    • @SamWinchester000
      @SamWinchester000 Před 5 lety +19

      @@fifaisscripted They did, BUT from the five players on Lehmann's paper there were only ca. three on it that actually were selected for the shoot-out by Argentina, and two of them did not take their favourite side which stood on the paper. I think, with one of Lehmann's saves he did not take the side from the paper but the opposite one, and the other safe was against someone not standing on the paper, so in the end the paper helped nothing and it was Lehmann himself who made the right decisions when he stopped two penalties. The paper was only a psychological thing against the Argentinians and is nowadays a great anecdote, but Lehmann was the real hero.
      Btw, what Oliver Kahn did was simply to wish him luck although he couldn't stand the fact that Lehmann had taken his place and considered him an opponent stating that goalkeepers could never be friends. So it was a great thing from him to overcome his anger and wish Lehmann the best focusing on the best for the team.

    This match has a very interesting story. Before the rival, Köpke, Oliver Kahn and Lehmann made a meeting about the penalties and the Argentinian players' penalty performances. Lehmann wrote all the details on a paper and put into his leggings. While the penalties has started, Lehmann checked his notes and as you see he went the right corners but only save the Ayala's shoot and German's score all the chances. Then the last order is for Cambiasso and he came through the ball with full of nervous. Moreover, he saw that Lehmann checked a paper and read it. Then he stressed ot more...He kicked and Lehmann saved...The point is, there is no information for Cambiasso on paper :) It was an of the most beautiful immortal stories of the World Cups history...

      therealvik but their lineup wasn’t as great as this. Argentina was an underdog during wc 2014. Not many expected them to be in final, especially after poor qualification, and mediocre in grouping stage. But Argentina 2006 is the favourite, even more than germany even though they’re the host. Their squad is just unbelievable.
