    Thank you for this. The only thing that would make it better would be a link to the disassembly video mentioned at the end of this video.

    Worked perfectly. I used mine on a 35 pound anvil with a paper towel over it to prevent any scratches.

    I did mine without this tool and it wasn't too bad. It just requires good coordination and a solid work bench. Used a Dewalt punch to get it started and finished it with a smaller punch. Putting the pin back in was easier than removing. Probably saved about $50 from buying the fixture or about $100 from gunsmithing fees, plus I gained the experience from doing it myself.

    Just got my fixture and trigger. It worked a treat. Cheers. Keep up the great work.

    Think of this as a REQUIRED tool to remove the pin. PERIOD. Especially if the pin has never been removed. The risk of bending the pin-punch then damaging the polymer frame is too high. Think of this tool as an insurance policy on your frame. It's very well made with tight tolerances. With this tool, you can safely remove the pin (With a lot of force) and install the Apex Trigger Kit. :)

      It is indeed essential for working on the FN 509.

    Can anyone tell me what the holes in the frame below the barrel are for? They just seem like an odd design compared to glocks.

    DO NOT TRY WITHOUT FIXTURE. I followed the video that shows you how to do it without the fixture. Even after a blew the backside of the frame off, I try to beat the freaking thing out, to NO AVAIL!! Even after I didn't care about the now broken frame.

    • @apextactical
      @apextactical  Před 3 lety +1

      For triggers, we're waiting on trigger bars and sears. On the fixtures, we have a ton of them in process right now and it should be within the next couple weeks we have 104-130 back on the site.

      @@TheKjpearson 👍Yup. Inventory is catching back up. I picked up the fixture and a black trigger directly from Apex about three months back, and an FDE trigger from Midway a few weeks ago.
      I’m glad I bought the fixture. I’m new to doing my own maintenance, but taking the front pin out was a breeze. Made quick work of the whole job, and these new triggers makes range time quite enjoyable.

    I wonder if people still cracking frames using this,are just hitting the pin off center and cravking them with the punch.
    Mine took about 3 good whacks to start loose and 3 good whacks to get it to start to go in after i had it back in half way wirh easy taps.

    • @darknature79
      @darknature79 Před rokem

      Or I bet they beat the pins back in with the locking block out and nothing to support the frame.

    • @apextactical
      @apextactical  Před 5 lety +8

      You can do it with a roll of tape and a punch, we certainly have. But people have had problems removing the factory pin, so we designed this fixture. It's not required, it just helps with the process.
