The valve does look much cleaner so I assume that makes a difference to fuel consumption. I also recommend using the transmission in auto mode on the city or in stop start traffic like you might get on the daily commute. When you're riding on the highway or open roads use the manual option as it gives access to the 6th gear leading to better fuel economy.

Absolutely, I only turn the bike to manual when it's on highway.
