- I synced the video from Glasgow 1977 to the audio from Yesshows (1980) of Parallels. I think I did a pretty good job, although the guitar solos are not synced because they're improvised. I tried to sync it the best I could. The Glasgow concert: forgotten-yesterdays.com/dates...
Yesshows: www.yesworld.com/discography/...
Disclaimer: I don't own the video or the audio of this performance, all credit goes to the band Yes for their amazing work. This video is just syncing the two together. - Hry
i learned every squire line on bass looking to join a YES cover band, but then i tried to sing his vocal lines while playing his bass lines...
🤟😎❣️🎶 we feel ya man!!!
Chris was such a beast - what an incredible bass player... RIP
Nothing better than Jon and Chris singing at the same time.
+ steve
Moreover Chris played that "lead bass" and sang along with Jon almost the whole time. It was brilliant.
The bass is incredible on this song, but then again it's incredible on every YES song
the song was written by Chris
@@awaken77 Did you ever hear his Christmas album? It's an absoulte must-have!
THIS is the real TRUE YES, not that bogus band touring now. And this is one of the classic tours that I missed so thanks for posting this amazing video!!
Chris was a great, fantastic bassist. I believe he is still playing - somewhere in the Universe...
Amazingly inventive and unique, like Entwistle crossed with Phil Lesh.
A confession. I was 17. I went to Wembley 7 nights on the trot.
£3.50 a ticket!! It was almost a religious experience. A pilgrimage.
how i envy you!
I was there!!! Never forgotten, STILL the greatest concert I'v ever seen!
Excellent synch, and a great reminder of how versatile Steve is!
Everyone seemingly doing their own thing and yet it comes together to perfection. When Going for the one came out I thought, they will never repeat this album, and they didn’t. The high point for the band.
Agree
This was my first Yes concert at the young age of 20. They were in the round here in Portland. Saw them also for the Union and Talk tours. This was by far the pinnacle of the band IMHO.
The end of a fantastic era.
Yes rules ! RIP Chris and Alan you are missed.
P.S. the audio drops in a few places
Great opener. I saw this tour. Mind blown 🤯
Thanks this brought back many happy memories of seeing YES live. Amazing
I saw this tour in Detroit with Donovan opening. Yes at the peak of their powers. I'll never forget
I saw the tour in Chicago and saw YES watching Donovan from the side of the stage.
Donovan Cosmic Wheels very good by the way.
the Tormato Tour was my first (of many) YesShows that i got to attend...❤
It's a shame there isn't more video of YES in those days. Thanks for posting! RIP, Chris and Alan...
ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL VIDEO..
I LOVE.
SIMPLY LOVE UNCLE~MR.STEVE HOWE...
Agreed, good work, Kaz!! TY
what a difference a band that makes real rehearsal. Nice sync for a incredible band!!
WOW really great post thank you.I think this is the only time i can think of when i saw Steve playing a Fender Stratocaster. It sounds wonderful and it makes me wish he would have picked one up ,ore than he did. Chris's bass is over the top here just really really great- AS usual.
and Chris Squire playing a Jazz Bass…
saw Yes at Stafford on that 77 tour, brilliant!
Saw them the Wednesday and Thursday . Couldn’t afford the extra added night on Friday ☹️ Fantastic times
Me too! Part of the North Staffs Poly contingent!
absolutely incredible
An insuperable Yes
How do you grow up on your parents' music and 50's rock and roll, and come up with THIS??? There was nothing like this before it. The name always fit the music too.
One of Yes' greatest songs and incredible to have seen them play it at various venues. Steve and Chris are on fire and play perfectly together. Rick Wakeman is on another level proving why few can touch him. It's another face melting anthem!!
I totally agree. The Going for the One tour. Steve and Chris pushed this and a lot of the Yes tunes. Rick just was doing awesome Rick and Jon was just being awesome Jon. What a band they were.
Yes was the first concert I ever saw - April 1980 at the old Olympia stadium in Detroit..... a tin can for sure but I was hyped watching all this as they were live 'in the round'... Rick Wakeman defines the band with his progressive rock organ riffs...
This is YOUR song Chris Squire, and YES we love it.
Wonderful job!!! Love this. I understand the sound skips, mostly during Steve's parts, you explained it so well. So, what can I add to all that's been written here... Love YES, love what fans around the world bring up to media, so, we can get a glimpse of what YES meant to all of us, worldwide. Thanks for sharing!
Just so great. Thank you
Love this version , better than the studio version.
I was charmed by this song, when I heard it first time. It should be performed in the cathedral with real pipe organ
Thanks for posting them. Fabulous. Good time for you
Saw them in a massive V bomber hanger at RAF Stafford. On this tour. Amazing........
Do you mean Bingley hall Stafford . They did 3 nights . I managed the Wednesday and Thursday 😊
@Ken Crabtree yes I think it was Donovan opened he was surprisingly good too.
@Ken Crabtree I will always remember the hypnotic magic of seeing them perform Awaken - live. Truly unique and amazing.
@@randlerobbertson8792 it was the county showground . I saw a number of bands there late 70’s Yes were easily the best . They suddenly stopped doing concerts there , I’ve no idea why .
Was at this Glasgow show. It was my first ever gig. Saw Chris and Steve arrive together at the stage door before the show.
Unbelievable! Thank you for
This!
The soundtrack of my youth.
Chris with a Jazz Bass. Sweet
wow well done, LOVE IT
Great work! :)
The music is obtained from the album and added to the image of the concert
Great job, thanks!
I believe of all the yes songs this one in just 5 minutes proves what mind blowing musicians these guys are. I saw this tour in Washington DC and remember it as a religious experience.
Great job!
cool, thanks for doing this
Great sync job. Your time was to avail!
MAGNÍFICO !!!
Thank you!
Oh my god. One of bands..ever
Audio recording ..with idsues
The way Steve does that little jig on the first close-up and the fact the Chris is playing a Jazz and it sounds just like a Rickenbacker and why is Rick in the Gods?
A melhor banda, o melhor LP GOING FOR THE ONE
3 nights at the Apollo ! I was there ! Support act: DONOVAN !
The Greatest🎉
I was in Antwerp as part of this tour
While the entire compliment of YES was incredible, Chris was the standout as far as influencing the next generation of bassists!
RIP Chris Squire!
Alan's North Drum kit sounds Great!
I don't think I've ever seen Chris without a Rickenbacker! 😲
the other ones would be to small lol
IIRC this was the one Yes album where he used this Jazz bass for parts of it. You can see it in the extensive making-of videos for the album. Also used the regular Ric and an 8-string.
He plays different basses on surprisingly many Yes tracks (Like some songs on Time And A Word and Tempus Fugit, for example)
@@KazBodnar: not to mention awaken 😁
this was always on the jukebox when i playing the pinball, why? because i cudnt stopped playing it!!
Chris with the Fender bass- sounds cool; a little thicker than the Rick.
4:44 = best keyboards ever
YO♥️YES.
This is great... but sadly, the begining of the end.....
I newd a time machine asap.
What happened with the sound on Steve Howe solos?
why the hell does it look like Wakeman is in the next room?
Yes meine absolute Lieblingsband.
You are correct. It isn't Yes without Anderson and Squire.
zu wenige Deutsche schätzen diese Musik
Quoi ?? Chris et Steve avec Fender ?? ... mais qu'est-ce que ça veut dire ??!! 🤣🤣 Amour éternel à Yes !!!
Mr Squire was smoking that night.
Fender Precision Bass, I think?
jazz
Amazing footage
Starts at 1:22
Rick Wakeman es increíble!! ♥️
