I dont know about you, but i like the look of the body and the lack of the wing on the OG DBXL. The OG is probably also faster with the 29 you put in it, at least till top end when you need the power. The stock 32cc probably is only as quick as your custom 29cc at top end. Once the 32 gets a pipe, it will give it more pep. The 29 will hit higher RPMs faster than the 32 because of the rotational mass of the internal parts. I havent looked up the spec sheets of the new vs the old as far as what they weigh. Another reason i like the OG DBXL is because you could fit a velocity stack on the carb and put a ball filter on it and get unresticted airflow. Wont be able to do that without cutting the body on the new one. I see they do still use the OG cage for the new one, just the body covers where the air filter would go. I really wanted the DBXL V1 and build it how i see fit, but since its discontinued, guess ill be getting the new one and changing the body, removing the wing, and fitting up a velocity stack. I currently dont own a DBXL but i do own a 5ive T. Ive been wanting the DBXL for a long time, but its been on backorder for almost 2 years, then became discontinued and the new one came out. Its nice to see the changes with the new one with the inclusion of the 32cc, but i just like the OG K&N to much to want to keep the new body on it.
I just purchased the original Losi Dbxl XL in excellent condition. The bottom of the chassis barely has any scratches and the body looks amazing no cracks at all. I'm going to invest eventually this is my 1st 1/5th I have the Losi Lasernut tanacity U4 it's big for a 1/10 but not as big as the Dbxl. Thank you for the side by side comparison your K&N looks great 👍 I can see some of your upgrades and why you made them. I looked into this model despite hearing some negative reviews. I prefer to learn on my own and not to pay to much attention to negative reviews I'll do the upgrades along the way. Enjoyed the vid thx 👍
I have few vids on my channel of the pipe i used and how I made it work I originally ordered the losi tuned pipe cause I didn’t want to drill into chassis but it didn’t fit so I went with the Dominator pipe from DDM

Yea I love the OG and that thing rips gets off the line real quick that was my first 1/5 scale
