    Don't forget to validate the train ticket you see in the little green machines at 9:15 on the left and right when going toward the trains. Otherwise this may result in a 50 euro penalty per person if the employee is checking tickets!

      so it needs to be validated twice? once going through the clear doors and then a second time with the green machines?

      @@nancyvas1 I purchased our tickets at the station every time we’ve went and never had a problem. HOWEVER, if you are returning from Termini & going to the airport upon leaving Rome, I recommend purchasing the tickets ahead of time for that trip (either online or at Termini) a day or two before leaving so that you can be certain the train you need to catch for your flight has availability. The ticket kiosks also can be kinda crowded and crazy in the mornings which is when most transatlantic flights leave FCO.

    Thanks for the video. It’s very helpful for those like me arriving in Rome for the first time. Every trip is part excitement and part anxiety mainly because of the language barrier and unfamiliar places and situations.
    Videos like these ease the anxiety part of the trip. Lol

      @@bozy106 i am taking the train to florence and one perk of reserving is advance is you get business class for the same rate as economy - this is not available for airport to termini though, only for longer trips and only a limited number of tickets at that price.

      How much time did you give yourself? First time traveling to Italy and we're not sure whether to buy ahead or just wait.

    • @diddlybop
      @diddlybop Před 5 měsíci +2

      @@nancyvas1 the only reason i bought ahead was because if you buy far enough in advance you can get business class for the same price as economy. You do this by getting the trenitalia app and buying tickets directly there, no third parties needed. If the window for this has already passed you should have no trouble booking a ticket upon arrival, unless you will arrive near a peak travel time when everyone is commuting. Also a word of advice, on the train station there is a currency exchange, avoid at all costs it is a scam.

    I’m thinking of bringing a 25” checked bag Where do you put your luggage on the train, and should you avoid checking a bag? How big were the suitcases in this video? Did you check them?

    • @bozy106
      @bozy106  Před 11 měsíci

      I had a full size checked bag(maybe 25 to 27 inch bag). Look at one of my earlier 2019 videos from FCO at around the 20m 20s mark to see the luggage racks on the train. The video is here - czcams.com/video/70Z0aVXdF74/video.html You don’t have to actually check your luggage on the train, you just carry it on with you regardless of size.

    • @bozy106
      @bozy106  Před 9 měsíci +2

      I am not 100% certain at the airport. I have never validated my ticket with the green machines only when I used it to enter the turn styles however, many people make mention of validating the tickets with a green validator machine. I know that you definitely have to use the green machines and other train stations. I may have just been doing it wrong the entire time. It would not hurt to try to use both.
