Called it "stare repair" in the shop. Chin rubbing helps. Standing on the stairs whilst staring might not work for fabbing though. Carry on mate.
Mr. Matt at BleepinJeep, not that I like or associate with jags. But 87-88 cars came with a Dana 44 center and cars made before and after those years came with a Salisbury rear end, and all parts are interchangeable such as internals. Probably why the racing scene loves them so much.
Well I can't seem to sell this rear end
They're great, independent and limited slip, but only good for extremely light cars as they have like 2.97 gearing also they have funky inboard brakes known for setting the stick gas tanks aflame

You have a lot of skill, so make a weight box for the quick hitch on your tractor. Your front axle will thank you.
I am with the new guy, pull the front fenders from the jag and cut the front frame off it. Then make mounts for the fenders to the dodge frame. I think it will be simpler that way.

Man you would benefit from building a counterweight for that tractor to keep the rear end planted. Mine is just a plastic 55g drum with some framing built through it to hook to my 3 point and filled with concrete. Makes it way more planted when lifting with the forks
Rear diff is a Salisbury which is a Dana 44 built under license in the UK.

This build reminds me of the '70's film Harold and Maude where Harold goes at an E-type Jag and turns it into a wicked hearse. I think this project is going to be beautiful when finished. Gets my On X build vote!

Theres 2 tanks in the rear, in the wings outside the boot... this isnt bad, i like it... but combined with the inboard rear brakes when they stick and get red hot... 🔥
You need to look into a ballast box for the back of your tractor. A counterweight on the rear will make things much safer.

Matt, try ZEP purple industrial cleaner for cleaning engines and engine bays. It works amazing! No joke.

@bleepinjeep that's a good question! I work on outdoor power equipment and I wash everything before I work on it. Been using the Zep, full strength, for the last 10 years. It will make a nasty old chainsaw or mower look brand new again.
Just remenber to Ware cloves. That stuff will mealt your skin.

It's amazing how CZcamsrs always cut cars the hard way. Three times I saw this mess.
They cut the top part and leave the bottom part last, making the last cut very difficult and dangerous. Leaving the top part last is easier, cleaner and gravity does all the work.

Disappointing that you're not using the rear end of the Jag. Two things make a Jag distinctive: front hood and overall silhouette, which requires both front and rear shapes.
