I live in the States, Oregon, and bought a 650 Burgman, I love it! The most fun I’ve had in years! I am 72, and wish I had bought one years ago! I ride in all weather but snowy and icy conditions! I put 1500 miles on it the 1st month☺️

Much prefer the simpler spec of the Burgerman ;) to other maxi's on the market, less bells and whistles to go wrong while still being a more than capable scooter.

Just bought an Burgman 400 in June this year :-)
I don't really want to drive anything else now to be honest :-D
Its motor with 30hp is more than enough plus the Burgman 400 combines comfortable and sporty driving very well :-)
I ride along "regular" morotcycles a lot and I have no problem keeping up with them.
    Greeting from germany :-)

To be honest I don't think the lack of equipment is a let down because a lot of people have digital screens in their faces all day part of the enjoyment of riding is to get away from the world and be free of technology.
The more electronics, screens etc the more to fail and distract.
One reason the Royal Enfield bikes are so popular is because they lack the tech and are very retro and cool looking.
I'd rather basic tech that is actually useful such as traction control and ABS.
We see more and more tech appearing on bikes and we see the price rise as a result, same in cars, why not just make basic bikes and cars that are cheaper and do the job just fine ?

Would I trade the shockingly good twin disk braking on the front, the room and seat comfort for my six-four; for electronic gismos that I will never use? Not a chance. To say the Suzuki is a lower spec machine.... It depends what you value. I really value my Burgman 400 simplicity and reliability riding in remote areas in Northern Canada.

Just purchased the 2024 Burgman 400 yesterday, I purchased a new one in 2004 when my first son was born, but took a spill on it and the wife said that was it for two-wheel bikes. Fastward 20 years and here I am. I was looking for the Burgman 650, but Suzuki no longer offers the 650, so I settled for the 400. So far I put 15 miles on the Bike coming home from the Bike dealership. Today it snowed so I was unable to ride. Can't wait to get back on it. It will probably take me 6 months to get through the break-in period.

I have had two Burgman 400s. I love them. They're not as fast as some but they're comfortable and suit my style of riding. Just riding at moderate speeds enjoying the scenery. Thinking of scenery there seems to be some lovely riding country round your way.

As others have said, not everbody wants keyless ignition or some of the other "improvements". The Burgman is a great scooter and has everything that I, and many others need for a daily driver. Mines a 2012 model which has the largest storage of any of the models. I can't think of anything which would replace it, besides maybe a TMax (but with worse economy)

I got a Honda ADV 150 - I'm liking the 85 (US) MPG but for the price it was new I could've gotten this or even bigger used. NO one knows what the gas prices will increase to, I loathed $5.30 a gallon for gas and the scoots will come in clutch for fuel savings for sure.

    • @ScooterLabUK
      @ScooterLabUK  Před 10 měsíci

The only reason we don’t is that the UK importers don’t have demo scooters. They also don’t advertise so it makes it hard to get a scooter, or to pay the bills. Doing a road test takes over a week by the time we’ve ridden it, done video, photos, edited the video, written an article, laid it out and published it.
I used to do a lot of road testing with SYM and they’re a great scooter so it’s a shame.

Odd that Suzuki priced its scooters at the top end. Suzuki was always the bargain basement of the "big four" motorcycle manufacturers. At one point, the 650 was a lot more expensive than one of its cars. They are going to suffer at the hands of some the decent scooters coming out of China eg Zontes.
