Welcome back to yet another Mortal Kombat video!
In todays history of breakdown and analysis, we are going to be talking about a former Sub boss of the series, the centaur general amongst Shao khans high table of destruction… Motaro!
Now to really really dig deep on Motaros backstory, we must first talk about the centaurs and their place In the realm, Its pretty important to get an idea of what Centaurs mean to outworld and where do they stand In all the chaos.

I feel like Goro always gets the glory and attention. People don’t put enough respect on Motaro’s or Kintaro’s names lol
I know right Motaro was OP in mk3 and he really is a badass character I would love to see him come back in the kombat pack 3 for mk11
Well for one thing Goro is a Shokan prince and a former champion of Mortal Kombat so of course it would make sense for him to get more glory than two jobber nobodies like Kintaro and Motaro. It's like comparing Stone Cold Steve Austin to Nathan Jones and Matt Morgan, yes Nathan Jones and Matt Morgan are bigger size than Austin but Austin is more popular and is a phenomenal champion over the two.
I mean he accomplishes more off screen than motaro and kintaro combined
I think Kintaro might be in the next dlc, konsidering he has a full design in Shangs fatality. Just a thought.

This just gave me ptsd flashbacks remembering how many times this guy absolutely wiped the floor with me on mk3...
I beat him with cheats. Plus learning the hard way that projectiles don't work.
He is so very easily defeated by using jump kicks.

I've always thought Motaro was an awesome character. To me, especially when i was a kid, he was for sure the coolest and scariest depiction of a centaur i'd ever seen. I can understand why they they can't bring him back as a playable character, but it'd be cool to see him return as a sub boss at some point and just have x-rays/fatal blows and fatalities not work on him. Have beating him trigger a death cinematic like with Kronika. At least give him a cooler send off than Raiden killing him in the background lol

This guy is one of my absolute favorite characters in this entire series even though he haven't appeared in too much but I still love him
I used to love matro in trilogy I remember playing it with my brother and watching the trilogy
NRS needs to hurry up and bring back Motaro in his full 4 legged glory, he was the best sub-boss ever.

They can't. They've said this back when MKA came out. He was either gonna have to be two legged or not be in the game at all. His body is too massive for 3D.

Motaro is my #1 favourite character, and has been since I versed him in MK3 as a kid and was blown away by fighting a centaur. The sprite looked so good back then. What a scary second-last boss.
That dude scared 8 year old me when I first encountered him in MK3. I remember being proud to have reached that level for the first time. Then when I saw him, I was like, "wtf is THAT?!". Then we he started attacking I was like "Oh shit!" Lol
Yeah, he creeped me out, too. Still does! Lol 😅
Those were the days in the arcade and Sega and Super Nintendo.

I was gonna say I was impressed for their effort to make a lore for turning Motaro into a minotaur, then I remember they also made a lore for Meat lmao.

since I was kid playing MK3 I've wanted Motaro to come back. I wanna hear those beast like roars, that weird animal body, and I wanna hear lines from him. he's honestly the character I'm most fascinated with and that sucks cus there's not much for me in terms of content. which btw thank you loved this video. I just want him to come back v.v
The game developers found it very difficult to build the game mechanics related to Motaro in MK3 so to downgrade him to a Minotaur was the easiest way to avoid such problems and challenges in later games.

I'll take the pop culture pay to play characters over Jaqui Briggs any day . I hate that character so much that I wont be buying MK12 of she is still in it.

The only way he can come back is he's two legged again. Nobody wants that version of him.
They could try using a trained horse for the motion capturing. The least they can do is to make him playable, but not have Fatal blows/Fatalities performed on him

Always had a soft spot for the non-humanoid Kharacters of MK. Kintaro would be my favourite sub-boss from the original trilogy. Alongside Noob-Smoke from the DA Trilogy. Since the NRS trilogy has leaned so hard into humanoid Kharacters, none of the new additions have really caught my interest.
motaro deserves to return as a sub boss, doesn't matter if he was 2 legged or 4 legged, he can still be a big bad ass beast with better improvement, only if fans can lighten up.

@@dreamguardian8320 I want him return as 4 legged too but think about it, with the fighting design would be difficult to grab and also it's going to look really messed up in fatal blows or x ray while 4 legged think about how ermac or noob doing fatal blows or x ray on a 2 legged character but how is it going to look like doing on a 4 legged character? really weird. if he can return as 4 legged then he has to be unplayable sub boss that can't do fatal blows or x ray on a 4 legged motaro. If it's 2 legged but as a big intimidating beast with a bad ass designs of his own fatal blows or x ray would look sick and same with fatalities if he was playable and sub boss. Don't get me wrong but the only thing a 4 legged motaro would do is his own fighting style, special moves and fatalities but fatal blows or x ray or grabs is going to be very hard to fix.
He should be resurrected and come back into the game unnaturally quicker and it would make him be a Final Boss or a really amazing sub boss. In my opinion he was the most impressive looking character in the first 3 games and more could have been done with him.
Honestly Motaro has always been my favorite boss, just because of the goddamn nostalgia. The firet MK ever played was Ultimate MK3 and this asshole gave me a lot of trouble until I learned to cheese him with jump kicks.
Now everytime I see him pop up it just makes feel like I am a kid a again playing with my Sega Genisis.
I love Mortal Kombat a lot and I’m a huge Mortal Kombat fan and been following the plot of the story of the games and they’ve been so good and awesome 👏😎

I just got Motaro from storm collectibles. Definitely a Mortal Kombat figure worth having. I have my three favorite boss characters now completed. Shao Kahn, being my favorite final boss, Goro, and Motaro being my two favorite sub bosses.
He's got damned underrated, hope he returns in MK12 as boss.
This was beautiful, and coherent. Thank you for helping me understand Motaro's role in the original series, and his dismissal (pretty much) in the reboot.

I received the Storm Collectibles Motaro figure a few weeks back and it's truly amazing. It would be nice if he would make it into another game.

Motaro was so intimidating. He was huge even by MK boss standards and he came right after the nightmare that was Kintaro.
Sadly he got ripped off bad in Armageddon and he was the easiest classic boss to defeat.
Motaro deserved to be featured on the big screen again . With the current special effects and IMAX/4DX movie viewings he would look great
I would love to see a Spin off open world game taking place in outworld and really exploring and expanding the lore.

If there able to make motaro with the motion capture technology they're using, I would have some serious questions

In Mortal Kombat 3, Johnny Cage got killed by Motaro. I honestly am not a fan of that, and I'm glad that Johnny Cage was kept alive throughout MK9, X, and 11. Also, I'm no fan of Motaro.
I just hope that technology advances to the point that NR studios can finally include a proper Motaro in proper Centaur form

@@SupportGamin2024 Two more arms is a not the same as four more legs, longer model, not to mention having to modify it so he will interact properly with other moves. It's not worth the effort.
Finally, I've waited so long for this.
1995: has a centaur in Mortal Kombat. 2022: we don't have the technology to include a centaur.
I am so thankful for this channel. The time, effort and attention to detail does not go unnoticed. For someone who has seen Mortal Kombat develop from the very beginning in the early 90s, my favorite part about the MK series was the storylines of the fighters in the game. Thank you for keeping the history and the spirit of these characters alive. Please cover Blaze. I don't know much about him...or her......it's 2021. I can't assume Blaze is a man 😆

Also Onaga wasn't from a dragon race. The dragon race is Goro's race the Shokan.
Onaga only looked like a dragon in deception because he was reborn in reptile's body.
@@igorivanov299 he was called the dragon king. Goro was kin to dragons but kintaro was kin to tigers. So their race consisted of 2 different sub species.

Make him two-legged like in Armageddon and give him a full centaur form during certain animations like Kotal Kahn's puma form so you could play as him without the body being a problem cause you'd just get hit out of the form.

It was because for some reason, the video game designers could not find a way to make a character with four legs move properly, that's why they had him be a minotaur in Armageddon. Hopefully, their technology has evolved better, and they might be able to bring Motaro back in a new game. We can only keep our fingers crossed.

While watching the game play out with Cyber Smoke, whoever was controlling Cyber Smoke apparently had no idea how to use him!
Glad they turned one of the most difficult and iconic bosses into a 2 legged monstrosity, having him easily beat in a cut scene then his head ripped into 2 pieces. Smart.
Centaur Motaro could have definitely worked in the new games and maybe even MK9. The first thing people talk about is the X-ray moves and others like throws not being able to work on his model. The solution to this, for instance with x-rays, is to give one or two pre-canned x-ray moves that only happen to Motaro. Basically all the characters share that x-ray that happens to Motaro. Same with throws, a unique throw against Motaro that all the characters share.
centaur motaro would not work with fatal blows or x ray, it would look really weird and messed up, if he had to return as centaur then he wouldn't be playable, just a sub boss without fatal blows or x ray.

I'll say it again. Have the moves, x-rays, and fatalities be exclusive to his character so that say for instance you try to do Noob Saibots wishbone fatality it would instead trigger a unique fatality to be performed on him that all characters would share.

Ultimate MK 3 Motaro was impossibly hard to even touch. They definitely goofed up with his AI.
Motaro was easy. Kintaro was the hardest sub-boss in any Mortal Kombat game. He was even more difficult than Shao Kahn in that game.
@@igorivanov299 not on Ultimate, bro. Any other version Motaro was cake, but on Ultimate he was one of the most unfair fights in the series. Kintaro in MK2 was hard though but the whole AI was a cheating slut in MK2 lol

Yeah Motaro was alot more difficult in Ultimate than in MK3. I own the original arcade PCB Jamma board of Ultimate MK3.
Jumping back with high kicks and trying to predict where he will teleport to is the trick, than laying in a quick combo before he lifts you up and tosses you or grabs you.
Best to keep as much distance by jumping away from him with kicks.
When I first saw him in MK3 as a sub boss I liked his design and he was hard as shit to beat. Hope he can be put on a future MK game.

I never of Motaro’s death as a catalyst for timeline divergence but it’s true. Johnny’s arc in MKX and the Revenant saga would not happen without his death.

If they’d just forget about adding DC and other extra characters, we could have those characters back.
While I did find his design interesting when I was younger, nowadays I'm usually neutral towards him, but I wouldn't mind seeing him make a return.
I need Motaro urgent lol if it’s hard to grab him and make fatality on him cause of his 4 legs they can change the model for a Minotaur , but gameplay and Motaro’s own fatalities as a Centaur ❤️

Motaro is my favorite MK character. It annoyed me that the reason Motaro became a Minotaur wasn’t because it was where the storyline naturally flowed towards, but because they couldn’t figure out how to do a character sprite for Motaro when they developed the game, so they had to come up with an in-game excuse for him having 2 legs. Like it just bugs me that it was technical game issues that dictated something that significant.

Motaro got treated so disrespectfully. The took two of his legs, hasn't been playable since armageddon, got like 10 seconds in the new timeline then killed off, just to show up in sheeva's intro getting his head ripped open. I feel he has potential to be more than a sub boss.

Motaro was scary in Mk3 so was sheeva, in mk2 it was smoke, mileena and kitana that scared me
