Hi!!😊 Can you make a video about someone who just finished high school any will immigrate with family to Canada, but wants to study MBBS there. What would be the process? Hoe much it would cost? And is it easier in Canada or UK?
Please can you list the kinds of jobs an IMG can apply for that can sponsor one's visa in Canada? I would also prefer your second point.

Dr. Rajeev,
Many thanks for your comprehensive and detailed videos. I was wondering - many colleges in different Canadian provinces recognize US residencies as equivalent, allowing IMGs who have matched and completed US residencies to then apply for PR, and begin work in Canada. Not only that, Canadian colleges even recognize some UK specialist training certificates as equivalent, along with a select few countries. I'm wondering if it's possible for Indian graduates to complete lets say, internal medicine training in the US, and then apply for PR, and then work in Canada - this way they would've have to repeat residency training? Wondering what's your thoughts on this.
Dr. Rishab, great question. Yes Indian IMGs can do residency in the USA and work directly in Canada after meeting licensing requirements.
Curious why do you want to do that?

Hello! Thank you so much for this video! For the second pathway so they accept imgs straight from medical school?

Hello , always thanks for you for videos, I like to listen about the IMG information, I have questions
Can I work in Canada as a clinical fellowship and get paid job ??
And the clinical fellowship isn't necessary do the MCCQE1 ??
Take in consideration I will go by the express entry pathway .
Dr. Rana, if you have completed your residency or PG training from your home country, yes you are eligible to apply for a clinical fellowship. No MCC exams required. Once you satisfy the express entry requirements as a fellow, you can apply for one
What are those "a lot of job opportunities" ? Can somebody explain with a lot of examples?
Excellent 😊
Thank you! Cheers!

Hello Sir,your videos are such excellent and clear information. I have a query, my partner and I are going to pursue pg in India starting this year.we have plans to move to Canada.. I've seen most of your videos..the thing is we know the perks of healthcare as a professional in USA but seeing the scenarios of scary crime rates and gun violence which keeps on increasing only..we are apprehensive about USA..so for a calmer lifestyle..we feel Canada is better and your videos definitely makes us feel that Canada is doable .. through the fellowship pathway..would like your advice about the choice of country sir..
Dr. Podila, thank you for your kind comments.
You are right about the concerns with the USA. No country including Canada is perfect and every country has its pros and cons. As IMGs, most people (if not all) leave their home country because of career options. So in my opinion, from a growth perspective, the USA is still the most desirable. Canada is also a desirable place for IMGs.
I recently went to Australia (Sydney & Melbourne). I met a few IMGs. I liked the Australian work culture too!
Thank you so much for the reply sir. This means a lot. I've checked Australia too .. the visa process and getting a job and all seems chaotic. Will look into it more down the lane sir.. but the provincial fellow route seems doable with proper efforts.. also pr is an added perk..
Thank you for the wonderful video.
After Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) PART A and MRCS PART B, do i have chances to get into Canadian residencies ? (surgical speciality) without canadian med exams ?
You need MCCQE1 and NAC for residency

Hi sir. Very informational videos. Are the mccq and the nac exams international online exams?
Dr. Asha, the MCCQE1 is a computer based online exam and the NAC is an OSCE based in person exam

Dear doctor, I am currently working in the UK’s National Health Service as a Registrar. Do I need to take MCCQE exam to work in Canada?
If you are planning to do residency in Canada, then you do need MCCQE1.

Great video. I am anesthesiologist and I am interested in working in Canada. Could you explain more about the alternate pathway to not repeat residency?

Hey doc thank you for your video , this explained a lot . I am a student here in canada and my husband recently completed mbbs . What would you suggest that should i call him on Sowp first and then complete all the process . ? Like crdential assessment , mccqe etc
For international medical graduates (IMGs), pursuing a closed work permit in Canada is indeed a recommended option by me. This can allow IMGs to gain valuable work experience, particularly in research positions. Research jobs can provide an opportunity to enhance your credentials and potentially increase your chances of obtaining permanent residency (PR) in Canada.
If securing a closed work permit through a research job proves challenging, an alternative approach would be an open work permit.
www.IMGSecrets.com
Does applying to a clinical fellowship (post-residency training) requires an accredited residency program ?
Nope, not at all. Think about this, if an ACGME residency was required, then no IMG would be eligible. This is not the case.

Dr. Rajeev, A ton of thanks on the behalf of all the medical graduates from India doctor sahab. We are happy to have a legend guiding us.

Nameste Dr Rajeev, I am originally from Tamil Nadu and graduated from a prestigious medical institution, the Medical University of Vienna, founded in 1365 as the Medical Faculty of the University of Vienna. When I graduated in 2010, I couldn't do a 3-year internship in Austria because of my Indian citizenship. I only had a student visa. The 3-year internship was only for Austrian and EU citizens at that time. So I had to leave Austria for Germany and start my residency in a psychiatric hospital because there was a shortage of doctors. Since then, I have been working in psychiatric hospitals. I did 15 months in neurology. I would like to go to Canada. What should I do?
You could probably explore fellowships. The exact answers can be provided only after i know your whole story. If interested, you can book an appointment at Calendly.com/IMGSecrets to discuss all your options.

Passing MRCP UK will still need to go through canadian exam
Requirement of Canadian exams depends on what the path you are taking. MRCP has nothing to with this and would be an out of context discussion

Hey doctor, thanks for your effort and good explanation🙏🏼 .
I have a question, I’m Canadian and I have a MBBS from a college in Saudi Arabia, what pathway I’ll go with? They will consider me as IMG or what?

Hello sir, i have just seen your 6 to 7 videos and those are very helpful and fascinating.
I have a simple query.I am recent graduate from Pakista. I have completed my internship 3 months back.I understand all of your options to move to Canada but simply i want to know is what is the most simple and safe route to move there and get a job early?
And after that can I continue fellowship there after securing a job?
Thanks for watching the videos. Your next step would be to do residency.

Question 1 ; I can see my institute listed in the world directory of medical Schools and Canada as one of the Sponsors. Does that mean that I only have to get "SOURCE VERIFICATION" for my degree from Physiciansapply account and an EQUIVALENCY is NOT required , only source verified would be enough ?
Question 2 : You mentioned to simultaneously create express entry profile. But what would we select for our International MBBS degree in the express entry account ? a Bachelors level or Masters level ? because this directly effects points.
Thanks for your response.
The first step is source verification. The subsequent steps would depend on your background and the intended route.

Hello Dr. Rajeev.
My heartfelt gratitude for this crystal clear video giving us such essential information.
I just have a small query. I am at present pursuing my Postgraduation in MD Sports medicine from a recognised institute in India. I was thinking of province based pathway after trying for clinical fellowship but i guess there is not much fellowship programs for this branch. Is there any in those 17 universities mentioned on the other video?
Dr. Paul, thanks. Although not common there are fellowshipis in Sports Medicine. Since they are not common I expect them to be very competitive. If at all any universities would offer it would be in these 17. Check university of British Columbia - they may have it amongst others.

Hello sir,
I am one of the IMG s ( completed Mbbs from India) currently doing postgraduation in internal medicine in the UK with Mrcp half way ( been in UK since 2020). What pathway would you recommend for me as I wish to do my speciality training in Canada?
The ultimate path would depend on your training background & whether you would have a CCT or not.
If you need to discuss your options in person, you can book an appointment here at Calendly.com/IMGSecrets
@Anpumariya hey I see you are doing your postgrad in the uk do you mind if I ask how you got in?
Hello doc.
My husband is already done with his residency training in Internal Medicine here in the Philippines. What's the best way for him to get a license? I'm planning to get a student visa in Canada and he will have an open work permit. Hoping for your kind response. Thank you :)
Congratulations. As i have explained in this video, exploring options such as fellowships, repeating residency, or finding a job are potential paths for international medical graduates. Additionally, obtaining a closed work permit under NOC categories that make IMGs eligible for Canadian permanent residency is a strategy worth considering.

Hi, I have just completed my specialty training and now a consultant in one of the approved Jurisdictions. Which is the best Pathway to use in my application?
If you have completed your training from an approved jurisdiction, you are eligible for the approved jurisdiction route offered by the Royal College in Canada.
This pathway allows individuals to apply for recognition of their training and potentially bypass traditional residency requirements.

Hello, Im a neurosurgeon in India, My MBBS and MCh medical college are listed in world directory, but MS which was from private college (Bombay hospital, Mumbai) is not. Im i eligible to apply in canada?
PS- your videos are very informative, would highly recommend to anyone who wants to plan for canada.
Thank you, Dr. Pankaj. Yes, you are. Medical College training has to be WHO-recognized. But since you are from a private college, your application should be made really strong!
Greetings Dr. Rajeev,
Thank you for providing this highly important information in such a clear and concise manner. Although somewhat discouraged, I have a much better understanding of how the process works. I say discouraged because I'm 54 and out of practice for almost twenty years. I live in the USA and was unable to pass the USMLE process due to complex family and personal circumstances. However, I want to think there is still a tiny light of hope for me. Thinking about the second option, I would like your advice regarding how to obtain a job in Canada; I had applied for a couple of positions in healthcare and as a clinical research associate in Alberta and Ontario, but I never received a response, not even to tell me I was not accepted. I really would like to have an opportunity to put to good use whatever is left of my profession. I would also appreciate any suggestions you may have as to how to proceed to refresh my knowledge and to attain some experience that may help me to improve my curriculum.
Thank you in advance for your valuable feedback.
Thank you. I appreciate you reaching out to us. I see you are out of clinical practice which will unfortunately work against you. 20 years is a long back. On the other hand, if you apply for research fellowships without experience and guidance, it is typical you will not hear back. Hospitals get a lot of applications. You may need to explore non clinical options but before i give any specific guidance, I really have to do an in-depth analysis of your situation.

Good day Dr! I am an IMG from the Philippines and recently, I got an Invitation to Apply in Ontario in OINP due to an increasing demand in healthcare. I would like to ask if I can get a job offer from Canada if ever I get accepted from this program? Thank you!
That's excellent, Dr. Esa! May I ask which stream you are considering for your application? Regardless of the stream, it is crucial to prioritize securing a job opportunity.
Many immigrants make the mistake of moving to Canada as Permanent Residents (PR) without securing a job beforehand, and unfortunately, they often face challenges and difficulties in their new life. Therefore, it is highly advisable to ensure that you have a job lined up before making the move to Canada, as it can significantly contribute to your successful settlement and integration into the country.

I am from Bangladesh. I am a post graduate doctor here as I have completed FCPS. I wish to move at Canada . Which pathway is better for me ? May I know please!
Is salary better than saudi arabia or dubai?
Hello Dr, I’m a medical student in Ankara Medipol University. It is recognized by WHO, however there is no such thing as Canada/US recognizing the medical degree provided by the university after the education- in the “Sponsor Notes”.
May I ask you how it would effect my immigration process and what you’d recommend me do?
Hi, you must get this fixed to move to USA or Canada to practice medicine. This is fairly straightforward. Your medical school must work with ECFMG in USA and MCC in Canada to obtain a sponsor note. This should not however affect your immigration directly.
www.IMGSecrets.com
@@IMGSecrets Thank you, doctor. I’ll for sure notify my university about this.
Hi Dr Rajeev..thank you for the video..im an IMG from India.i would like to know the recommended clinical experience required for increasing the chance of getting matched in CARMS..

Good information Dr Rajeev. I hd a question. I have completed usmle step 1,2,3. I am a Canadian Citizen. I heard i am eligible for applying for residency in some provinces here based on usmle.
This is not true. This used to be the case but not anymore.
To pursue a residency in Canada, one must typically complete the qualifying exam and participate in the CARMS process. Alternatively, considering a residency in the USA may be an option.

Hello Doctor, just wanted to know something
I'm a Canadian IMG with an MBBS degree soon to be completed, is internship a must to apply for residency in Canada? Or is doing the MCCQE1 and NAC good enough for applying for residency?

In my opinion, it is a safer bet (and many times must) to complete internship along with MBBS and get a license before applying for residency in Canada.

@@IMGSecrets Of course, I would like to sent you my CV. Could I have your email?
Does the 3rd pathway require to sit and pass the canadian licensing exams?
Depends on what you are entering as. If residency then yes but not for other options.

Hey Doc. im a soon to be medical student from India.. you mentioned to check if my college is approved by WDOMS.. But after the 2024 change i.e. the requirement for the accreditating agency to be recognised by the WFME, will this affect take place for Canada as well and how will it affect IMGs?
The process would be more centralized moving the onus from individual schools to a central organization. By the time you get to write the Steps, I expect this to have been taken care of.

Hello Dr! Thank you for the video! I’ve been reading about the physician stream immigration in Nova Scotia but it explains I need to get a job offer from one of their institutions first in order to apply. It does state that the job offer must indicate “eligibility for licensure” does that mean I need to get PR first and become a licensed physician in canada or can I move to nova scotia and work my licensure there?
Hello, Dr. Leodel. although can be done either ways, applying for jobs directly can often be less burdensome compared to going through the entire process of obtaining permanent residency (PR) before applying.
By applying directly, IMGs can postpone (not skip) the additional steps and requirements involved in acquiring PR, such as meeting eligibility criteria, submitting documentation, and waiting for approval.
However, it's important to note that the suitability of each approach may vary depending on the specific circumstances and requirements of the job and your home country in question.
Hello sir. Thanks for taking the time to educate us on the pathways. I would like to know if getting a job like a research assistant needs any lisence?
@@IMGSecrets Hi, Dr. Rajeev,
In Atlantic immigration program when you say applying for jobs, do you mean non-medical jobs, or can we work as a medical doctor without getting licensed and then get licensed? Also in Atlantic immigration program, you said you can start applying to CARMS matching. Does that mean we can apply for matching without taking the mccqe-1 and nac exams?

Hello Sir; Im a practicing Ophtgalmologist from India; specifically a Vitreo Retinal Surgeon. What steps should I take to land a job in Cabada ?

Hello sir!
We always hear that getting a residency position or even a job as a doctor in Canada is almost impossible for IMGs especially other than Indian and Chinese. How much is it true? I am about to join my wife in Canada we both are doctors graduated from Afghanistan and Russia. Is there any chance for us to get into our profession?
Much appreciated
You've got it right! Matching into residency in Canada is undeniably a highly competitive endeavor. However, I must emphasize that I don't want to make any sweeping statements about specific ethnic groups without solid data to support the claims. That said, it's true that there are many IMGs who have successfully matched into residency programs. On the flip side, there are also IMGs who have faced frustration in their journey.
To increase your chances of success, it's crucial to take careful steps in building your CV without wasting too much time. This entails working diligently, being persistent in your efforts, and maintaining a hopeful mindset. Remember, there are no guarantees, but by putting in the necessary effort, you can maximize your opportunities for a positive outcome.

Please Dr, I have a few questions 1)does one have to pass both the mccq and NAC? or either of them?
2)Also to be clear, for an IMG following the traditional pathway, the order would be: Registration-Credentials-Exams-PR-Licence. Right?
3)Can the exams be written outside Canada?
4)Is this traditional pathway gonna allow one start residency straight up?(I graduated 4 years ago, did my internship and have 2years of General practice. Recently commenced Residency in my home country(2 months ago)
@@tawontor1643 To do residency in Canada, you will have to complete all the mandatory requirements set forth

Did M.D. pardiatrics and undergoing D.M. Neonatology. What is pathway ? What is salary as a trained Naonatologist.
That's great, you are experienced. You either enter a fellowship and explore other options or repeat residency. The salary depends on many factors but in general is pretty good to have a lifestyle. If you need help on how to approach this, you can explore www.IMGSecrets.com and book an appointment from there.

Sir just wanna clarification:- just holding mrcp/mrcs/frcp/frcs certificate without CCT (as many doctors do) doesn't make you qualify enough to get Royal College Examination.
Thank you.
Great question. With CCT, it is lot more straightforward. Without CCT, you could try practice eligibility route. Success depends on your background - makes it a bit of a gamble
@@IMGSecrets thanks doc.
Hello, thank you for informing,
As I am a subspecialist IMG, what is the best route for me?
@@bcisaazandieh1491 I am not sure of your sub specialty but the better option for you would be to apply for a clinical fellowship and then explore further steps
Many thanks for the information. Can you please provide guidance for a GP qualified in UK and planning to move to CANADA as a GP?
I am an IMG from Delhi and starting GP training in UK buf plan to shift to Canada in long term.
Is there a direct pathway please?
Thanking you in anticipation.
Best regards
Dr. Deepak, great question, it depends on whether you have a CCT or not! If you have one it would be easy to integrate, if not then you would have to go through like any other IMG.
At any time if you feel like you are stuck or confused, you can always reach out to me at www.IMGSecrets.com and book an appointment!
i have done MD from nepal. i m planning to apply fellowship in cardiology in USA, how difficult is it ? which fellowship is easy?
Nothing is easy, but given the right approach candidates stand a chance - strong application with a professional CV and cover letter

Thanks Sir, I am from Bangladesh. I have completed my FCPS part 1 exam and MRCOG part 1. Now, I want to work in Canada as a clinician in OG. I’m trying to complete my MRCOG part 2 exam from my own country. Now, Is there any opportunity for me to get job offer as clinician of OG in any tertiary hospital in Canada which will fulfil of 03 years training requirement to apply MRCOG part 3 exam from Canada. If it is possible, then should I sit for licensing exam to practice as doctor of OG in Canada.
Dr. Munjur, if IMGs are trained from certain high income countries, then they can approve directly to Royal College for approval. In your case, options are to go through clinical fellowship and the other path may be practice eligibility route (which is a bit of a gamble)
Hi sir, thankyou for the valuable information you shared. Where can I find jobs suitable for IMGs without medical post graduation who didn't take MCCQE1 and OSCE exams? I'm interested in jobs that will help me in getting matched to a residency and getting the PR. Is it possible to do paid internship in Canada without passing MCCQE1 and OSCE?
