      @@bobsaget1606the Silverado interior is not the same as the Denali or AT4’s. The center console area all the way up to the infotainment screen is actually quite different in them. The Denal and AT4 interior is more refined and laid out differently.

    We have both in our business. Not the top of line of either but high 80's on both. I preferred the Ford on many counts. Power, comfort and extra stuff like the plug on the inside and in cab..etc. The seats are a big one for us on long hauls. They are way comfier. The dash looks better on the GMC but the wood doesn't do it for me. The exterior looks I prefer on the GMC. Now I feel the ride is better with nothing in the beds of the GMC where when I add 300lbs in the Ford it helps soften it up. Both great, both have been flawless in 20k miles.

    Ford’s tailgate camera is an awesome idea. On my RAM 1500, if I try to back up with the tailgate down, it freaks out the parking sensors and will lock up the brakes if I forget to turn the sensors off before backing up. It is very shocking when it happens too! 😂

    GM looks the best, and the Auto 4wd is the clincher, even though Ford has the edge everywhere else. But with that being said, I would still buy the F450 over a GM for my next horse trailer over the GM, all because of the turning radius, and even though I like GM features better.

    I'm a Ford guy (and yes, the seats are far superior on the Ford), but these days, having gone minimalist in expectation of the upcoming retirement, I don't even have a garage that could swallow that beast, and no side parking area. Why am I watching this? 😂

    • @CH-RC
      @CH-RC Před 2 měsíci +6

      I wouldn’t say far superior at all. Initially they feel more comfortable but at least for me the range of adjustment (how low they go) and driving very long hours, the Ford seats slowly cut off my circulation. I’m about 6’0” 190lbs. Initially the GMC feel opposite, very firm but over long drives and after a certain amount of time they break in gradually and are much more supportive. The Ford seats also are cheaper in material quality. Ford up front, GMC over the long haul. Something to consider I think - I’ve owned both.

One big drawback I have found with the GMC tailgate step is if you have the bed loaded, with lets say a pallet of whatever, you can't raise the step handle to climb into the bed to offload. You and your dad are quickly becoming my favorite truck review channel.. Your right up there with TFL and other professional channels.
    In was one of those who mentioned the Chevy isn't a very good comparison in terms of dollar for dollar against a Ford in the trims King Ranch, Platinum and Limited. Ford simply offers a lot of additional features in these trim levels. A better comparison in the “dollar for dollar” is the Ram Limited, limited longhorn and GMC Denali Ultimate.
    Even so, Ford still offers more “luxury” items at these levels… but they are very close comparisons.
    I think the GMC exterior (except wheel well shape) is a much better looking truck. The interiors are both amazing. What drives me nuts in the GM luxury vehicles is the lack of ambient lighting. These black interiors need ambient lighting on the floors, the doors, glove box, center console etc. The best system ever offered was when Ford offered the Ambient lighting in the F-150 from 11-14 model years. The ambient could be controlled for color and brightness. Also the cup holders had ambient light rings which were amazing.
    I'm going to buy a new truck next year. Keep upnyhe reviews. I appreciate all the hard work and Knowledge you provide to consumers and enthusiasts.
    Yes agree. My wife Tahoe has the a u to setting and it's really beneficial. Why… she never remembers to turn off 4x4 when she manually turns it on. In just have her place it in auto.

I doubt that will happen because Ram has too much drama going on right now. I love the GMC’s Multi Pro Tailgate because I am shorter than 6ft(1.8M). Since Ford copied the sidestep and the bumper step from GM I wish they would be able to copy the Multi Pro Tailgate. I agree with your Dad that the GMC Denali is a more elegant truck, but I would buy the Ford because it has the features that I want like the secondary tailgate camera, the bed scales, the 2kw bed outlet and the 4 cup holders. I am not sure if the High Output Power Stroke is worth an extra $2,500(USD)/$3,381.87(CAD). Not a typo. Vehicles are priced differently in the US and Canada. It is not based on the conversion. And in this case, GMC USA seems to offer more value where GMC Canada thinks its truck should be priced above the competition.

    I was hoping for a more in depth comparison of the truck actually working and towing heavy loads up hills and down. Numbers mean nothing on paper. That test they did in Colorado years ago whit the trucks towing identical loads up hill and down hill. To see something more off road like a guy would on jobsite. Highlighting the engine and transmission design would be nice. I know the duramax has grown off the same platform since the 2011 LML. But I know nothing of the 10 speed trans. I don’t know what generation engine the ford is on now, and I could be wrong but I didn’t hear you speak about the ford transmission. Take my comments with a grain of salt. You covered ALOT of great details on both trucks that were very helpful

  • @kingjames8283
    @kingjames8283 Před 2 měsíci

    Obviously I am a long time Ford guy however when it comes to the interior, GMC has that in spades with the natural warm earth tones which I wish Ford would incorporate in their interiors. Even on my F-150 Supercrew, it's dark gray against light gray and it's bland and boring. I'd personally love to see wood grain added to the dash panel and door panels to break up the monotony and make it more inviting. One of my favorite Ford interiors is the King Ranch saddle leather. When you climb into that truck with extremely muddy boots on and leather gloves, it's no big deal because that is what that interior styling is geared towards. Mud on the seats, no big deal just brush it off after is dries out.

    GM is the best in my eyes. In any case, I replace my truck every five years, except for the company's used car, I will choose to use the used car until it is scrapped. Every time, I will consciously drive my car to GM to replace it with a new 2500HD truck, and I will not study who will be better or more expensive. For those of us who work hard every day, driving a fancy pickup truck and drinking coffee on the wide road to meet the sunset and think of our own home is the best.

If you just want a better towing capacity truck then go with the ford. But in my opinion with all of the rumors about gmc 8.3 liter duramax coming. I think FORD may have to step up their game.

    The only things I’ll knock the gmc for are the seats, no power adjustable foot pedals and no power adjustable steering column/wheel.
    I would knock it for not having a panoramic sunroof but I won’t since I don’t like fords or rams.
    Gm if you’re reading this, put in a panoramic sunroof or bigger sunroof that can be opened up all the way or just enough for the driver and passengers to stick up through. I know it sounds silly but that’s what the old school sunroofs were used for. But have the choice for no sunroof as well for the people who know they eventually start leaking.

    GM takes the win. I've had both. GM rides way better. GM has a superior fuel system. I think the transmission is a lot smoother. The only edge i would think the ford has is, its built tougher with the solid front axle and a select few other things that make it a better work truck. The F150 looks great and has great proportions. The Super Duty looks too narrow and weird from the front. The Sierra looks amazing from every angle and that colour works with the chrome really well. But GMC needs to look at Buick and Cadillac and take some inspiration for their interiors. They look very dated.
