Scotty Kilmer true that all day long
If BMWs and Mercedes are so good, why are their mechanics so busy fixing them all?
My friend have that same car but black
I bought a 2005 BMW Sedan BIG MISTAKE EVER!!!!!! Windows Stop working and one won't go up and when it rains I have to put a garbage bag over it with some duck tape also the interior is so horrible is like the heat eats up the plastic and melt it plus I change the lower control arms and 3 months later the right side needs to be replace! Also the driver side leather seat is tearing apart might be because is not fart proof leather... I should of bought the civic instead of this BMW.
Hey Scotty what camera do you use?
Scotty's Celica has the original tires with the original air in them.
Sounds like Scotty had one and ended up saying it

hahahahahahaha........bwahahahahaha i laughed like a hyena
sell it on ebay, get a money buy new celica
Imagine you bring your car to Scotty for repairs then you randomly see this video on CZcams of your car getting roasted.
Haha.
He went IN the whole time... 🤣😂🤣😂
That's what I thought many times.
That what happens with any mechanic and even you know that
Oh, you mean the 2014 Sentra ??🙄🙄 he keeps that on the rotisserie 🤣😭🤣😭
The owner watching this video is probably like why did I even take the car to him 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
@Jason Bouphasavanh I meant right 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Good luck finding an American mechanic who's more honest than Scotty.
he fixes cars?
I love my 2008 528xi BMW never has any serious problems with it I got it in 08 and its 2022 and I'm still rolling strong
I have a 3 series, a 5 series, and a 7 series. I've spent more money maintaining my dodge ram than all three of BMW's
Do you actually drive any of your BMWs? Or does your Dodge take up the majority of your road use?
Says the german dude 🤣
lol, comparing apples to apples or garbage to trash, good chance you'll come out even or slightly ahead.
Now all you need is a 4 and a 6 series to spend less in maintenance than a rover
How many miles on the beamers?
Customer: bring car for repair...
Scotty: I’m about to roast this car like a marshmallow
He loves this car ..!

@@moctezumaaleg2008 They didn't change much at all to be honest. Hell, there are BMW logos on every part... I'm no hater of either brands, and I like that they worked together.
@@SirCzechMate They changed the Internal parts to pass Toyota quality test not the exterior much.
They actually forced BMW to do extra extensive testing on the engine so yeah it isn't normal BMW trash.
Actually, to be fair he often says it's just a BMW in disguise.
Cheaply built but not cheaply priced! I like this one!
The cars themselves aren't "cheaply build" the only thing that's cheap is the plastic engine components, everything else on german cars is pretty high quality including the interior. Leather. Paint quality and suspension. A bad quality car would be a GM or something
I'm in Europe, I own bmw. I start to believe that the German cars for US market are on purpose unreliable.

I have no money pit issues with my E46. The 16 year old battery is still going, along with all the plastic parts. Last time I changed oil was almost 10 years ago, although I don't drive much. I think the reason cars are unreliable in the US is caused by the owners breaking them through "preventive" maintenance.

Well, that ain't no lie....... Ferrari much cheaper in the long run.
Best car I ever owned was an ‘05 BMW 325i. It was an amazing machine, smooth, precise, no stupid turbos. Yes, they are expensive to maintain once out of warranty but those days of me driving a BMW still brings smile and joy to my face.
I loved my BMWs. I had two of them. Both gorgeous. One was a 2002, my next was a 2011. I did eventually get to 100k on them both, but I will admit they did need a ton of upkeep. Repairs were expensive. And even with regular maintenance, both cars still had what I would call below average reliability compared to any other car I’ve owned-Lexus, Buick (which are always at the top of reliability rankings). I’d love to go back to a BMW, but I’m too concerned about overall reliability and cost. This video just confirmed it.
Reliability= lexus and buick😂 you need a full psychological evaluation.
@@sherlockstownkill No, but you may need one. Do you read anywhere? Or do you live in this planet?
Got my BMW in 08 and still rollin strong so he's definitely NOT speaking for ALL BMW owners .. LOL we have to remember opinions are like assholes everyones got one ..I LOVE MY 528xi BMW So please don't believe everything you see on CZcams.
@@4jazzymanagement you’re right. I’m not speaking for everyone. I was speaking for me. Those were my experiences. Where I am allowed to speak for everyone are facts-nowhere in history had BMW officially ranked #1 or even high in general on any reliability survey conducted since 1990. I mean you can look that up if you like. Doesn’t mean BMW isn’t a nice car, they’re just much much higher maintenance. And who says I’m a “he?”
Been driving BMWs for 30 years! Of all those Beamers, one lost reverse in transmission and another had a radiator issue. BMW covered both.
He talks about the plastic? What car in the 21st century doesn't have plastic parts? The answer, NONE!
America should produce the best automobiles in the world, but we don't! Corporate greed has made sure of that. Ford has stopped production of all passenger vehicles except for the Mustang, I think that speaks volumes about American automobiles.

I have a 2013 335is with 37k miles that I bought new. It’s been a magnificent car to date. 19” wheels that have never been bent or replaced. Other than an annual oil change using BMW oil and OEM air and cabin filters, I replaced the battery in 2018 and the tires at 22k miles. I did replace the OEM Bridgestone run flats with Michelin run flats, and I’m very happy with the wear and handling. I do have a noisy front brake pad (oh the horror) but I’ll replace the pads soon so no big deal. If this is the extent of my repairs for the next 37k miles; well, I’ll live with it.

Why would scotty be a fan of the world's most shittiest cars? Aka German cars.
If it ain’t Japanese I don’t want it
I have an e46 325i with 155000 miles. Still love it. The key is to work on the car yourself and do your research on online forums before taking on a project; often you can save a lot of time and headaches by taking care of several items at the same time, such as doing the entire cooling system at once or replacing hoses/fixing vacuum leaks/cleaning the throttle body when you remove the intake manifold to replace the CCV system. Most of the aftermarket replacement parts are much cheaper than BMW parts and last a long time.
Absolutely, and on CZcams it is a ton of videos how to do. And parts are not any more expensive than Toyota or Honda.
I'm on my second 335 (an is this time). My first one I owned from 60k miles to 145k. In that time I didn't crack any wheels and the only expensive (above 1k repair) I had was replacing the clutch (which you'd have to do on any car in that time frame) I'm on year 3 of my newer 335is and I currently have a $1600 oil leak to repair) but that is the only non maintenance repair I've had to do in 3 years and I just hit 108k miles. People who think modern BMWs are expensive to maintain take their cars to the dealership and get robbed on repair costs. When usually a repair is as simple as a new sensor and an hour of your time or a $2000 repair bill from the stealership. Oh and both my 335's have been tuned to over 400hp without sacrificing any reliability. One more note, get rid of the runflats and put some good Michelin's on it, it's one of the best upgraded you can.
Where is your $1600 oil leak? I have a 2009 335i that I've done everything with. At 140k now.
Some of us don’t have 1600$ to throw away for a new clutch. I’m fine with my lexus. It doesn’t need any maintenance at all except oil changes

I've owned both a 2007 model of this car, 335i and modified crap out of it and push nearly 3x the factory boost pressure to it and I've not had any issues as a 3rd owner and 90k miles. It is an amazing car despite being one of the more notoriously unreliable engines. I had a crack on the end cap of the intercooler which I replaced with one with probably 3x the capacity and a waterpump crack. Plastic parts yes, but it wasn't all that expensive and for as hard driving and abusive I am to the car it stands up fine.
Then I have a 2016 550xi M-sport package with an even more notoriously "bad" engine but it's not had a single issue aside from a plastic PCV hose crack over the turbo (yes plastic) but the engine puts out 450hp and I have a tune on it as well so it puts down 530whp. Rock solid so far out to 78k miles aside from that. Drive the piss out of that car too, it just wants to be driven that way.. Also probably why BMW drivers get such a bad rep... The cars always feel like they want to be thrashed*.. At least in the top end models and M cars.
Repairs are expensive but to say they break all the time? That is a huge stretch.. Had plenty of other cars have just as many or more problems and a Toyota Avalon with a transmission go out as well as other stuff.. That was the most expensive car I had as far as repairs. *shrug* Cars that last forever tend to be pretty boring to drive because nothing on them is made for performance, but all about reliability and economy is my opinion so there is a tradeoff. Also getting dealer service is the part that is killer expensive with BMW's avoid that and find a specialist shop and you will do yourself more of a favor than you realize and get better service outside of warranty.
Two cracks in important parts...but no issues!
I have had three Bimmers and two of them have been solid for more than 10 years. The major annoyance with 3 series is the faults that have to be repeatedly corrected. Had a 1995 that needed multiple SRS fixes and resets. The good news is that you get really good at fixing the problems quickly.
yeah, these cars are really only for those who love working on them. It's kinda cool that the status of owning an old BMW is now showing how much effort you put into the car as opposed to how wealthy you are. of course people can still just pawn the work off to a mechanic but in general those people don't love the cars enough to bother with that.
luxury car where you have to do your own maintenance lmao. its like hiring a cleaning lady and having to do all the cleaning yourself
Scotty: They are sharp looking, no doubt in that.
Scotty: They handle really well.
Scotty: They drive fast.
Me: Sounds like I need a BMW HAHAHA
"they drive fast when they are working"
Kiki Sade if u drive a Bmw fast it dont mean its gonna have directly problems with the engine
Car salesman here, I've told customers quite a few times, "Don't buy a used BMW, go lease a new one. Then, when it hits the age where it's starting to break (anytime after the 3/36 warranty goes out the window) you can hand it back to BMW and inform them that it's their problem now."
Race cars are also all those things but after every race they change the tires like 10 times, change the engine, the transmission, the clutch, the whole car, the only thing left from the last race is the sponsorship stickers, Home Depot 😂😂😂
Robert Carlson yes u should get one.. i got an m3..was the best “waste of money” in my life 👌
I know someone with a 2008 BMW 330D convertible straight six Diesel, it has 19 inch alloys and the car has done 85,000 miles it has been a total nightmare for them. Spent £1200 replacing some sensors a taillight, has blown multiple tyres (they never get below 3mm before needing to be replaced due to puncture or dangerous defects). Tyres are £150-£250 depending on whether its a front or rear with the rear ones being more expensive and he has given on up buying premium ones so now fits budget tyres. Its also had £600 spent to simply replace an EGR valve and sensor, its developed an oil leak that has a quoted repair bill of over £500. The battery when it goes will cost far more than even a modern stop/start battery in todays cars because it has a bigger higher voltage battery for the electric hardtop roof which believe it or not has never gone wrong yet. All these issues have come in the space of 18 months too.
Scotty, try a low km E46. Mine is almost at 150k kms. It needed a new coolant reservoir and coolant sensor. It all depends on how u drive and how u maintain the car, like the transmission and differential fluids on top of engine oil changes. The E46 was a port-injected engine. These new twin-turbo direct injected engines are definitely more complex than my humble inline 6 naturally aspirated 320i lol
He reminded me that I should not let go of my super reliable 2004 BMW 525i.
Old bmws are legendary. My friend has an 05 m3 and he fixes it like nothing
The n/a inline 6s and 4s are indestructible. Have an 06 530i in the garage with 212,000 miles on it right now. Went through 2 coils, and a waterpump, but it will always be 10 times the fun of any japanese sedan in the same class. I love japanese cars aswell, as an owner of 2 mk2 supras, but as far as modern convienience and driving experience, nothing matches the e60.
I drive a 2008 528xi to work , it has 258,560 Kms and the acceleration is buttery smooth in-line 6 naturally aspirated.230 HP
Like any imported card the parts are expensive, and most parts are plastic and prone to failing due to age and heat cycles. These engines run like very hot and the cooling system is one that you need to change if you want to keep this car🏎. The E60 is timeless and will keep it till I can still diy stuff.
Changed the starter, replaced the coolant tank and pipes , other than regular maintenance. Oil change with full synthetic is not difficult but my independent garage charges me $50 labour plus I bring my own oil. The transmission oil was changed twice, first at 150,000 Kms and than at251,000 Kms. Love the auto 6 speed zf has been reliable if you take care of preventive maintenance. I have some tools, it helps. The biggest mistake bmw owners make is getting ripped off by dealers.
We also have a 2008 Toyota Hylander with 290,581 Kms original miles. We have changed the water pump , plus the regular maintenance full synthetic. The moral of the story it is not a bmw it is toyota. BMW need regular preventive maintenance. if you a diy person then go and enjoy. Find a reliable independent like Scotty. Stay away from turbo charged engines.! Very nice !

I had a friend once say that he bought a car for how good it looked. I responded, "it will look great on the side of the road". He wasn't amused...

Love this guy he’s nuts but he makes sense. Keep them coming Jay from the UK
What do you think about the golf R or Audi S3?
Thank you for the video very informative
I love my 2011 E90; very reliable. I’ve put nearly 150k on it and do almost all the maintenance myself and I’m not a mechanic.
MrMINDFIRE I keep telling people that fixing your BMW yourself is ALWAYS the way to go when owning one. You cannot own a BMW and just drive it. A lot of people buy these cars, and look at it as another vehicle they're owning. They don't bother ever taking the time to try to mechanically learn their vehicle. Some people don't even open the hood during the time they own it NOT ONCE.
If you're gonna' own any BMW, you have to make time to learn your vehicle, and do your research as much as you can. It's not something you can just blindly walk into without some knowledge about it.
The reason they're such 'money pits' is because they just take them to the shop, and get charged out the wazoo for more than what it's worth because mechanics are trying to make cash at the end of the day. For paying someone two thousand dollars to fix your car is something you could've done for way under a thousand to buy the part and install it yourself for three hundred dollars or cheaper.
I own a 2011 E92 and I've had no issues so far. It's the only car I've kept for more than 3 years and I intend keeping it for another 2.
You talked me into it I'll buy one
I’m a mechanic and love my e92 m3. I have a e90 325i as well. I tell people that if you’re even slightly mechanically inclined you can upkeep your bmw yourself for very cheap. The dealership gives the bmw a bad taste because they do over charge you for everything.
@@EvoroPictures how is your 325i going?
What about a BMW Supra Scotty?!?! It has a Toyota badge that should count for something.
It already has recalls. Lol
Do you mean the BMW Zupra?
Nice try
People already swapping the 2JZ motors in them.

Scotty: I'm about to end this car's whole car-rear..lol
Bimmer, not beemer.
I have a 2015 BMW 328i. Bought it used with very low mileage. I have 64,000 miles on it now. Not a single repair other than oil changes. Looks great. Drives great. I love it!
Scotty's US government review:
"Endless money pit!"
US looks like a tempting deal but you end up in 22 trillion in debt in no time

Scotty the right man for the right job ! Helping us to discover with is an Endless Money Pit
It’s ok to buy them, just don’t pay more than a few hundred dollars
BMW's are for people who genuinely love them.
They'd make very good rentals. If you cant afford a new one, don't even think about getting a used one !
Im a BMW mechanic, I love to work on these cars! (I own a 330i e46 model which is awesome)!, the newer cars are a lot of plastic crap and an endless money pit like Scotty says...
I also have an E46 last one with real engineering!
The 02, E30,E32,E36,E38,E39 are real BMW's for me.
@@SwingEzzZZ had an E36 a while ago, till someone drove into it in a car park.
@@SwingEzzZZ they are high quality but a bit too square for me...
E46 is the best
I got a 2009 coupe and loving it. I’m taking her to my trusted indie-garage for maintenance and repairs which saves me a lot of money.
I bought a 3 series with 100.000 miles on it. Had the dealer change the clutch UNDER WARRENTY. Yes, the clutch. I put 40 thousand extra miles on it and the only thing that broke was a thermostat. Boy did I have fun driving that.
I think Scotty just slightly fell in love with BMW while trashing BMW
LOL so what I fell in love with a 1995 bmw its 2020 now Im still in love with it lol it made me become a better mechanic it mademe into a youtube auto machanic great 60 000 km later lol
When you’re laying on your deathbed you’ll be thinking: “Gee, I’m sure glad I drove boring cars all my life. Think of all the money I saved instead of driving something nice...croak”
Nice observation. A one in thousand reply like yours seems so rare nowadays.
when he's laying on his deathbed he'll be thinking "gee i'm sure glad i realized that cars are just TRANSPORTATION, and not some reflection of my 'coolness', so spending mad money on them is STUPID and thus i was able to maximize my life by spending my limited money on things that MEAN SOMETHING."
lol, the janitor in my building drives a leased mercedes and thinks hes a pimp!...when in actuality he's a fooking janitor who eats hotpockets for dinner and brags to hos at asian massage places about his car and is on the verge of bankruptcy.

BMW owner here. Take care of your car and it’ll take care of you
coffeecookie Did you buy it new? For sure that is good advice.
@James Medina I bought it used
coffeecookie How do you take care of the stuff that Toyota kept sending back to BMW during quality testing of the Supra?

I love my 335i, paid 6k for her and spend 500$ on all the gaskets and did the work myself. Spent and other 2k on Bolton’s and a tune. Things a beast

I've put 20k miles on my e92 325i with virtually no trouble, now on 70k miles. Most reliable car I have owned by far, and not too expensive to maintain if you know a good mechanic

Scotty: Endless Moneypit❗️
Nobody?
@Zeba Tech And in the Endless Money Pit Universe that Scotty spoke of.
Zeba Tech
I like German cars but they are endless money pits at least here in the U.S they might be better built in Germany since they probably have better parts and better engineers that put them together
Wtf are you smoking? They are money pits here in Europe too.
I've got that exact model.
Amazing engine however with anything BMW its everything that attaches to the engine that tends to break, however!
A lot of issues can be avoided by doing simple services regularly once a year or 5,000 miles and preventative maintenance e.g. I noticed the serpentine belt in mine was showing some ware so got it replaced along with the pullies, will never have to worry about either again while l own the car.
I just hope he don't get a heart attack for all that effort
Fortunately, German-styled sheet metal looks gorgeous....even when it's _not moving._
atticstattic they are economical to operate as long as they’re NOT MOVING.
Italian-styled sheet metal is way better! :)
The more you trash BMW the cheaper I buy them! Keep up the good work! BMW FTW!
Wiliam Forsythe scotty is a millionaire lol
@Wiliam Forsythe to broke? Lol He prefers to let others buy them, to then get clients and fix them 😁
Wiliam Forsythe he has more $ than u tho lol
If you want luxury, speed, and reliability, get a Lexus ISF or IS 350 (Either will destroy a BMW 335i). 😉
Wiliam Forsythe ”HeS tOo bRoKe To aFfOrd oNe”. Scotty has a networth of 10 million buddy.
I had a 330d 2010 convertible. Bought it at 150k miles and sold it at 180k miles. Never had an issue with the engine or the transmission or roof. The M Sport suspension was too low and rough for city driving, and the suspension bushings and shocks needed replacing. Other than that the car was a dream
I own 2 different BMWs and both have bumper to bumper warranties. I learned the hard way with my 1st one. Dont own any german or high end car without one.
"Endless Money Pit Universe" - Scotty 2019
When Scotty crapping on cars and car companies is more entertaining than how to fix a car videos 😂🤣
MEANWHILE, HE BRAGS ABOUT DRIVING A FRONTWHEEL DRIVE CELICA. All we need to know about Scotty is that he doesn’t like driving cars with any style or performance. I’ve been a Porsche guy for most of the last 15 years, and I’ve owned BMWs for the last 18 years. Just bought one of these E90 335i sedans. He’s talking about poor fuel economy, yet I commute 130 miles round trip and knock down 29MPG. Again, all you need to know about this guy. All he does is bag on interesting performance cars while driving shitboxes.
Mike Kelly How? He literally reviewed the NSX and newer Lexuses and said that they were pretty good 😂
I had lot off bmws I’m my short life but I loved them , I love them , and I will keep loving them not stoping .. lol
I have the same car, 2013 BMW 335i and I bought it at 93k miles, I really like it it has a white exterior with tan interior and the navigation package, however so far, I have had a knock sensor failure in banks one and two leading to me putting a used engine in the car with 68k miles, that said engine needing new fuel injectors. In addition to that I am going to keep the run flats on mine however I'll probably need to get new shocks because everytime I go over any bump/pothole/or road imperfection it sounds like I have literally had a huge collision. Huge thuds and concerns me about preventative damage to the internal components to the vehicle. Overall very nice car definitely a head turner and although the new 4 series convertible is arguably a better buy, I do appreciate the copious amounts of wood on the dashboard that you will not find in the current generation 4 series.
Why did he spent $10000 first 45k miles. BMW comes with 5 year 50k miles warranty.
You're assuming that the dealership will actually pay for warranty items. Lol
Depends on what he needed to fix. Run flats are VERY EXPENSIVE and not warranty would not cover it unless it was made poorly from manufacturing
He probably did something dumb like drove fast into a deep pot hole bending a few rims. Then he did something more dumb like buy OEM wheels and tires from the dealer
Hyundai now comes with a 10 year 100k mi warranty.
Breaks alone are 1600. Warranty doesnt cover that.
the inspection sticker says 420 lmao
Nice
I've had a F30 328i (inline 4 turbo) and G30 540i (inline 6 turbo) for a few years now and have had zero problems. I do all the maintenance myself and spend less than the Yawnda and Slowyota drivers who go to mechanics.
slowyota🤣
I have a 5 series my 2nd bmw , owned a 3 series before my new one . I love it. Got warranty for it so I’ll be good. And I’ll keep extending the warranty till I buy a new one . Gotta have money to own these beautiful cars 🤷🏽♂️
The way Scotty says "hoooeeee!" Before showing the pig 😂
Hahaha
THIS PLASTIC CHEAPNESS NOW HAS INVADED *ALL* CARS...
The plastic cheapness is on the expensive BMW's
This is true, though some brands use it more than others and on key components that don't tolerate plastic well.
Scotty Is an amazing person
Great video! Yes I have a 2007 320 I BMW3 series coupe and yes it had the fuel injectors replaced before I bought it and I had to replace them again! I have problems with it now and I think it’s carb issues…… i’m going to run into the ground and never look at BMW ever again! It’s the first car that I’ve had major problems with. Although it is beautiful to drive when it is working properly for 90% of the time that I’ve had it it hasn’t been running great.
