  • The IPL transformed cricket from a game struggling to find a future to one of the most valuable sporting assets in the world. But while top men's players have become millionaires, women players have struggled to make ends meet. The launch of a women's league could be life changing for India's women cricketers but also change the game around the world.

India needs to be at the centre.

Without a league indian women's team is better than England looking at results of last few years. australia are still the number 1 team but india is the only team who have defeated them this calendar year. Women's ipl will help india become the number 1 team.

I Have an objection with worng map used here and just the backward images of India..(as always)
Grow up West grow up... We do have certain backward portions that are shown in your video but we also have good grounds as well, where we ordinary people just go to play... Those aren't for any professional players but the local go there and play for fun.....
    PS:
If you've been to New York then you can relate... It is just like someone go to the New York and talk about how bad it's smells on the streets of New York... Or specifically go for shots of the rural and poverty area of USA...

This is only the case because cricket is being watched by Indians who are also the most populated nation in the world. They have been trying hard to break into the China market but the Chinese govt knows what the genie in the bottle is, especially when it is essentially a colonial sport from British empire. Like most billaionaire they put their agenda in a way that it benefits everyone when in reality it only benefits them the most!

Equal pay for women cricketers by BCCI is an amazing step. Game is same whether it is played by men or women. Intensity was different when it came to matches between men and women. But now we have players like Harmanpreet Kaur who is playing like Sehwag who can hit 6s with ease and fielding and athleticism is also increasing in the game. It is for BCCI to market the WIPL and make it a huge success as cricket fans will watch if ticket prices are set correctly and matches are held regularly. Hope is that with such incentives women players can win against Australia in Gabba within next 5-10 years. Men team took only 60 years to win at Gabba. So no pressure.
