it. That pressure with the pinky pad down on the grip is very important, so if that's easier with interlock grip, then I'd go through the uncomfortable phase for a little bit.

  • @paintings4849
    @paintings4849 Před 3 měsíci +2

    This video is fantastic.. so comprehensive and thorough yet explained very clearly throughout its duration. One question: how much leeway do you allow for the direction of the trail hand v? When I follow the pointers given here, I still have a tendency for the trail hand v to point more towards the middle of my chest (my right hand naturally seems to want to rest a little more on top of my left thumb knuckle instead of on the side). I have a bit of forward press at address too. Do you think that that's ok? Thank you for any help and amazing video once again!

    • @claws_effect
      @claws_effect  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Appreciate the kind words! I'm glad you liked it and found it helpful. As for the V, there can't be much leeway bc where that v points determine the direction the pressure is being applied to the handle. If that V gets too on top, then you will be in the top handle too much and not on the side enough, affecting your ability to drive the trail side of the golf club down the line. Does that make sense?

    Can you make a claws effect golf glove where the area the club is supposed to go is colored / outlined?? There used to be basketballs with hand prints where your hands should be when shooting. This would be the golf version with a line on each glove where the grip should be.

  • @AronblocksU
    @AronblocksU Před 3 měsíci +1

    This is what I find is the simplest way to grip the right hand. The slap is very good for showing what the right hand is supposed to do but can be confusing to use to grip. So try putting your right hand in the shape as if you are hitchhiking. With the thumb side up point the thumb down as if you are pointing at someone’s feet in front of you. Open your fingers enough to hold the handle of the club. Put the club in the fingers then take the left hand and tuck the thumb under the right hand pad and make sure the club goes in the fingers of the left hand. This will put the club across the right hand pad just like the slap grip. Hope this helps. I find showing people this way to grip the club they catch on almost immediately

    • @claws_effect
      @claws_effect  Před 3 měsíci

      We've seen a lot of talk about "slap" for getting the proper placement. Just be careful you are slapping the side of the handle and not on top of it too much.

    • @AronblocksU
      @AronblocksU Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@claws_effect As long as you have the right hand index trigger finger it’s hard for people to get on top too far. I learned the right hand grip by swinging the club with just the right hand.

      @@claws_effect Great, thanks for the clarification! I’m still getting used to my grip change but it’s helping already. My chipping and wedge game has improved a lot. Still working out the long irons and driver. I stumbled upon this grip accidentally by studying max Homa, Jason day, Tiger, and Scottie’s swings. Scottie’s coach said he loves to see the lead hand thumb completely covered by the trail hand. It made sense right away. The club felt so secure in my hands and I was able to hinge it properly.
