As a life long Habs fan living in Toronto, this was the greatest series of hockey I've seen in my life! Everything about it was just perfect. The trash talk from Toronto media when it was 3-1. Then the comeback to force game 7! You knew it was over by then. The deep run they went on after was just icing on top the cake for me.
@Jeepman89 Haha, sure buddy! Not that interesting, nothing to see here
@Jeepman89 covid playoffs meant the second round was handed to the leafs, playing the worst team in the playoffs and they still choked
Only reason Habs even Made the playoffs was cause Covid. And then barely avoided getting swept by Tampa in round 4 OT yikes.
@@BerserkGuitarist whats that say about the leafs lmao
@@Azm1919 What? That they choke every damn playoff? I'm not defending them. I just know only reason Habs made it as far as they did us cause Leafs always choke. And the Jets ain't even good. Neither is Vegas. Then Tampa the first cup contending team they meet along the way crapped on them.
When I’m feeling down. I watch this.
No joke when KK scored in OT in game 6 I must’ve woken up the entire street. What a game
i hear ya . when i need a lift i watch the 93 playoffs there was so much cheekiness by the habs the patrick roy wink the illegal stick of mcsorely . gretzky saying they smell blood after game 1 but lose the series was such a great moment in hockey all the ot wins the list goes on
Now look at this year's series vs Boston lol. Same ol team, same delusional Leafs fans.
This brings me so much joy, everytime... Every. single. time.
it brings me so much joy to watch you get shut out 1-0 in game 5 😄
@@Zoobert321 it's Tampa.. it's a super team.. kinda like Toronto.. but you know .. better and with actual intangibles lol.
@@gp1237 excuses
@@Zoobert321 That's fine we won a trophy that we never won before in our rich and successful history. Even while losing vs Tampa, it wasn't for nothing. We got the western conference trophy lol.
@@samplechannel2fiyd5idjfufjfud it’s because of their coach again but I mean ok bud you do you with your eliminated team
The evening of game seven and the following morning was honestly one of the greatest moments in my life, I work in Hamilton Ontario and the amount of leaf fans that brutally tortured me when Toronto was up, it just made it so sweet to come into work that day, there were guys that dodged me for months
That's why they haven't won a cup in so long. They're fans a just a bunch of shit birds and the most arrogant pieces of shit when they are winning and the hockey gods dont play that shit. I'm glad it worked out for you
I swear they are the sorest losers in the NHL fan base. 😂
@@arcticman1522 which they shouldn't be, considering they're so used to it by now

I watched Game 7 in a hotel room in New Orleans while on vacation. One of my favourite hockey memories ever.
Bestway to watch sports. No interruptions.
still lost
I knew, I absolutely *knew,* when the Leafs failed to close out the series in game 5, that they would lose in game 7. I have never been more sure of anything in my life.
Sure was a feeling in the air, wasn't it? I felt it too.
When I saw it go to a game 6 I knew the habs were going to win it all
i knew after they went up 3-1 they would lose in game 7 😂
i remember watching steve dangle’s stream as he watched this series, and he was so confident saying, “WHEN the maples leafs get to the next round”… little did he know lmao
The Habs scoring early and often in game 5 really got them back into it. They weren’t playing afraid and they made the leafs doubt themselves
That is not true😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@BerserkGuitarist you're a goof aren't you??
campbell let in 9 softies in 3 games to lose the series
@@MarkBTWOSRS funny thing is campbells stats were better than prices lmao
@@Nathanielhiggerson66 stats don’t show amount of softies let in. Campbell had the better team in front of him and still lost
Good times - miss seeing Weber, Toffoli and Perry in a Habs jersey. These runs really are one in a million.
Montreal staff played Webber and price while injured. Must have given them crazy meds to not feel that shit. This is the outcome of it…
@@killjoy77 Every players playing injured in the playoffs.
@@politicalbandwagon4989 sure thing, you can be brave play your hearts out in the playoffs, I agree with you. But, an Injury that can cause an end to a players career is a big gamble. Also playing them injured secretly is also a big ass gamble. This is the outcome and this is what have now.
@@killjoy77 It’s called heart. Maybe if the leafs had it they actually would have lived up to their potential.
@@politicalbandwagon4989 hahaha. I knew you’d bring up the leafs on this and touchy-feely. Go back and read the thread. It was emphasized about players not playing for the habs (currently). Not dissing the habs here just emphasizing what could’ve happened and what is now. So here ❤️ and a 🖤 for me to you.
One thing that brings together all hockey fans is hating the leafs
@Jeepman89 - that's why it is so fun!
This Habs playoff run was beyond insane. How is this not talked about more often???
We talk about it but with an asterisk because it was a massive fluke
how have the habs been doing ever since this year?
@@cadeno6155 i hope this isnt coming from a leafs fan
@@cadeno6155Another year without a championship parade on St-Catherine.
I will never tire of watching these highlights!
Galchenyuk randomly just so happening to be on the Leafs and making such a horrible mistake against his old team in a big big game makes this even more sad, it’s all just so sad. The hockey gods are truly merciless
Also Covid ruined what could have been an absolutely bonkers bell centre
I hate Galchenyuk. I'm glad he's off the leafs!
That's why he's not on the team anymore. Same for thornton and dermott.
@@BerserkGuitarist they punished him by sending him to Arizona
I Was wearing my habs Galchenyuk jersey that game, made that win so much sweeter lol
This never gets old - with Dangle way beyond being frustrated. Leafs just look so sad and pathetic you almost feel sorry for them. Almost.
Steve Dangle: who made this graphic?
Producer Drew: 😈😈😈😈😈
I totally forgot we lost 4-0, then the madness started!
It's hilarious that the Habs gave up their lead twice, only to win in overtime twice.............that's just trolling
I could watch this over and over again. I cant wait for another Leaf first round playoff exit again this year. Go Bruins.
Screw the bruins, that's one team that I pray NEVER wins anything again
@@fadilsahib6527 BRUINS OWN YOU
I'm a Habs fan so my Hatred for the Bruins run deep, but not as deep as the Leafs.
Go B's
@@19coyote5oh9 I have a respected hatred of your Habs, but an absolute despisment of the Leafs AND their "reality challenged" fans. They are the worst in all sports. Your Habs are rebuilding. Give it a few years, but you have a good young base.
As a leafs fan even i cant wait. Its comedic at this pojnt
This is one of my all time favourite videos. Thank you.
CP31 is a difference maker, and he certainly had a huge impact on the comeback and playoff run, hopefully he can make his own comeback and we see him back in games next season.
Man, i completely forgot how close it was.
Not just up 3-1 in games but 2! OT losses in game 5 & 6.. it's just Soo brutal how close they were
And that Matthews backhander stopped by the right pad of Price..
Brutal, idk how leafs fans do this to themselves.
Close doesn't mean shit. And the maple loafs always lose in a game 7.
this is amazing lol how can i team blow so many leads. The laughs succeeded once again by making me laugh. I love these guys
Did you watch the Panthers-Laughs game? xD
@@nothingmatters6026 No point the laughs are a lost cause. I watched them blow the 3 1 series lead to habs last playoffs and that sealed the deal for me

re-watching this makes me forget about the trash season we had this year.
@29 lol, you guys have been the dagger in the Leafs for like a decade lol.
Keep up the good work!
@29 We were just continuing the tradition since you guys weren’t in the same division lol.
As a Big Habs fan I called it from the start. No Weber, Price, Edmunson Byron was going to hurt and Hoffmann to replace our top scorers was doomed for failure
@@mikepiche4217 yup and habs fans trashing on KK after he had that OT winner in game 6 is just odd to me..
@@Nathanielhiggerson66 I disagree with you. When Tavares score the game winner against the Panthers for the Islanders and he is one of their best player since the 1990. But now, he is the most research guys in Long Island because how he act at the end. This was so much fun to watch. Thanks for the sweet memory refresher.
Can we get this years sequel? This video series is gonna be a nice thing for me to look forward to every year! Can’t wait for the 1st round 20 year anniversary video!
I am not a Leafs fan, but until their core of Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Reilly come through when it matters most they are going to continue to be the brunt of everyone's memes and jokes. At some point, they have to deliver. You can have all the accolades you want of scoring 50 goals in a season, but if you don't produce on the big stage, no one cares about all those accolades.
With a lot of time passed, I think differently on this. Yes, it's superficial to say "Matthews didn't score", but it's way more complicated than that.
The team was actually pretty poorly constructed for the playoffs. Thornton was washed up and not helpful - should have been scratched. Thornton made several mistakes that cost them goals. He's now gone, and he's playing even worse for Florida.
Simmonds was still recovering from his wrist, and let's face it, he's not the player he once was.
Dermott, Sandin and Galchenyuk were all prone to making mistakes that cost them games. 2 of the 3 are gone, and the last might not make the top 6.
Foligno was playing injured, and with Tavares out, they just didn't have many centers.
For all the blame Matthews and Marner got, Hyman didn't do anything either.
Scoring depth was pretty bad - Mikheyev was having an awful season, and the scoring was basically left to Nylander, Kerfoot, Spezza and Muzzin/Brodie.
Having said all of that, Toronto wasn't the only the team susceptible to having their top players shut down. Winnipeg and Vegas also got shut down by Danault's line - this is far from a Leafs problem. One could argue that playing Montreal was bad luck, as they probably would have performed much better against Edmonton and Winnipeg if that was their 1st round opponent. The modified trap and the style of players on Montreal's roster is honestly a pretty good foil for teams like Toronto. Montreal would have beat Tampa too if not for their insane amount of depth - notice it was Tampa's 3rd and 4th lines that came through for them, despite their top players being shut down.
Dubas learned a lot from this experience. The team now has 6 centerman and 8 NHL defensemen. The team also has a lot more scoring depth, just in case their top line gets shut down again. The team is much more resilient to injuries - they aren't forced to play rookies who have never played in the regular season anymore.
Sadly, Toronto is also very unlucky in that 3 of the best teams in that division also happen to be in the top 4 teams in the entire NHL. Shit luck. Despite a much better roster, they might actually lose the coin-flip anyway. If Toronto loses to the Stanley Cup champions in game 7 by 1 goal, is the narrative still going to be that they suck? If it is, it'll be pretty disingenuous despite how disappointing that would be.
@@Katie-hb8iq That’s last year. What’s the excuse for the years before?
@@idontgivea1769 poor goaltending against the Bruins (except 2013.. that was just a whole team collapsing), loss of Muzzin against Lumbus, the Tavares injury against Habs, as for Tampa?? I really don't know.
Matthews is like Gordon Ramsey in the regular season, come playoff time? He's subpar.. i said what i said.
@@stevenreid2571 11 months later, you're right.
Matthews isn't in McDavid/Mckinnon/Drai's league when it comes to clutch time

The fact this got recommended to me again just days before the playoffs start is a sign.
Welp
One of the most enjoyable moments in NHL history!
I remember this shit two years later. As a Leaf fan, I’ll admit, game 6 was the worst, I was beyond livid. Game 7 I literally didn’t watch, I played FF7 Remake in my basement instead while the rest of my family watched upstairs, I knew they would fuck it up. It really is disheartening that 2/3 franchises I cheer for are laughingstocks everyone laughs at. At least I have you, 2019 Raptors.
What a delightful video. I think I'll watch it again.
It was complete lockdown in the province of Quebec at he moment, this bring a lot of joy in quebecers life at that time. It was a dark moment but this series win gave us something to celebrate. And in a weird way I will be forever grateful for that.
No matter how bad my day is... I can come home n watch Leafs playoff replays. :D All is better.
One of the greatest moments in NHL history!
Leafs collapsed harder than the Ottoman Empire 💀💀💀💀
Still makes me smile 2 years later....
Habs fans have all the right to smile, this kick started the finals run of a lifetime. Even if the team isn’t amazing now, they can forever look back on 2021 with pride.

What's funny is that we can all watch them do it again this year😄😄😄

lmao @ Steve Dangle's trauma.
I feel you, buddy. I was a Senators fan from 1992 to 2018...it only lasted five or six years, but I still remember the pain of first round curses.
All that waiting will just make it THAT much more glorious when they finally break through.
Not the first time this has happened to the Leafs, that said key saves and big bodies on the Habs took the series.... don't underestimate what Weber, Edmunson, Staal, Perry, Chariot and Armia bring..over 6'4" and 240lbs on average each will wear a team down in the corners and in front of the net.
Today the Habs lost 99% of those players and the Leafs aren't really any bigger or tougher, so good luck.
Golf leafs golf
The algorithm has started recommending my leafs choking through the years compilations. ill gladly sell my data for more of these.
Thing of beauty!
Still brings a smile to my face
That's why I don't always worry about the Maple Leafs record so much because I always know that they always have a problem wining in the first round of the playoffs and it happens every year.
Can’t wait for the 2022 version
Even tho we won’t be in the Playoffs
Absolutely love to see it
When I'm sad, I watch this video to cheer myself up. GoHabsGo
Those faces at the end are priceless.

I love how I got recommended this almost a year later. And the Leafs do it again… choking in the first round.
A lot of people forget about the Ilya Mikheyev missed chance in Game 5’s dieing seconds of the 3rd, that could’ve prevented so much
The Habs making the finals was just them giving the entire NHL community a giant middle finger since everyone thought the Habs are gonna get swept but they proved them wrong
Perry really was a beast
As a bruins fan, who hates Montreal…we may have our rivalry and competitive hatred toward each other, but we must band together in unity come playoffs and continue the misery of our greatest enemy…the Toronto Maple Leafs. So I thank the Montreal Canadiens for handing this glorious spanking to the maple leafs on national tv 🤣
😂 this was amazing
Sorry Leafs, there's still more than 6 teams in the NHL.
and now im crying.
It's sad not being able to see price play this year.
8:25 how fitting that they are playing "till i collapse" during leafs game 7.
Lmao no kidding. They should’ve fired their DJ after that
as the leafs move toward the playoffs they would benefit by recognizing that salming was the best hockey player the leafs have had since keon
you want to win then play like salming
Smiling the entire time
Cheers from the 2022 playoffs, when the Leafs shat the bed in series 1, game 7, again.
As a Blackhawks fan, I cannot think but laugh at the Maple Leafs, because they blew a 3-1 lead. Because they always do. The last time Toronto made it past the 1st Round was 2004.
