@@superlitin1 Black Metal is not a genre created to be brutal. Slam and Grindcore are, but def not Black Metal. Kaatayra, None and Xasthur are what come to mind when i think of black metal, although the story behind Mayhem is pretty brutal, that doesnt make the genre any more brutal.
@@superlitin1 As i stated. Despite how brutal the story was, that doesnt change that the music is way less brutal than the story behind it itself. If i were looking for brutal lyrical themes i would check Infant Annihilator. And of course i know Burzum ffs. Filosofem is a masterpiece, but again. Despite all of this, Black Metal is not brutal.

Fun story, I spent a whole night trying to find this album but I couldn’t remember the name, but I knew it was on Adult Swim. I wouldn't call this album brutal but rather extremely vibrant and colourful. There are only few albums that tell you through sounds a story and this is one of them. Whenever I'm listening to this album, I'm imagining a story about a cyborg girl, who is working for a big corporation as a hero bringing justice to the universe and seeking the truth about her past until she finds it. She betrays her shady company and declares a war with her new friends against the other "heros" working under this cooperation. Explosive and mind-blowing battles occur. With every deadly fight against her overpowered enemies she gets stronger until she reaches godlike powers with and without technological upgrades. Later on, she is transcending in a sad way away after a heavy battle finding the peace she seeked while she also revolutionized the society of the universe.

You mean, “big corporation”?
bro its a girl with a machinegun on her arm thats it
yeah lmao like matt said, they dont like to label their music as "industrial" its meant to be colorful, like all of the albums
I love wlfgrl ,but this isn't even the most brutal machine girl album imo
U void synthesizer is WAY more brutal
BYAAHAYSF is closer.
I think The Ugly Art is the most brutal overall. U-Void has higher highs in brutality, but also has a handful of cool-off points, and BIYAAHEYSF is a very close second.

Venetian snares comes to mind as something more brutal in some aspects, lolicore is also quite a heavy genre that is gaining some popularity
Goes to show how educated he is about the subjects he covers in his videos lol
legoshi pfp hiii
Anything on the more extreme side of metal is much more brutal than this. Good album though.
I think the whole "most brutal" bit distracts from how good the album is. Honestly even if you want to side step all the Japanese noise you've covered, I think Atari Teenage Riot were more brutal decades before Machine Girl. Still, Machine Girl locks in their aesthetic to sound perfectly, and boy, what a sound! It feels like the future club experience games like Burn-Cycle promised. An ice-bath dive into kinetic frenzy after a long sweltering oppressive day, from which you then surface only to lounge on a dark corner couch drinking neon cocktails and talking about neural implants with black market cyber-hustlers.
Atari teenage riot and digital hardcore records are fuckin wild lmao
You literally made a video about Pulse Demon what are you talking about with "most brutal album"
My first thought. WLFGRL is heavy but not nearly the most brutal.
Even I wouldn't personally describe Pulse Demon and noise at large as "brutal". I think "nauseating" is a better word.
@@youtubeuserdan4017 I think I would personally describe you as "gay" and "homsexual".

honestly if WLFGRL is the most brutal album you've heard, you need to listen to more music.
nevertheless WLFGRL is brutal as fuck, I'm so glad you covered this :))
Edit: also couldn't disagree more on the second half - in my opinion the intensity increases after Out By 16, Dead On The Scene. Phase μ, Freewill and Excruciating Deth are all incredibly energetic tracks that feel complete and propulsive.
I agree, The Ugly Art and BIY are 100% more extreme lol
Igorrr is way more brutal than WLFGRL
agreed
I keep seeing that I gotta check out u-void and the ugly art.. this is the best thing about CZcams as a platform for me.. being able to have material to afterwards go off of because of comments like yours, thanks for watching my dude :) and please feel free to hit me with more suggestions as well, what I can cover on here is endless and I’m always looking for the next thing, whether it’s another MG album to cover or something else! @@PadChennington Definitely do so! You won’t regret it, although I’d argue TUA is more cohesive U-Void is still great in its own ways.
Would argue that if you’re gonna go over their work in the realm of “brutal” listen to Because I’m Young Arrogant and Hate Everything You Stand For and move forward from there to their more recent albums. Still sick to see MG get featured.

@Death Hand Studios Kind of unfair to say that Sewerslvt is better since she started making music around 2016, and this album came out in 2014. No diss to her tho. I own IRLY EP on cassette and Draining Love Story on vinyl. Machine Girl has also branched off from breakcore and now makes digital hardcore.

the album has very abandoned crumbling mall vibes to me and im here for it
I really need to make a playlist of Pad Chen recommendations.
I'm glad I'm not the only one to have listened to this. Its really freaked me out big time when I first heard it. Exceptional content as always my man
Hi I'm curious as to what aspect freaked you out? Only asking because to me this album is very pleasant, was it perhaps Phase α? Perhaps Excruciating Deth?
@@Smo2i I also get a pleasant vibe. I find the melodies bright and upbeat. The drums can be abrasive, but there's moments of joy and it reminds me of a 90s japanese video game soundtrack on crack, especially Ape Escape
@@SX1995able I won't lie the repetitive nature of ionic is a lil bit straining when it just loops but when the rest of the samples come back its relieving so I guess in some way it was a bit "brutal" in that aspect. Still so confused as to why he put "the most brutal" in the title, probs better for the algorithm to use superlatives to draw attention and what not. Maybe he just doesn't listen to much aggressive stuff?? Who knows though.
@@Smo2i I can't speak for the op but I got the same feeling as him when I first got into machine girl. With this being my first electronic album I listened too, it's pretty intense. But after listening to machine girl for around a year now I agree with you guys,
As a very hiphop centric music consumer, it was very rare for me to try an album and this album was a completely new field for me, but I instantly fell in love. Out by 16 is perfect

Yeah, more Machine Girl rep! Wouldn't call his stuff "brutal" by breakcore standards, though. By the way, check out Igorrr's stuff as well; his stuff is essentially death/black metal mixed with hardcore breaks, and it's possibly some of the denseset and most vicious-sounding music I've ever heard aside from maybe mathcore as a genre.
