    Long long ago, there were a man who try to make his skill ultimate. Because of his bloody life, it's no accident that he was involved in the troubles.

    This video was outstanding both as a breakdown of the collection, but also as a history of the IP. The part at the end where you describe how the franchise seems to be made to your preferences perfectly describes me as well.

    Insanely epic video man!!! I am absolutely astonished this doesn't have more views and especially more comments! Most people talking about any given game in a review will seldom explore such interesting facets, let alone the personal touch that makes it a great chat. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this from start to finish and even considered rewatching again but I think I'll save that for tomorrow. I''ve had this collection on Switch for some years now but never jumped in. I think at the time I was close to dipping into fighting games but then held off. As of the last week, I've definitely been leaning into brawlers and can see myself starting some fighting games like this too. I've never really been interested in things like Street Fighter but this collection originally caught my eye. With what you've expressed, it's no surprise because I'm after that slower-paced, careful calculation experience and these look absolutely grand! Thanks for an awesome video!

      Appreciate your comment…I put a ton of time into this one and I’m glad it shows. Cheers!

    I think I prefer 5 Special to 2, but the entire series is criminally underrated. Great video!

    When I say 'Samurai Shodown 5 is the last to hit the NeoGeo', I meant the last main series numbered installment. 5 Special (obviously) also hits the same hardware if you watch for another minute, I just worded it kind of weird and I'm only realizing now as I rewatch.

    SamSho will always be a special game to me. It really brings me back to being 8 years old, and watching that "big red" machine playing the attract screen. I'd watch it for what felt like hours! At that time I didn't even know what this weird, language that was being spoken in the intro was, haha! It never felt the same on the Sega of SNES. Fast forward 28 years later and I finally have my own AES and own the first 4 games. You're very right about 1 and 2 getting it right; It really felt like they could never ever do it any better after those two games.
    Even the more refined "Perfect" which is played a lot in tournaments now really doesn't hit the same way. Perhaps it's a bit of fatigue of looking at the same sprites from 95, albeit with some tweaks that really doesn't draw me in. The new levels and characters don't have the same charm either.
    Great video though. Thanks so much for taking us on this journey!

    Great video, I as well have been trying to find the fighter game franchise that is right for me. I think I will check this series out. Thanks!

    Great analysis! Keep it up, I wish you weren't so dismissive of the SS reboot though. I think SNK did a wonderful job with the game and it was commercially successful as well.

      I love the SS reboot, I think what you’re perceiving as my dismissal I meant as the worlds dismissal.
      The game came and went and nobody cares because of bad staggered platform releases and bad netcode.
      It’s a shame. I’ll give it its own video once I really sink my teeth into it

    Always wondered why the characters shadows always flicker on and off

      Flirted with them. Little KoF little Fatal Fury, but not as much as I’d like. I’m trash at the genre

    • @Maddmike
      @Maddmike  Před měsícem +2

      Yep. De-emphasis on combos makes it easier than most other fighters to start out.

      @Maddmike nice thats great I've noticed there's not alot of combos. It's not a combo heavy game bought it whilst it was on sale so yh can't wait
