With the dumb engineering design for the back latch and the dealers ripping you off charging anywhere from $300-$500! You can spend $0 if you have something laying around to do this!

They want $3-400 for this hatch tail lamp? So the clips broke off and I just super glue it then used a solder iron to melt the plastic around it!

The pointy clips are just the bolts that came off. If that’s what you’re referring too?

how did you modify the latch to fasten those rods with nuts? those plastic retaining clips are the dumbest thing I've ever seen
I just found some small nuts I had laying around and it screwed right in.
Is that a soldering gun? Where did u get it? I broke 3 of the tabs on mine!!!

Yeah this is a common problem and I was amazed at how so little information was out there to clearly explain the problem! Or anyone to show how the mechanism worked! Was so frustrating!

The 08 changed. 02-04’s are the same. You might have to keep googling or go talk to local auto store
