Honestly, the concept of Goro and Kintaro is pretty good as Goro is represented as the dragons while Kintaro and his people are represented as a tiger as they are seen as natural enemies or rivals in Chinese mythos. I don't see enough people talk about this enough.

Personally, I feel he's been misrepresented since he debut in MK2. His Kabal orgin was fine, but it should've been Motaro. I don't think he has much to offer in the NEW time-line, but I wouldn't mind playing as him if he were DLC. I'd rather FIGHT him though as a boss. He was SO hard, yet awesome to battle during my childhood. I want that THRILL again you get when you ACTUALLY defeat him. 😉👍

Used to see Kintaro as Goro's copy, but with what they fleshed out in the comic I really dig the whole hungry, plebeian yet immensely powerful warrior who found himself worthy of fighting for the Kahn. Clubber Lang vibes as well.

Because there was no instant answer destroying the fun of things like hidden characters etc

I mean he still does things like that on twitter but the problem is we have people who data mine and then the net spreads the info so making mythos like that is harder these days. Mind you we have stuff like meteor towers which took a year to discover but now everyone knows instantly once someone finds it. Back then someone would find it but it would take time for word to travel. In the game tips on mk11 it says something about ermac with the words all jumbled like there is errors in the code again so i love little eastereggs like that reminding us of the old days. All my favourite characters came from them being hidden such as Reptile, Ermac and Noob Saibot. Would be cool to see what they would do with chameleon and the likes with today’s versions of the game.
I would love to see either a game, comic, or animated film that covers some of the old school Shokan/Centaur feud. Get to learn more about the characters of those races we already know, while meeting some new ones and expanding on that whole period of time.

Yeah I noticed the games got more difficult from 1-3 with each new game. Only way I ever beat Motaro was with my best character after MULTIPLE re-tries.
Kintaro has always been my favorite sub-boss. Finally getting to him on the mountain was a big accomplishment for me as a youth, and finally defeating him the first time felt like quite an accomplishment. Besides nostalgia, I just think his look is the most creative out of all of the original bosses.
Everyone wants kintaro back but doesn’t wanna talk about how OP he would be as a playable character. A giant walking, four armed, tiger mutant, with blades on each arm, that shoots fire from his mouth.
He is one of my favorites espevially with his more feral look in the comic and I hated how he was treated. His death at Sonya's hands made me dislike her even more (Yeah Johnny and her are my least liked haracets and by extention Cassie who has the blood of both).

His MKX comic book look was the best feral design and would've been a great ally to Earth Realm if treated with the respect he deserves. I think it'd be best to have himself and Sheeva rival Goro and Motaro in MK12 instead of making that story dlc, because the story in MK11 is such a mess!

Mortal kombat is a goated verse, it's so unique and violent, i love all the creativity of the games since the beginning. And kintaro is also one of the very cool characters that i have liked since childhood, i despised goro for being ugly, and loved kintaro instead, back when we were playing shaolin monks co-op and armageddon. I wish kintaro is gonna be explored further.

Little off topic but i believe the kintaro should've been a dlc character instead of sheeva. Allow me to explain. Sheeva was playable in mk9. In mkx it was goro so in mk11 I wished it was kintaro
I KNOW it's not cannon, but I've always preferred Kintaro's death at the hands of Lui Kang and Kung Lao during MK Shaolin Monks. It just is THE best send off for the character, but would mess up Kabal's origin. Really though I would've had Motaro responsible for Kabal's Origin OR Mavado if you think about it logically. 🤔 Good video as always though HBTW 👍
