This video has completely changed my form. I just came back from a run and my legs would usually be screaming for help, but just by listening what she had to say and implementing it into my run just made it so effortless. Hands down one of the most enjoyable runs I've had and I can say with 100% certainty that what she says is worthwhile.
Go follow an actual running channel and not a body builder maybe..jc
You don't really fix form...you fix mechanics which results in a more efficient form for you. When people get stuck on the word "form" they can start falling into bad traps like "I need to have a form like runner X". When you focus on the mechanics...YOUR CORRECT FORM will naturally present itself.
So i didn't understand about the hamstring and mechanics, or the late heel. What did u focus on?
czcams.com/video/gtsj5TWTSjk/video.html you’ll love this
Where are they talking about form i missed that i think?!
The teacher is amazing. She form champions.
Very very helpful tips for improving my running... I've always had a hard time running and at times suffered from Shin splints 🤦🏾♂️ but now that I know how avoid it, I'm actually looking forward to jogging instead of dreading it 😁
@@maverickl.4814 I tried everything for my shin splints that lasted 1.5 years, not sure how you strike but going from a forefoot to a heel strike cured my shin splints completely
@@louismontano1918 it's not really the heel strike itself but you overstriding

She’s a fucking idiot when it comes to cycling she has no idea what she’s talkin bout
"Don't drop the CEO" lol
She sounds like a great coach with a lot of valuable information! I come from a family of Olympians and there are a few short bullet-pointers to keep in mind:
1. Run loose. Most of us tend to tighten our upper-body (chest) as we run which you do not want to do! Stretch, and "shake" around to help loosen yourself up both mentally and physically.
2. Kick when you run. Watch Olympians do this. They will have a long stride, bending their legs at the knee almost "punching" their butt with their heels.
3. Breathe. Exercise your lungs, let your bottom jaw hang loose, and allow yourself to take in oxygen. Sounds funny but a lot of folks have a tendency to clench their jaw and restrict otherwise normal or healthy breathing
Heel-raise is a biproduct of more falling, which equals more speed since more gravity’s used. Cadence will also increase to keep up w the fall angle so we don’t faceplant. If you pull more than required it’s simply wasted effort
Yes, I agree. She doesn't seem to be adding anything to what a real running coach would tell a person. But on a similar note, you make some very good points and highlight basics which many people don't practice or soon forget.
1. I remember in my earlier days I would try so hard to run faster. And when I say 'try', I mean I'd tense up and try to physically make myself run faster. Not only did I not run faster, I was bloody exhausted at the end of my run (i.e. 7km). It was only when I did the exact opposite, completely relaxed every ounce of my body, every muscle, did I then start seeing massive improvements. Even now, I remind myself during a run to relax and shake out my hands, monitor if my shoulders are getting tight, etc. Now, it's literally like I'm in a state of 'zen' when I'm running.
2. A few years ago I went from focusing on my cadence (not such a bad thing) to focusing on a longer stride length. Personally, I started with my arm swing. Before I had a lower arm swing, whereas now I adopted a higher arm swing (like the elite endurance runners). This automatically translated to a greater forward lean and higher back kick and, faster times. Even now when I feel like I'm tired or not running fast, I end up running way faster than my previous times simply by virtue of a longer stride length.
3. Yes, "let your bottom jaw hang loose". Such good advice. So many times I hear about 'nose breathing' or people running with a tight jaw. It's all associated with relaxing. Open your mouth, relax the jaw, suck in the oxygen (train yourself to belly breathe and with a correct rhythm).
Great tips
@@thepsychologist8159 hey so do you like breathe in your nose and out your nose or like do u breathe out in your mouth and breathe in your nose how does that work
@@vandaloek0110 Unless I'm doing an 'easy' run, when I do occasionally focus on breathing in through my nose and out of my mouth (but not for the whole run), at all other times I breath in and out of the mouth.
This is by far the best series on CZcams! Inspirational. Love how you don’t just try to better yourself but also everyone around you!
As someone trying to go into spec ops this entire journey has helped me with running correctly, swimming correctly, and my body building split. I thank you!
Nick. Watching you put in work every single day, man... I’m telling you, this is infectious and running has become something I want to get better at.
This guy is a inspiration, Who else thinks Nick can go sub 3 hours??
He inspired me to create my own content on CZcams and now I try to inspire people like he does❤️
He did 🎉
I'm recovering from a few serious injuries and your videos always help me to get through my annoying rehab programme. Thanks for the motivation 🙏🏼💪🏼

Loving this series! Keeping me motivated for my goals
Thank you for sharing this with the community, I think everyone learned a thing or two today.
I really look forward to each and every video the team puts out. Love you guys on the BPN team and all the quality videos you all put out!
What I am amazed is how Nick adapts to learning new things even though he's been fit for a long time, during the military and before this. Hooah! Greetings from the Philippine Army, Sir!
hows the army going?
Thanks for sharing this. Just got back from a 3 mile run after watching this and implementing the knowledge given…definitely feel the difference
I'm running my first marathon tomorrow and this video is what i needed so bad, I have been so lost over my form, the more i try to correct it the harder it seemed to get, thank you so much for this, much love from Australia
Bro, changing running for the night before the marathon lmao! I need a follow up on how the marathon went???

I enjoy this guys out put and videos, from a former athlete and guy who just trains, I find it helpful but also motivating to keep elevating my health, which I love and always been another. Thanks Nick Bare. 👏🙏
Thank you so much for this. This has helped immensely. 😊 I've been running for a year and a half now and had trouble understanding why my ankles were not really moving until I did some full sprinting. I was following the instructor and started hopping. Oh my gosh, my ankles are weak! I really think this will help strengthen my ankles more than anything else I've found on the internet. So fundamental! Thanks again! ✌
One thing she never goes over I found interesting is how the foot actually does make contact with the ground and the way the structure is made & how the movement needs to be made. She's a badass and I learned so much!! Thankyou for this.
Great edition of the IM prep s2 series! Legitly valueable hints and tips!
Wow! I love all the episodes, but this one was unique :) So much great information and for me as a coach, it was so inspiring! Thank you for this!!!
I went 8 years without running (still did cardio, just not running), using “I get shin splints” as an excuse. Watching you made me get back into it and start learning more about proper form and training programs to increase mileage. Thanks for the videos. Love your channel
Best form video ive ever seen. Explaining forward lean and foot strike travel !!
Makes me so happy when I get the notification for a new video, keep it up Nick.
Solid episode. The run coaching was brilliant. Try circular tension on the pedal. Everything in this sport is about joint circles and your ability to create force efficiently.
Brill video. Quality of your vids and content has improved so much Nick ... real credit .
Your level of dedication is amazing
Game changing advice. Implemented the hamstring advice today and keeping below the knee lose. Felt like a different runner
That trainer is very competent and informed. Much raspect to her and the Bare team.!
This is the guidance I had been looking over for since past couple of years
Ironically today is run day for me! Keep up the great work nick. I’m planning on running a half a marathon eventually 💕
How much did you run today?
That’s huge!! Best of luck on your half!
@@DrAdamHotchkiss Thank you ☺️

@@Morfeusm so I’m on week 7, day one. I’ve been running 3 times a week. Today I ran 2.5 miles at an average pace of 6:54.

Her exercises look very intuitive! Will try it today!
Thanks for posting this video 👍🏻
Cant believe this high quality information is free. thanks nick
Anyone else here for pre-long-run motivation? Got 8miles on the schedule today in prep for a half
Was literally thinking last week how I wish you did a video on running form! Crazy
Ok, now we need to see the "Moon Walk Recovery Runs" next episode 🕺
Great information Nick/BPN. Really appreciate the video.
Sunday morning coffee and iron man prep. Got to love it.
Your a beast Nick I’m so excited to see how great your going to do in your marathon!
Flip turns are fun and once you learn them you don’t really forget them 👍🏿
From my experience Ive been an athlete playing football my entire life up to the professional ranks and about 2 years ago I picked up running and really enjoy it. I’ve tried multiple techniques to run even consulting mg buddies who are avid runners and they told me to find a technique that’s comfortable on my body. But more importantly work on my breathing. After finally learning how to properly breathe through belly and not my chest I’ve been able to run a marathon at 265 pounds.
great episode, great series. she was very insightful
I like the cadence tips she had and the incline progression to build it, good shit Nick!
Great coaching. Thanks for making these!
Solid video Nick been struggling with running technique and this was really useful 👌
Wow super interesting video! Full of great tips I’ll definitely apply! Thanks Nick!

Love these long ones!
I used to hate Sundays, now I look forward to them
Thank you for the running tips definitely going to apply that to my first marathon!
This was insanely useful! Thanks so much for sharing this :)
Thx for sharing the journey! (from the Netherlands)
I love the coaching tips on running, what I've always noticed about long distance sprinters and endurance runners, there are super long distance runners who such a beautiful stride, but it not smashing the ground when they run compared to sprinters who force themselves of the ground. Im not a runner, I hate running, but when it comes to a jog Im all good, but my friends who are use to running always say relax, stop mutten running (smashing the ground). So this video clip is very help full.
Great information, thank you for sharing!
Just by looking at first 5min of this video I lost 2litres of sweat.
Hahaha
😅😅
Ok
Shoutout to Coach Natasha! I like her attitide!
This was a great one, good info, thanks
As always, great video quality
One of my favorite Bare videos
LOVE the flipturn effort; a hard skill to learn as an adult!
This came out at the perfect time!
Love it been doing that treadmill workout for a bit now and loving it
Vals awesome! I watch her Instagram videos all the time! She’s helped a lot with my running
love this video man
Love the series. Great info
Agreed
Best video so far. Very helpful.
Definitely a good one!
Merry Christmas everyone!🎄
I learnt so much from this video, thanks so much, Nick.....
Excellent coach! Those are the best techniques for long distance running. Elasticity of ankles and calves, bouncing on your feet, free falling while running, increase cadence without over striking? The irony is that you naturally do all of these when you run in minimalist shoes or go barefoot. You will need a coach like her if you're going to run in thick cushioned shoes with elevated heels.
your videos got me into tri and bro your running style is damn good
Love the traning..1st or finisher..still your the CHAMP despite of your training decipline, passion, dedication and hardwork, stay safe sir..Godbless you and to your team.
I love this channel!
This was very helpful advice. I ran a 10km and got a PB! Thanks for that! 👍🏿
holy.. i got goosebumps when this man said “We are creating our own marathon” LFG
These are quality!!
Someone get this man a sweatband...or three!!! Solid effort, keep up the great work!!
Nicks videos have inspired me to do a triathlon next year, I’ve already started training and I’m doing pretty well.
Badass man, never quit, you'll get there
@@shanedude91 thanks I’ll update how my progress is going
Good luck my guy
@@TTB0209 thank you so much
Good luck dude don’t quit
Great video. Can’t wait to get off work and go run!
The shin splint is also due to a lot of ankle immobility and not understanding how the foot and toes spread! The angle is a circular motion rather than forward and backward motions!
natasha is awesome, calm and assured. nick is a beast as always. both champs!
I ran full marathon after following nick bare.
Love your videos!
Thank you for sharing!🤗
Almost done with OSUT and I still haven’t stopped watching your videos every chance I get. Always great content here sgt
