    This has been a fantastic series. This is about where I'm at now, but not as high of an income. My industry is so out of balance! Looking forward to the next video cause I'm still building the Worlds Fair and no idea what to expect or what it does. Haven't even considered the Palace yet.

    There are a number of reasons why you would want large storage. Having a storage island in new world close to other regions allows for a much more efficient and speedy way to service these regions. Another reason would be very large supplies requiring more than two large capacity ships. Again, having a large storage island in old world close to new world buying timber from docklands that need to service several cargo ships/8 bay air ships that will inevitably show up at the same time trying to pick up 300/400 tons each -- the new world requires large amounts of timber and using space for timber is not very effective/efficient.

    Question is, if you ban a consumption for a certain workforce, will you still get the negative newspaper article about them not having those goods? And what about if you ban the consumption when you don't have any supply of those goods?
    For example, I have a small island who's workforce population is at a desired level, I don't need more of that workforce so I don't want to waste production/maintenance to provide them with that goods for more population, will I still get the negative newspaper article?

    There is a Legendary that gives you 100% cargo slowdown. I found it on rescue missions for the expeditions or comes to your island via the public moorings.

      Legendary specialist are not reliable to get unless you have the research institute. The jet propeller hurricane can be crafted easily at Nate's Harbor as soon as you get there and have the coin to start buying what you need.

      @@TakaCZcams good point. I did not consider the probability of actually getting the items. What's your take on creating import/export hubs near the border of the maps to "free" ships on the cross-map goods transportation and having "local" ships to distribute the goods where needed. Especially at crownfalls ships coming from the new world or Embessa have to pass the whole map with heavy load which add a couple of minutes to their roundtrip time. This way also slots on ships might be utilized more benefitial IMO

    • @TakaYouTube
      @TakaYouTube  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah it's a viable strat for sure... I prefer just decreasing loading times significantly and counter the length of the trip. But you can totally do a hub island on the edge and use Reefers or GEs to get between regions and then cargo ships, extravaganzas, or GEs for within the region to move the goods.

  • @TRG29338
    @TRG29338 Před 2 lety +1

    Just went through all of these videos. I had been trying to estimate production and demand by stock in warehouses going up or down lol. I think I'm going to restart entirely because now that I know how to use the stat screens it's clear that I'm all over the place. Maybe I'll do the story mode now that I know how to play the game. Is there any downside to that vs sandbox mode?
    And do you check each of your trade ship's inventories occasionally? Even with dump goods enabled they seem to eventually get messed up for me on routes where goods are being loaded both ways.
    One last thing: can the AI start claiming islands on maps that you haven't been to yet or do they wait for you to discover them?

    • @TakaYouTube
      @TakaYouTube  Před 2 lety +1

      The campaign is just a basic tutorial that goes through the artisan phase... Other than that it's just a sandbox.
      Sometimes I look at the inventories of my cargo ships but I've never had any issue where they fill up after they dump cargo... Make sure you do have it selected. When it dumps the cargo it literally clears out the entire cargo storage. There should never be any reason for it to not work.
      Look on my tips and guides playlist in the description and there is a video about AI expansion.

    I stumbled upon a "trick" for Enbesa. I went there early.(for pocket watches of course) I chose "no" and clicked I am sure I do NOT want to run his story. He presents me with a clipper, full of goods to establish an island. I chose to send the clipper to the south side of Taborime. I chose the ships location, then left to do work in the old world. Time passed... Then I get a message from Ol' Ketema...."you seem stuck. Don't worry I will provide the material for you to keep progressing." At this point, I click back to Enbesa, establish "south Enbesa" then sent ship to Ketema's lighthouse. He reloads it with a whole new shipment of building supplies. And I have TWO Islands for free, before any CPU comes to the region.
    If this is old news, please disregard. But If not, I thought I would share.

    • @dougakes399
      @dougakes399 Před 2 lety

      I did not test this theory, but it may be possible to use this method in the other regions, Mrs. Sarmento presents a ship of goods.(etc.)

    • @TakaYouTube
      @TakaYouTube  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes you can do this however it takes a very long time for him to offer you the second clipper. By the time he finally offers you the second one you could already be at several hundred elders quickly and producing your own mud bricks. I tested around with it a little bit and it's just not worth waiting. I don't know if Isabel has the same mechanic but I'm probably sure it's going to be the same situation. Plus it's not as valuable in the new world since it just takes steel beans and timber to settle a new island and you can quickly bring that over from the old world.

    When I'm building up Crown Falls, I get an item after building the Worlds Fair that cuts coffee demand by half. Is that item exclusive to the CF questline? I don't remember seeing it when I complete a worlds faire in the old world

    • @TakaYouTube
      @TakaYouTube  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes it is exclusive and you can only have 1 of them. There is a craftable item in the Arctic that reduces coffee consumption as well though.

    i have been wondering for a while now - everyone seems to be using single ships for single resources (e.g. getting rum from NW to OW).... i keep using shared routes, for cargo ships its 6 differing resources, but use 3-4 ships each route and imho it feels really reliable to use, cause i frequently get the resources in.
    is this the wrong way to do it, or another "you can do it X ways" and people just dont really do it much? my thoughts are getting the frequent shipments keeps it more steady in getting delivered, but i always wonder why i cant find it being done in any videos.....

    • @TakaYouTube
      @TakaYouTube  Před 2 lety

      As long as the amount delivered from one or more cargo ships is equivalent to the amount consumed within the travel time of the trade route then it really doesn't matter how you set it up. What you're doing is not bad for smaller populations, but you could be getting away with fewer cargo ships.

    • @happalula
