This patient will have his lower eyelids lifted to have his eyes more almond shaped.
Almond eye surgery is performed under local anesthesia in our office. It is important for the patient to be able to open his/her eyes during surgery to achieve the best outcome. As with most eyelid procedures, the patient goes home after surgery and is expected to have bruising/swelling for 7-10 days.

How much does this procedure cost? This has already been asked but the surgeon always says '' it's different for everyone '', I'd like to know what the average price is. I don't think it's 100k for someone and 2k for someone else, there should be an average price.

Does aging reverse it ? Means that tightening muscle to back to before ?
I went to go see an Ocolufacial plastic surgeon in my area ( small/medium city ). He said that in his opinion, my success rate would be 75% to notice an improvement, because my eyes differ about 2MM when looked head on. He did say that one eye seems to have better muscle tension than the other, he did notice a bigger difference in the droop when i tilted my head down and looked up.
To me it seemed like he thought i looked " fine ". My eyes look almost identical to the guys in the video, about the same amount of droop. The eye with Ptosis. My eyes are not even on the bottom lids either, one seems to have more " White " part of the eye showing than the other.
I Don't feel like he examined me thoroughly. I am going to go see 2 more Ocolofacial plastic surgeons for their opinion, because it's almost like this doctor was sort of not very encouraging to having the surgery, and said if anything maybe a "blephoroplasty" . That does not make sense because i do have Ptosis and its more noticeable when i look head on an relax my eyes or look in certain angles.
What sort of questions should i ask my in my next consultation? I'd like to also get "almond" eyes plus Ptosis repair so that my eyes look more even. My ayes are nearly identical to this patients in your video.
I also mentioned lifting my lower lid so that less white shows and he said " That is usually just for people with disease that have LOTS of droop " It's almost like he was not hearing what i wanted and didn't give me information of whether this would improve my eyes symmetry or not. I am in my 20's and maybe he does not have lots of experience with young people wanting corrective surgery? I don't know.

The results look beautiful! I'm sure the guy loved the way he looks.
However lateral canthoplasty is usually performed on older patients with a more serious, functional eye issue not an aesthetic one. Basically, it is too dangerous to perform on eyes just for beautification purposes.
I've read many times that lateral canthoplasty can have serious complications. I need to do more research to figure out what, but basically many surgeons recommend that you shouldn't do the "almond eyes" (lateral canthoplasty) for just beauty purposes.
I think the ptosis fixing aspect was safer but not the lateral canthoplasty aspect.

Are there scars? and would there be a restriction of the amount of expression one can do (say if i'm trying to look extremely surprised or scared) after surgery? I'm wondering because I'm an aspiring actor.

hello doctor I have undergone a blepharoplasty one year ago and as a result of removing a little more fat from the right under eye one, that lower eyelid descended a little. no scleral show but definitely a droopy eye. So now my eyes have no bags but are uneven. Can a canthopexy fix this problem? I'm afraid of causing even more uneven eyes. thankyou doctor.

It is usually under local anesthesia with IV sedation. Recovery process is typically bruising/swelling for 2 weeks but full healing 3 months.

Isn't the 'almond eye surgery' lateral canthoplasty too risky with too much risk of complications to justify performing it for purely aesthetic reasons?
I want it done as I have minor scleral show but it depends on the risks associated.

Hello Doctor Taban. I am a latino male 47 yo, I used to have a very sexy slanted looking asian eyes when young, but now because of age, my eyes are very droopy, they lost that very sexy asian looking, much even worse as your patient in this video, my eyes at the bottom they look so horrible you can see the whole white all over down the eye, and makes me feel unconfortable, my family and friends are always telling me if i am tired or sleepy. Also the top of my eyes they lok very puffy (swollen), don't know if that's fat or what it may be. My question is.
