Welcome back to yet another Mortal Kombat video!
Now In todays history of episode I will be talking about a former general of Outworld and blood god, Reiko
I hope you enjoy this video and It teaches you everything you need to know about Reiko!
The general has always been one of those MK4 gems that sadly slipped away from the limelight once he debuted so It was really nice coming back and giving him alittle love, I espcially enjoyed what they did with him for the Mortal Kombat X comic book series!
Now whilst they may be retconned I still wanted It to be a part of this video as Its still somewhat pseudo canon to the series!

They REALLY dropped the ball with this character. In the comics he gained the power of a god. I would have preferred him as a final boss than Kronika and her bald ass head

Yeah. Would have liked Reiko to be the final boss to continue off MKX instead of Kronika. I just never cared for er as a villain and thought they had enough personal beef with Reiko to want to stop him.
Reiko have potential to be the next big thing if NetherRealm smart enough to go that route.

Reiko is just one of many fuckups that movie did to the lore
I absolutely hated how they handled Reiko. It actually soured the movie for me. That and a bunch of the 3rd act

Originally Reiko was supposed to have been intended to be a reincarnation of shao kahn(john tobias original intent for the character)but was scrapped into being a general for shao kahn,obsessed with Taking his throne

Reiko is coming to mortal Kombat 1
Reiko is a mini Shao Kahn his character should should have been explored more.

He is I seen him do similar moves to him too. But in MK4 he doesn’t but in his arcade ladder ending it shows him wears Shao Khans’ mask as he sits on the throne.
That’s why he’s such a dumb character lol

Reiko was one of the best players in Mortal Kombat Gold for the Dreamcast! I hope to see him in a Kombat pack or a new installment!

I liked his character ever since he was first introduced in MK 4, wished he appeared in games. Even if they want to keep the comics canon they could still bring him back, they've killed off and brought back plenty of other characters, maybe he did achieve godhood, whether Havik knew it or not, and while his body was destroyed and the amulet taken he could still have enough power to pullhimself together. He was just weakened so it took him awhile. Another idea would be the Reiko we saw die was a fake or illusion but that doesn't quite fit him and what fits him even less is him not coming back already if he did that. I liked how they had Havik and Reiko working together in the comics as they're probably my favorite 2 non regular characters.
We need a modern open world shaolin monks/deception conquest mk game. This fighting franchise really has enough roots for a big great story game, maybe not a skyrim or witcher big story but atleast a devil may cry sized story adventure.
I remember getting mk4 for n64 on my birthday & being drawn to this character to the point I mastered his moves & fatalities lol so many memories from that game alone the 90s was da Shìt lol
Reiko deserves to come back
I never had any interest in Reiko in the original timeline. I never knew much about him either. Maybe it was the mkx comics but I had started wanting Reiko in the games a lot more. Aside from a couple characters like Drahmin, Taven, Nitara, and Stryker, Reiko is definitely up there on desired returning characters.
I definitely think Taven is underrated. I liked hm as a protagonist. It would be cool to see him and Reiko fight again.

The character model for Reiko in MK4 was so dope. So was his ending.

NEXT VIDEO: "History Of Bo' Rai Cho Mortal Kombat 11"
If some may have forgotten, Bo' Rai Cho does serve as a important character in the series in some sense. Despite being an Outworlder, Bo' Rai Cho opposes Shao Kahn and his ambitions of conquest and is known to be incapable of competing in the Mortal Kombat tournaments (as any victory in his name would be counted in favor of Outworld) with that in mind, he instead opts to train Earthrealm's warriors in combat by the likes of Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Shujinko and Li Mei; who's also an Outworlder, in that order as she is also an ally to Earthrealm and opposes Shao Kahn, making Bo' Rai Cho as a major ally to Raiden.
BO' RAI CHO IS A CHARACTER WHO SHOULD BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY, DESPITE HIS FIGHTING STYLE AND CHARACTER PRESENTATION WHICH PEOPLE INTEND TO BE DISGUSTED WITH!!!

Your wish might have just be granted since mk1 has just showed him in a Cutscene I think if he’s playable is definitely going to be my main I’m very curious about how he will play.

@@pjbanquiao5750 Fire God Liu Kang will be a wasted when we already got Liu Kang and there's alot of characters with so much potential.
I'm neutral towards Reiko as a whole, but i'm willing to give him a chance if he one day returns. Seems that he got to break away from Shao Kahn in the MKX comics and maybe can someday be a character that can stand on his own two feet.
Looking forward to learning about the non-fighting characters.

Shaolin monks is basically just a retelling of mortal kombat 2's storyline minus the outworld tournament....
it’s not canon, however it’s influence and success influenced mk9 reboot, like how baraka and kung lao are on shang tsungs island in the mk1 tournament when they originally appeared in mk2 and how liu kang and kitana became lovers in mk2 in shoalin monks and mk9 when they originally became into each other in mk4

His concept is dope. Someone so infatuated with the idea of power and godhood. As a mortal. Yet, living and experiencing much more than most on both sides. Makes his demeanor towards others like Quan-Chi hella badass.
I really want a new game that's around onaga because he's just such a bad ass character and one of my favorites

Another great video, mate. MK4 is the only game I've played that Reiko appeared in so this is mostly new to me.

I like to believe that Reiko grew distrust and hatred towards Quan Chi at the end of MK4. I think they had the invasion in their favor, but the fake amulet plot was the Brotherhood’s downfall. I really love the old timeline’s origins for Reiko. It left open ended story potential for him.
Been calling for this character for a long but don't waste it in MK11. I'll wait till MK12
I have wanted Reiko/ Blood God Reiko as a playable dlc character for the longest time. NRS make this happen, and also make his conquest in the mkx comics an actual story mode in mk11. Introducing him and Havik as the next dlc characters.

Reiko is extremely underrated and deserves to be fleshed out more and felt even more could have been done with him past the MKX comics. Hell, I feel the same about so many of the 3D-ear kombatants like Kai, Mavado, Sareena, Hotaru, Taven, Nitara, Havik, Li Mei, Blaze, and Ashrah. A others as well. I mean I really love the original trilogy cast, but I'm honestly sick and tired of seeing them shoehorned into EVERY new installment. Seriously, I really feel a few like Kano, Sonya, Jax, and Raiden can sit at least one game out being playable and make room for a few other long-time missing warriors. Same for the excessive-ass guest characters too... 🙄
I could not agree more. We always have to sacrifice great characters so the usual ones can be in there. Tired of it.

I kinda always wondered. Reiko is Shao Khan's top General while Shang Tsung is Shao Khan's Ambassador. Who is superior in Outworld ranks?
He was my favorite new character in MK4 next to Fujin... Shame its unlikely that he'll never get a playable spot again.

Reiko is been my favorite for a long time but the lack of interest of giving him a central roll in the MK universe piss me off. He have a good back story and killer moveset. They missing out a good story with him.
Reiko MK4 appearance always reminds me of Nightwing from DC comics. I guess it’s the face that mimics Nightwings mask at the time.
