Kotal Kahn is the more peaceful version of Shao Kahn but not really peaceful because he is a little more serious than Kitana and Sindel and more like the people from the Order Realm which he is super strict

A new current take on Onaga wouldn't be totally inappropriate right now.. I'd dig that. I don't think graphics were good enough to do the character justice back in deceptions day.

I have no doubt Onaga could be made to look more menacing, and certainly have the ability to survive anything (including a Nuclear Raiden Suicide). Sure that would make him Overpowered, but c'mon, if you can beat him with Bo Rai Cho in MKD, then that opening scene was a waste of time. Going into MK Armageddon, his moves and combos should be remade, and he should be given some flying moves, and maybe some matter and time bending abilities (since he should have most of, if not all, the kamidogu in his possession at the time). Depending on what's going on with MK11 right now, there is a chance Onaga may appear, if not be playable. Netherrealm stated that MK11 will have plenty of content throughout the next couple years, so perhaps Onaga will officially return and be an overpowered bad ass. If that's the case, then no matter how many people complain, Onaga should NEVER be nerfed since he is the Dragon King and deserves to be OP.

Onaga did not initially wish to merge the realms. the one being attempted to corrupt him initially while he was alive to do so but he was too strong to be corrupted. Shao Kahn however was corrupted and poisoned and killed Onaga in order to proceed with the merging of the realms and his climb to power. Onagas essence was weaker than his body in life however and there he was corrupted but Shao Kahn had already begun his plan at that point so it didn’t matter anyways.
The one being would be an awesome boss for MK12. Also having at least 2 other elder gods on the roster. I would also love it since everything will be reset,we could possibly get to see the deceased characters that haven’t ever been playable (Kitanas father Jerrod,Queen Sytholin aka the ruler of reptiles home,and the Queen of the Kytinn,Al Sheva) btw Sytholin and Al Sheva are referenced in the krypt,they both have their own special artifacts in a room in Goros lair
nah I disagree,the one being is a character,that shouldn't be a final boss,the One being,is suppose to be an entity that's all of existence itself as one,if the one being rises,then there is no more mortal kombat. and besides NRS would ruin the mystery of the character.

As someone who stopped playing Mortal Kombat in the 90s, this development of the story, specifically with Raiden, Liu Kang, Kitana, Sub-Zero and Scorpion given such heroic storylines, it's really cool. They took a campy, meaningless game and gave it such a rich story.
@@windetta551 He's doable in MK9 still tough as nails, but he's definitely toned down from MK2 and MK3, he can spam moves, but he is programmed to taunt and pause occasionally to let you get a hit or two in. But in the old games, you almost have to exploit his ai in those games, he's a lot more powerful and much less forgiving and he can kill you in 3 to 4 hits in MK2/3, it's ridiculous.

I'm going to be honest here. I dig his design in MK11. And the voice acting. I know ... unpopular opinion, but idgaf :') Shao got even more brutal looks in MK11.
The big problem is he looks nothing like the mk9 design the inhuman feathers look dumb even the face that looks way cooler in the other design the draconic elements don't work and he has become a dumb brute but like as you do I am lord Vader I'm not easy to impress

Besides Kitana killing him, I really don't see why everyone dislikes Shao Kahn in MK11. I agree that the Trump reference is funny; plus it is in-character for Shao Kahn to say something like that. I’ve been playing MK for 27 years. I’ve gotten to a point where I can just hop on any new release and just dominate immediately (except against cheesers because I actually care about skill). I’m to a point where I just watch the fms on YT and play a new game for a couple hours and just walk away. So, I really don’t care much for the lore anymore. In my day (oh shit, in his day) Shit was simple. Pick Sub Zero if you were a good person with a huge dick, pick scorpion if you were a shit person with a tiny dick and kill the bad sorcerer or fail epically at taking out Shoa Kahn. Mind you, back then, only fat nerds and skinny geeks (commonly referred to as “fags” regardless of S.O.) like me played video games and girls cared nothing about them. It actually went against you chances of procreation if you played them. Now with the rise of female gamers, shits changed. I’m all for games being inclusive to genders because it gives the player better immersion. I don’t want to play as a woman, even if it means having to stare up Alexios skirt underwater. Idk where I was going with this. Shits changing. Shoa Kahn is from a time when the bad guy was just a bad guy and you didn’t question it. So basically with the new age of MK they are taking ancient tropes from my time and trying to make them relevant. I think that’s where the problems start. Kahn has been humanized more than ever in this game. I actually appreciated that as I don’t really like 2d characters, even though I’m from a generation where most antagonists were 2d in video games.
Outworld will always be the worst place in all of the realms well I dont know if it’s worser than the Netherrealm since that’s a place of darkness and fire but Outworld is a place of purple skies and darkness basically mixed with Medieval Ages then you have Chaosrealm which is somewhat terrifying too I would not go to neither of these places
Shao Kahn is my second favorite character in Mortal Kombat and my favorite antagonist of the series. I also really love playing him in Mortal Kombat Deception.
Also where the hell are Taven and Dagon because according to the Mortal Kombat Wiki besides Shao Kahn Shang Tsung and Liu Kang spirit there were the only two combatants Mortal Kombat and they're not even brob once any reboot a timeline or mentioned expect them for Kombat pack number 2 coming whenever
It must have been circa 1996 whenever I was first introduced to MK Trilogy. I remember watching my cousins play. All that gore, fatalities, the violence, and my cousins cheering me on whenever I beat one of them, 6 year old me was captivated. I remember once I went to the grocery store and I was waiting for my mom to finish with her purchase. There was an old stand up arcade machine which actually had MK Trilogy loaded up on it. I'm like hell yeah, let me get some quarters and play. Little did I know, that was my introduction to being handed Ls. Time and time again, I would get whooped and Shao Kahn's voice would boom throw the machine "HAHAH YOU SUCK". MAAANNN I went home and cried. Cried like a baby. 6 year old me couldn't comprehend why this machine was so mean to me. Years later, I bought MK 2011 and I finally got my revenge. A whole 15 years later. It's funny because as an immature human, I let my emotions get the best of me. As I matured and got older, I can't help but appreciate his introduction to the series. I might just buy this game now. Even if I'm 4 years late. The trash talking is supreme. Shao Kahn was my first introductory villain and damn has he stood the test of time.

Not only the greatest MK villain by far but the best fighting game last boss in history. Heck he’s in my top five best fictional villains of all time. Imo.
I honestly feel like Shao Kahn is the best choice to be Outworld's ruler. Sure he is a tyrant with pretty much no compassion but he also had better winstreak than anyone else. Kotal Kahn is too weak for this role and Kitana just does not know how Outworld really works. Shao himself said that it needs an iron fist - not a velvet glove. And he is right. Outworld is not Edenia. It's all about the survival of the fittest. And who's the living embodiment of that? Shao Kahn. Both Kitana and Kotal can either be assassinated or easily deposed (what actually happens in MK11 + Aftermath). While there was no knows attempts on Shao Kahn's life. Because he would simply crush anyone dumb enough to try.

Shao Kahn was actually born in Eternia, Skeletor corrupted his mind from early on and turned Kahn to the dark side because he could sense that he would grow up to be a threat to him. They fought in many wars side by side but Kahn left him and went his own path after their last battle in the nesting grounds of the old powerful sarlacc. Not many people know this but Saurod and Reptile are brothers
Up until this game where he demonstrated care for Mileena and genuinely enamored Sindel, Shao Kahn had zero redeemable qualities. That's my favorite thing about him, his thing is that he's simply a tyrant. A feared, successful tyrant who manages to not be so one-dimensional.

While i agree thinking Kitana killing him is a stretch, his character is only added to positively. I love pure evil villians, but it's much more interesting when you see they actually care about something.

I was one of those kids that was given a huge Dad that dealt out boss damage when angered. Anytime I fight Shao Kahn, watch Super Shredder punching threw pillars, or Deebo throwing a uppercut...I get flashbacks lol.
I have a theory on how shao kahn came to the top of the tower at the end of Armageddon to mk9. Taven defeated blaze in konquest n the power of the firespawn spread through tavens armor n split individually between all the kombatants. Only problem was that shao kahn as a deadly foe was able to take down everyone between taven, and himself thus leading to raiden n his unfortunate demise.

No the elder gods would not have interveined, well in number 3 yea maybe but i feel as if Shao woulda won, he maybe couldnt have been stopped, in mk9 before the actual player fight, with raiden infused with elder gods powers, he was zapped by all the combined power and laughed as if it tickled. So maybe idk but if shao wouldve won against liu kang in mk2 in the outworld tournament, then Shao wouldve won fairly and the elder gods would only be able to watch

As someone who stopped playing Mortal Kombat in the 90s, this development of the story, specifically with Raiden, Liu Kang, Kitana, Sub-Zero and Scorpion given such heroic storylines, it's really cool. They took a campy, meaningless game and gave it such a rich story.
Shao Khan is always a classic villain in mortal kombat. He is one hard boss back on MK3 and MK2.

@@windetta551 He's doable in MK9 still tough as nails, but he's definitely toned down from MK2 and MK3, he can spam moves, but he is programmed to taunt and pause occasionally to let you get a hit or two in. But in the old games, you almost have to exploit his ai in those games, he's a lot more powerful and much less forgiving and he can kill you in 3 to 4 hits in MK2/3, it's ridiculous.

They need to do a spin off game that reestablishes the story after maybe another reset. The game could be like Shaolin Monks style but covering the story of Edenia being taken over. Can you imagine a game centered around Kitana, Mileena, Rain!!!, Shao Kahn, Tanya, etc....

Besides Kitana killing him, I really don't see why everyone dislikes Shao Kahn in MK11. I agree that the Trump reference is funny; plus it is in-character for Shao Kahn to say something like that. And also, to Kitana killing him, she caught him off guard. I'm not saying I'm happy with how she defeated him, but they couldve done so much worse.
I’ve been playing MK for 27 years. I’ve gotten to a point where I can just hop on any new release and just dominate immediately (except against cheesers because I actually care about skill). I’m to a point where I just watch the fms on YT and play a new game for a couple hours and just walk away. So, I really don’t care much for the lore anymore. In my day (oh shit, in his day) Shit was simple. Pick Sub Zero if you were a good person with a huge dick, pick scorpion if you were a shit person with a tiny dick and kill the bad sorcerer or fail epically at taking out Shoa Kahn. Mind you, back then, only fat nerds and skinny geeks (commonly referred to as “fags” regardless of S.O.) like me played video games and girls cared nothing about them. It actually went against you chances of procreation if you played them.
Now with the rise of female gamers, shits changed. I’m all for games being inclusive to genders because it gives the player better immersion. I don’t want to play as a woman, even if it means having to stare up Alexios skirt underwater. Idk where I was going with this.
Shits changing. Shoa Kahn is from a time when the bad guy was just a bad guy and you didn’t question it. So basically with the new age of MK they are taking ancient tropes from my time and trying to make them relevant. I think that’s where the problems start. Kahn has been humanized more than ever in this game. I actually appreciated that as I don’t really like 2d characters, even though I’m from a generation where most antagonists were 2d in video games.

Shao Kahn is my second favorite character in Mortal Kombat and my favorite antagonist of the series. I also really love playing him in Mortal Kombat Deception.

Favorite Mk character
It must have been circa 1996 whenever I was first introduced to MK Trilogy. I remember watching my cousins play. All that gore, fatalities, the violence, and my cousins cheering me on whenever I beat one of them, 6 year old me was captivated. I remember once I went to the grocery store and I was waiting for my mom to finish with her purchase. There was an old stand up arcade machine which actually had MK Trilogy loaded up on it. I'm like hell yeah, let me get some quarters and play. Little did I know, that was my introduction to being handed Ls. Time and time again, I would get whooped and Shao Kahn's voice would boom throw the machine "HAHAH YOU SUCK". MAAANNN I went home and cried. Cried like a baby. 6 year old me couldn't comprehend why this machine was so mean to me. Years later, I bought MK 2011 and I finally got my revenge. A whole 15 years later. It's funny because as an immature human, I let my emotions get the best of me. As I matured and got older, I can't help but appreciate his introduction to the series. I might just buy this game now. Even if I'm 4 years late. The trash talking is supreme. Shao Kahn was my first introductory villain and damn has he stood the test of time.

I honestly feel like Shao Kahn is the best choice to be Outworld's ruler. Sure he is a tyrant with pretty much no compassion but he also had better winstreak than anyone else. Kotal Kahn is too weak for this role and Kitana just does not know how Outworld really works. Shao himself said that it needs an iron fist - not a velvet glove. And he is right. Outworld is not Edenia. It's all about the survival of the fittest. And who's the living embodiment of that? Shao Kahn. Both Kitana and Kotal can either be assassinated or easily deposed (what actually happens in MK11 + Aftermath). While there was no knows attempts on Shao Kahn's life. Because he would simply crush anyone dumb enough to try.

They fought in many wars side by side but Kahn left him and went his own path after their last battle in the nesting grounds of the old powerful sarlacc. Not many people know this but Saurod and Reptile are brothers

Up until this game where he demonstrated care for Mileena and genuinely enamored Sindel, Shao Kahn had zero redeemable qualities. That's my favorite thing about him, his thing is that he's simply a tyrant. A feared, successful tyrant who manages to not be so one-dimensional.

While i agree thinking Kitana killing him is a stretch, his character is only added to positively. I love pure evil villians, but it's much more interesting when you see they actually care about something.

I have a theory on how shao kahn came to the top of the tower at the end of Armageddon to mk9.
Taven defeated blaze in konquest n the power of the firespawn spread through tavens armor n split individually between all the kombatants. Only problem was that shao kahn as a deadly foe was able to take down everyone between taven, and himself thus leading to raiden n his unfortunate demise.
Shao Kahn is probably my favorite MK character, like to see a game where he is the ruler of realms
