  • Apple Brand Strategy | Branding Case Study [Part 1]
In 1996 on the verge of bankruptcy with dwindling market share and a lackluster brand strategy that was confused about its place in the market.
Apple brought back Steve Jobs after 10 years away from the company and this is when the Apple we know today started to take shape.
In this 2 part video series, I take a look at the Apple brand strategy and how changing how the brand was perceived skyrocketed the company to one of the biggest in the world.

I'll be honest when I say that I've never really been a huge fan of Apple. I'm 100% a PC girl. That said, the way they have positioned themselves is something that is hard to argue with. I love the way they tap into the psychology of their audience. Especially the way they weave social identity into the way they market themselves. I can't think of any other brand that does that so well.

I wish Microsoft had enough humility to learn from others. I love Word and PC but their refusal to engage users and keep so much of their efforts in increasing the stockholder wealth they may find themselves extinct. Microsoft can do both if they would choose to.

So what’s the next tech brand that’s beating apple? Will need to be aesthetically better, offers more security coverage, lighter, more battery power, elusive… multiple cloud storages…. USB drive for smaller pen drives with big capacity….automatic saving of information to cloud if system fails

These are all great features that someone could utilise but brands are more than features. The issue Apple have is they were once the Rebel challenging the status quo and now they are the status quo which puts them in a position to be challenged by a new brand that is clever with their branding and marketing

@@ElementsBrandManagement From tech perspective I can think of the technical and functional aptitudes of the design… improve the current one…people get bored of the “usual”. That’s innovation right there….maybe understand what the consumer is really looking for and implement it with a little touche of extra that other laptops don’t have….it depends what the brand objective is….is it originality and quality or is it bigger sales? or would that be both?

DON’T put your personal bank card on your iPhone, outside of that Apple is pretty solid.
