      It will see track time eventually, but not yet. This car is my baby, and it took 2.5 years to complete. • @BuildingWithSean
      @BuildingWithSean  Před 3 měsíci

      To be honest it’s pretty shaky. I’ve done a couple things for the swap to reduce the NVH such as the ATI Superdamper, but with any engine swap you’re going to reduce the comfortability of the car. The CD009 transmission swap is also contributing to that. Really it’s not all that bad, but it’s certainly more than stock.

    How much psi boost was the fa20 running when it blew? I was aiming for 260hp on gas and 290-300hp on e85 to keep it “safe” but now I’m having second thoughts lol

    • @BuildingWithSean
      @BuildingWithSean  Před 2 měsíci +1

      It was making 8psi and around 250hp at the wheels. I’m pretty sure the oil pressure dropped and that’s what caused it to spin a bearing. So make sure to run a thicker oil if you go turbo. Something like 10W-30 or 10W-40, and you should be fine. E85 will help keep the engine healthy if you have access to it.

    • @BuildingWithSean
      @BuildingWithSean  Před 2 měsíci

      It was a “Low-Mile” JDM engine that I got from an importer. Estimated 50,000ish miles. The K24 can handle 450-500 hp pretty easily, so for my goals I didn’t feel the need to go fully built internals. If the goal was 600+ I definitely would.

    • @BuildingWithSean
      @BuildingWithSean  Před 2 měsíci +4

      If you swap a naturally aspirated K24 and use the stock transmission, it can be done for around $14k-$15k. Mine is turbo, uses a CD transmission out of a 350Z/G35, and a lot of other aftermarket parts, so if you wanted to replicate the build it would be closer to $25k. I’m about to put out a full video explaining how much the whole swap cost, so stick around for that.

    Subaru needs to get away from the boxer platform. I understand it's their thing and I've loved many of their vehicles, but they're just ass compared to other Japanese engines, particularly Honda and Toyota. K24 was absolutely the best choice too, I love those engines. I had an all motor K24 that dyno'd around 250HP, my next one will be turbo, but the NA was so fun and responsive.
