Focusing Muscle Spasm: Eye Strain Problem? | Endmyopia Q&A | Jake Steiner

  • The Jake Origin Story: I grew up with glasses, 5.00 diopter high myopia, and yet today have 20/20 natural eyesight. No surgery, no glasses, I figured out how myopia actually works and how to reverse it (and no, not eye exercises!) The mainstream tells you it's impossible - but the whole concept that myopia is an illness, is complete unscientific nonsense (a 100 billion dollar a year profitable nonsense, though).

    Seems like the more hydrated I am the faster spasm leaves

    Been wearing reading glasses since 2019 and was able to reduce my myopia from -4.5 down to -2 diopters

    I got to a point where I made both eyes the same. My left eye is probably-.25 weaker than my right. I have differential glasses for my time at home. I am fairly unhappy in my life and severely addicted to my stupid smartphone, so I am hesitant to reduce again. I am fairly confident that I have had convergence Insufficiency since childhood. I was told that I had a learning disability but tested out of special classes and tutoring as I got older. I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who received vision therapy for convergence Insufficiency. It makes sense to me that my balance and coordination are very bad. I often think that I should be doing more with my life but maybe I expect too much from life.

    Hey everyone!
    Iam having little doubt about the differential and normalised g. I am not able to understand whether I should use normalised with (0.25D correction)or differentials (1D)
    Because When I use normalised glasses while doing house chores . my eyes feel like..they are hurting and when I use differentials.. I feel that itgives too much blur.
    My normalised are 3.25 with 0.25 correction.

    • @tkhankhoje39
      @tkhankhoje39 Před rokem +1

      Use normlised but try to clear up tiny and challenging blurs most of the time rather than looking things ultra clear

    Jake my 8 years son has -2 in both eyes. He can read 12 size font(arial font) from 95cm. How long he should practice of reading text in a day???

    • @maxstyne
      @maxstyne Před rokem +2

      He should practice active focus and do activities where he looks into the distance. Drone flying, football, frisbee,… Always look more into the distance than close up and see how your/his vision adapts

    Actually think this one makes much better points about reductions than spasm, great stuff there, though title wouldn’t have indicated that content... and based on the comments here so far you might not ever see this one 😅

      @@endmyopia something about how to reduce and why, (sorry not feeling particularly clever at the moment, maybe something will come to me later). Granted the title addresses the opening topic but I really love the points made after you moved to the next question and you detail priming the cortex, and why we stagger cyl reduction etc. Great stuff really!

    Is active focus useful for light astigmatism also, or does it work only for myopia

    • @endmyopia
      @endmyopia  Před rokem +4

      Less so. Slightly different practice, looking for simple lines and just 'staring' at them (gently, don't strain) and watch the brain move the lines around -hopefully aligning them.

    Eye strain from your focusing muscle is where your eyesight problems originally started.

      Not likely, biology is complex and quick “fixes” make more problems. Your eyes almost certainly didn’t get that bad in that time frame, how could you hope they would get better so fast?
