I've heard some stuff but it's really pales in comparison. theres something to be said for getting to influenced by a particular sound/style, but not looking into the history inspired those movements originally that leads to stuff feeling like a pale imitation, even if they're using the same synths. The only acts I heard that came close were Ford and Lopatin and Destroyer but I'm so old now and not up to date.

This amazing AOR track wasn't a hit which still amazes me! It was written by Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins and both recorded the song back in '85 on their respective solo releases although only Michael released it as a single! Michael also had the amazing Steve Lukather perform guitar on the track and you can hear the guitar playing on this track as only can play like this! Michael Mc Donald had Ted Templeman produce the album and Jeff Porcaro, Steve Lukather's Toto's drummer, performed on the song as well! The song did manage a respectable climb to #34 on the HOT 100 though!
Is Lukather confirmed playing on this? It sounds completely like Lukather, but according to the album liner notes - it credits David Pack as the only Guitarist on this song. Steve is credited on the song 'Our Love' from this same album.
