He left clueless because he smiled as I said I know what it’s really about , he gave the your crazy look with a smile. I said God bless you and he did the same. He was 7 th degree said he wasn’t going any higher.
Tom Cruise’s best friend is Miscavage because the only famous male who is shorter than he. Cruise has totally lost his mind. Ever since he left Nicole Kidman in the cruel way he did, I haven’t watched anything he is in and Inever will again. I don’t care how good an actor is, once they show their true colors, I can’t watch them anymore. In Nicole’s case, he ended up doing her a huge favor since she is now married to Keith Urban who obviously loves her as much as she loves him.

Andrew, You are a very moderate journalist, able to stay in the middle and look at both sides of a situation. I think if we’re going to get through these crazy times we need to all think clearly and not react so quickly. There are very few journalists I trust, they have been bought and paid for by the system. Stay the course, you’re doing a fabulous job. I’m glad for an outlet I can go to for truth and levelheaded thinking. Does this mean I agree 100% with you, NO but I do value your insight and intelligence.

I remember reading an article written by a dog trainer, who was deploring the fact that dog owners wanted to see their dogs as equals, either as friends or family members. She explained that dogs were hierarchical animals who couldn’t comprehend democracy. She said that dog owners had to address their dog’s need to know their place. I have heard people say this about parenting, more due to the incapacity of children to use adult decision making and self-control.
I have come to the conclusion that there are adults who simply can’t understand non-hierarchical situations and societies. There are definitely some cult (and church) members who feel peace from having their inferiority firmly established. It just seems to allow for so much exploitation and abuse.
It seems to me a lot of ex-scientologists were in because they really want to help people. When they find out that it isn't what they thought they get out and help themselves by helping others. It is so refreshing and all of the organizations that are helping people get out of cults are real heroes. Thanks, Andrew for showing us how people are helping, and in this way you help as well.

Got a new sub due to this specific interview. I am a long time Scientologist/ex-Scientologist who just isn't much interested in hearing anything about the cult anymore. This interview is uniquely different and particularly refreshing.
Why hasn't any Government official stepped in. There is testimony after testimony, and proof. Are they too busy going after Soccer Moms still?
The USA is very much influenced by Protestant Fundamentalism. Those churches are not happy with interference with any religion, since they figure they might be next. So USA law enforcement treads very lightly there. The investigation and crackdown on the Catholic Church following the revelation of child abuse is really only possible because the Church has a lot of leaders who are very glad the crackdown is happening. Also, at bottom, American Fundamentalism hates the Catholic Church.

Great interview! I was introduced to Sterling Tompkins via Aaron Smith-Levin's (Growing Up In Scientology) channel. While Andrew Gold is a proficient interviewer, talking with Sterling Tompkins enhances that factor. Mr. Tompkins is intelligent, articulate and seems to have charisma so strong that it emanates through my very very very old monitor. Would love to see a followup interview with him on this channel.

Hi Andrew once again terrific interview because of you I am now subscribed to Aaron ,Teese and Sterling so thank you for educating me on scientology it sickens me to think about the abuse of children especially and I"ve never like Tom Cruise for the way he treated Nicole Kidman Im an Australian and it never made sense to me that he would marry her as her father was a very accomplished psychologist which of course scientology hates so like I said never made sense he is disgusting abusive person.

What I find interesting, is Sterling sounds like Aaron Smith Levin a bit. They have very similar inflections and cadence. Both are well spoken and man do they sound similar!
Scientology's Auditing sessions sound like a childish kindergarten setting with kids dobbing ( Reporting) on each other .Also it sounds a bit like the Catholics version of confession, but this version records ut all and keeps it all forever. Over all I think Hypocrisy seems to be the key word for so many of the stories we hear about the way they treat individuals.
'dobbing' - Date Of Birth, DOB. Not "reporting". Relates to Police being tipped off of identification of an individual, but also relates to the "informant" on your Birth Certificate, usually your mother, who registers you to be owned by the state. They dobbed me in!
Hence why a report is nothing if you can't the person, which is the dob or dobbing in per se.

While I agree with Sterling that we need to move on after the AF debacle, and The Headleys and Mike Rinder help people, they have yet to recognize that they spoke condescendingly to the viewers and called many of us "keyboard warriors", much less apologize for it. I didn't choose sides. They chose it for me. That doesn't mean I took anything personally. It means my peace is more important that subscribing to or watching their channels.

Great interview! As a never-in, I disagree that the foundation's action against Aaron was a mistake. Mistakes aren't jointly planned, jointly executed actions. To me, the four acted the same as when they were in, and they outright lied to their followers by selectively publishing bits of info purposely designed to embarass him. I've heard about similar actions by OSA described in detail by many ex-scientologists, including the four of them! I am angry that they may have harmed the foundation. I was subscribed to their channels, but now, I really have no interest in anything they have to say.
What did they do? Where do you find more information about this? Aaron is so likable...but I'd like to know what happened.

My observations may be off because I've never been in a cult. It seems to me like there's bad and good people in every large group of people across the board. If a leader is a bad person then chooses two people as his helpers. One helper is bad by nature and enjoys lording over the group. This bad helper likes the power and control he has over the group therefore he invents new ways to make life hard on the group. The good helper does as she is told. The good helper carries out her orders hoping everyone does as they are told because she doesn't enjoy seeing people punished. The good helper may make life hard on the group because in the end she's saving the group from later harm. I think the bad helper could be someone like Tom Cruise and the good helper could be someone like Shelly Miscavige.
