With the dumb engineering design for the back latch and the dealers ripping you off charging anywhere from $300-$500! You can spend $0 if you have something laying around to do this!
I’m glad it helped! Was getting frustrated at all the dumb videos without any clear instructions! Had to figure it out myself after coughing up $500 at the dealership!
Yeah this is a common problem and I was amazed at how so little information was out there to clearly explain the problem! Or anyone to show how the mechanism worked! Was so frustrating!
@@jasonyaj7536 Thank you my dear .. I will try to go to the spare parts store until I make sure of the part, but my lack of time is the problem, so I asked to order it directly from the internet if its price is cheap

Thanks! Just what I needed to know!
Yeah I’m shock to see so many videos out there not explaining anything valuable
Great tutorial Bro thank you
Wonder if it’s the same for the Ext 2004 having issues wit mine too.
Could be, only way to tell is to remove the cover.
2008 Avalanche But I did not find the part for the tailgate handle!
If you know the part number please advise me :)
The 08 changed. 02-04’s are the same. You might have to keep googling or go talk to local auto store

how did you modify the latch to fasten those rods with nuts? those plastic retaining clips are the dumbest thing I've ever seen
I just found some small nuts I had laying around and it screwed right in.
